[info-tech] AEA Wordpress Site
I'm just curious as to how other schools are handling the AEA Wordpress site. Our filter blocks it, because it's a blog. Is there a way to open that site and its links up without allowing full access to Wordpress? Sarah Sarah M. [info-tech] Lightspeed Systems Content Filtering TTC Server
We are having a huge problem with Lightspeed TTC and user identification. I am not sure what the problem is, but we haven't been able to get this working correctly consistently. We are running their Security Agent and all of our machines are Windows XP. We recently upgraded our TTC Server to the latest version and that didn't solve the problem. Anyone with experience in configuring / troubleshooting this type of issue? Suggestions are more than welcome!! [info-tech] Password Policies and Substitute Teachers
At Sheldon School, like every school, our policies state that you may not give your password to ANYONE. However, when a sub needs to come in for a teacher, previously, that sub has been given the password for the teacher to use. However, this of course violates the policies, and because that sub would be able to access the email for that teacher, they are not comfortable with this. The options that I have come up with, including creating a special drop folder accessible by subs where teachers could drop their assignments only work if the teacher knows in advance that they will be gone. How do other districts handle these situations? RE: [info-tech] Password Policies and Substitute Teachers
We do nothing in our cases here in Fort Dodge, until it becomes a long-term situation. We don't provide access to the computer or the network. We have, on special occasions, accommodated some subs depending on situation and classes they were covering, but it doesn't happen very often. We have resumed those discussions, but have not come to a consensus on what to do. We have had those situations as you mentioned, and the staff members accounts are disabled and changed after a little chat with them. They know that is not acceptable and they are breaking board policy.
