In member KLSINNAM of file RLSCMDS add the following:
NAM SET PASSWORD=
NAM SET VDPADMIN:Y
NAM SET SSFLAG:Y

where is the userid of the administrator. You specify the userid
as the password so he verifies against your security system.
I think you have to recycle CLSS.

CL Supersession V21

2022-09-06 Thread Steve David
Hello,

We have requirement to update inactive session timeout for Prod CICS region
in CL SS, Is it possible to update dynamically without bouncing CL SS, As
none has Admin access not sure if we have default admin IDs in CL SS,like
something similar to TPX Admin IDs(ie TPXADMIN,STXADMIN ) .

Is there a way to update a specific user id as Admin in CL SS? As the guide
says someone with Admin Authority has to grant access!!

We transitioned from Ibm Session Manager to CL/SUPERSESSION.
Wasn’t straightforward there are many parameters to touch i.e. user access,
user modifications to be allowed and many others.
Ask the group here we might help a bit.

Mark,

Most of the CL/Supersession documentation appears to be available online.
Search "IBM CL/Supersession V3". I found multiple PDF's - Basic Config
Guide, Customization Guide, Problem Determination Guide, etc.

Here in Brazil we have configured CLSS 3.1 to replace Netview Access.
It is working as expected but there are some difference if you compare

I have to get most of the configuration steps in manuals.

Migration Netview Access to CL/Supersession

2021-06-17 Thread Gilson Cesar de Oliveira
Dear list:

I'd like to know if someone have migrated the Session Manager from
Netview Access to CL/Supersession.

We are starting to do it and I could not find if there is a process to

Details related to RACF definitions would be a good start.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The password might be sent in the clear - but that is an SNA SLU (the TN3270
LU for the terminal session) to PLU (CL/Supersession) session and as such
would require looking into methods for encrypting SNA sessions in the Comm
Server manuals. I'm pretty sure it's not flowing over IP if TN3270 and
Supersession are on the same system. If you're going between systems it might
be Enterprise Extender? Which flows over IP and I'd guess Communication Server
manuals would tell you how to encrypt that as well.

I am curious here. This isn't my field really.
If the traffic is only encrypted to the end application (TN3270) then what
happens when a user signs on to CL/SS itself. It appears to me that the
password would be sent in the clear.

Yes, if you want to secure the inbound TN3270 traffic, then update AT/TLS
configuration for TN3270 port to use SSL. And you will need have the SSL
signing CA root, on the client requesting the TN3270 connection.

TN3270 supports secure sockets. Just make your TN3270 terminals "auto logon"
to CL/Supersession and you're good.

2020-06-24 Thread Karl S Huf
NTAC:3NS-20

So piling onto this thread . . . we've recently been asked to secure out
TN3270 traffic. We are a CL/Superssion user (1.47) running z/OS 2.2
with a 2.4 project underway. Having caught up on this thread, if I
understand correctly, there's nothing in CL/SS that needs to be done but
rather updating the TN3270 server and, of course, the settings on the
desktop emulator. Does this sound right? TIA!

2020-06-04 Thread Steve Beaver
I spent 2 hours with a guy in Cali this morning on WebEx.

He helped me solve my issues then I added 140 APP Sessions.

He also explained how SSTERM1 and SSTERM2 work and he showed me how
To kill the PERSONAL Information Screen and get TCPIP working.

Once I finish adding all the APPDEF's then I will Group the APPDEFS to control
What the user sees.

I still have to chase down the about 20 more hostname table entries to finish
This little project

Thanks for your kind assistance

How are you having the users logging on to CLSS from the 10 Screen?
- The message 10, displays the screen and all terminals for that port,
logon to SuperSession. There are other applications available, but there are
no longer available
Have you had to add every user to CL/SuperSession
- I don’t think so, but I don’t perform User admin functions. But, I

Would you send me a screen shot or your VTAMLST member for CLSS? Only GATEWY16

CL/ / Supersession

2020-05-15 Thread Steve Beaver
A few months ago I was asked/assigned a take to convert from NVAS to
CL/Supersession 2.1 since NVAS is EOL.

After a couple days and some discussions, we found out that CLSS 2.1 did not
support TCPIP Secure Sockets.

I put in an RFE #141211 and I just looked and its under development. Now as
to how long

The development is going to take and what the PMR is going to be I just
don't know at this

Time.

I am hoping later this summer

UGH.. the Top Secret section of the CL Supersession manual.. is just
needlessly complicated!! No wonder there are problems.

I am going to lay down the gauntlet. Is anyone running Top Secret 4.2? It
has only been out of service for what ... 26 or 27 years!??!?

It is a bit ridiculous. It is far easier to just follow the RACF section
and just translate to Top Secret.

I am installing CL/Supersession for the first time (currently we are IBM

I am having difficulty understanding how to use dynamic application lists

The documentation is extremely lacking in clarity on how to code the Top
Secret statements. I have rtfm’ed heavily but gotten nowhere.
