RE: [info-tech] Apple Weirdness
I might recommend re-imaging the eMac again. If the machine is stuck booting into verbose or single user mode, put this into Terminal and hit [enter]: sudo nvram boot-args= You'll need to put in an Administrator password on the machine, but then it should boot normally. Not sure what would have gotten it there in the first place, but hope that helps. NOw when I boot the machine it looks like it is going into single user mode (command line). Not a bad thing, just different. Then I get a plain blue screen, then my log in. I do not care, but I know the teacher is going to freak the first time they see the command line stuff and I would rather not deal with that. Is it the "Verbose" boot mode? http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1253535 Try zapping the PRAM and see if that might turn it off. Karl H.
