it wasn't new, and hadn't been properly cared for, so some of the
problem may have started with that. but it was rather stiff, and too
narrow for stjarni, and slid when you mounted. (i had previously ridden
in ansurs at a horse retreat, and although those *were* well-cared-for
you had to pad the horse to tremendous evenness, and you still had to
use a mounting block for both mounting and dismounting.)

i use a mounting block routinely to save wear and tear on my pony's
back, but i also think it should be possible to mount from the ground,
as this is often handy on the trail.

at $750 it's a bargain, and i expect the buyer can treat it as a trial and
sell it for at least that much if it doesn't work out.

i have chronic pain too, but the sensation doesn't seem better or worse
for it than any other saddle i've tried. but it is better for my riding
position than my other saddle, so i use it mostly. some of my students
definitely do better in the sensation, while others prefer my treed
saddle (a hrimnir). we don't quite have the modelling technology around
yet to know in advance what will or won't work, so it's very often worth
taking the time to experiment.

(we also tried an ansur treeless, and BOY did that not work AT ALL :)

I am a person who has had hip problems with a treeless-- a Bob
Marshall, and it was terrible. After one hour in the saddle I had a
"stitch" in both hips. After two hours I was in constant terrible
pain, and in three hours, on the way back to the trailer, I was
actually hiking my knees up onto my horse's withers for relief. I
don't even have hip problems!

I never had a problem with the Sensation.

Pam, that was a very good price, and the fact that Kaaren sold it in just a few
minutes is a testament to how popular these saddles are. Used ones just don't
pop up very often. I've sold three as I've upgraded to newer model Sensations,
and I've never even had to advertise one - people just pop up looking before I
can advertise. If for any reason it doesn't work out for this buyer, they
certainly won't have any trouble re-selling it. I'm really sorry the
Sensations didn't work for you. No saddle will work for every horse or for
every rider. But, there are lots of us who bought and sold many, many saddles,
but have happily settled on the Sensation. The buyer was lucky to grab it for
that price.

Gosh, I hope they don't have any hip or physical problems. I would
hate for someone to hear how wonderful you all say they are and then
have it hurt like me. I have had my condition for many years and I
know what will work and what won't work I tried a bunch of sitting
