i dont have to worry about plenty of pics with jas, he is our "first
child" horse and the photos would fill up several truckloads I think.
I have tons of older pics of GB since he was jaspars sire i took pics
of him thru the years too even tho I didnt own him. as years go by i
take less and less tho. There are pitifully few of Nasi and Tivar
compared to jaspar.

He really was prettier than shows in his pictures. I think that's why it was
such a shock. He was looking fine up until we went to bed Friday night.

His main sign of aging was his sagging back - and that back is one reason I try
to make people more aware of gaits. His step pace was very comfy...until it
went more towards pure pace the last few years. He never went lame or seemed
uncomfortable, but I couldn't stand for Cary to ride him near the end. I
really wish I'd known more about gaits when he was young...

why the heck do registries make you PAY for this?!?!? The paso fino
horses don't... anybody can go there and look up info, pedigrees etc.
for free! i mean, I can see why they would make you pay for copies of
stuff and when they have to research something, but the database should be
 free!

Apparently all of the animal registrations are handled by one agency in Canada,
the CLRC, and it's awesome...and it's free! You can search for parts of a
horse's name, and then click on hyperlinks to find out more: find offspring and
ancestors, etc.. Here it is for Icelandics:
http://www.clrc.ca/cgi-bin/query.cgi?_association=94 Since many of my horses
are from Canada, or have relatives from Canada, it's amazing how much I've been
able to figure out from looking at this site.

You can search to some limited extent on the US registry site, but it doesn't
compare to the Canadian site. http://www.icelandics.org/search/default.asp

there is someone on the other list, Diane, she and I always share the
TWHBEA database. Its 60 bucks a year. I paid one year and gave her
the secret code, she paid the next, now its my turn again and i havent
done it yet. I will do it by next week hopefully then we can look him
up.

Which brings to mind one of my pet peeves...

His registered name was Dana's Little Mac - and yeah, I think it was really
spelled with a "k" at the end. I'll look up his papers - is there anywhere you
can check TWH pedigrees online? I know Merry Go Boy and Midnight Sun were on
his papers.

Boy he sure still looked great in the second picture. All shiney and
muscular. I would have never guessed that picture was 19 years after

What a nice horse. You're right about taking lots of pictures. I decided
to make a scrapbook of the horses we have owned. For some horses, there
were only one or maybe two pictures and not good ones at that. One mare
(actually my first gaited horse) there's a picture with a newborn foal at
her feet. They are just tiny black and white specks in the middle of the
print. It was the only picture of either of them. There were a few horses
with no pictures at all. We not only lost the big hair, we went digital.
Praise the Lord.
