(i had previously ridden in ansurs at a horse retreat, and although those *were* well-cared-for you had to pad the horse to tremendous evenness, and you still had to use a mounting block for both mounting and dismounting.) i use a mounting block routinely to save wear and tear on my pony's back, but i also think it should be possible to mount from the ground, as this is often handy on the trail. --vicka

(we also tried an ansur treeless, and BOY did that not work AT ALL :) --vicka
Re: [IceHorses] Re:Sensation For Sale
I am a person who has had hip problems with a treeless-- a Bob Marshall, and it was terrible. After one hour in the saddle I had a "stitch" in both hips. After two hours I was in constant terrible pain, and in three hours, on the way back to the trailer, I was actually hiking my knees up onto my horse's withers for relief. I don't even have hip problems! I never had a problem with the Sensation. Janice -- yipie tie yie yo

Pam, that was a very good price, and the fact that Kaaren sold it in just a few minutes is a testament to how popular these saddles are. Used ones just don't pop up very often. I've sold three as I've upgraded to newer model Sensations, and I've never even had to advertise one - people just pop up looking before I can advertise. If for any reason it doesn't work out for this buyer, they certainly won't have any trouble re-selling it. I'm really sorry the Sensations didn't work for you. No saddle will work for every horse or for every rider. But, there are lots of us who bought and sold many, many saddles, but have happily settled on the Sensation. The buyer was lucky to grab it for that price. Karen Thomas, NC
