I know that their isn't a command for the green light to maximise (bad apple). However, someone has written a script so that it does work. Mp4 audio nightmare
Hi I unfortunately have some audio files in mp4 format, I have noticed that in itunes 10 they are treated as videos and the video screen pops up and instead of being able to navigate through itunes when the track is playing, I am forced to stare at a black screen with the video controls at the bottom. Does anybody know of a simple way around this, or will I have to fish through my collection and convert them? Re: Mp4 audio nightmare
My guess would be to change the extensions. iTunes knows what format MP4 files are by the extension, so if you change from .mp4 to .m4a it will know that it is to be treated as an audio file. Does anybody know of a simple way around this, or will I have to fish through my collection and convert them? Easy fix. Select all the offending files and enter Command+I, iTunes will ask you Are you sure you want to edit information for multiple items? Select Yes, and a window titled 'Multiple Item Information' will appear. Go to the 'Options' tab on the far right and you will see options Volume Adjustment (adjusts relative playback volume of selected files), Equalizer Preset (obvious), and the third option is Media Kind. Select 'Music' and click the blue OK button and iTunes will treat them as music files instead of video files. Just FYI, the rest of the options are 'Part of a compilation' (useful for say an album by multiple artists or a greatest hits album, it's up to you), Skip when shuffling (obvious), and Gapless album (live albums, and Pink Floyd studio albums would be good candidates for this option where the original had no gap between songs). Not sure what you mean by 'System Monitor' /Applications/Utilities/Activity Monitor is what I use to see what's running on the system when I need to. I use MenuMeters http://www.ragingmenace.com/software/menumeters/ to watch CPU and Memory usage, although with my new (WooHoo, first non-hand-me-down computer at work in over 10 years!) 27 i7 quad imac, that's less of an issue than my old Core Duo imac.
