I am running Zotero 4.0.21.5 with Firefox 31.0 and OpenOffice 4.1.0 on a Windows 8 laptop. I am also trying to finish my thesis!!! But now when I go to add a citation to the document through Zotero (as I have been doing successfully for months) the document hangs and eventually I get the "not responding" message. If I restart it recovers my document no problems but without the citation added. I have tried turning off the anti-virus software (which is avast) but it doesn't make any difference. Steps I tested: - Install OOo 4.1.0 as usual: installed the whole Win package without caring of permissions and leaving the uncompression and automatic install process to go. This causes the error. - Install OOo 4.1.0 with admin rights: started the installation of the whole Win package explicitly as an administrator and leaving all the process to go. This causes the error too. - Install OOo 4.1.0 and attending to the process: first I uncompressed the whole Win pacckage. When I had it uncompressed, I *launched setup.exe with admin rights*. This solved the issue. There are no more problems with my OOo installation now but I think it should be patched the installation process. It isn't a DEFECT; it works as designed. OpenOffice uses the same (default) colour table in all its modules. This table isn't only shown by the colour pickers in the toolbars, it is also used as drop down list in the property tabs. So there is a need for a complete description how changing or adding colours using a colour picker should work. Clicking on the downloaded file opens the OpenOffice main page and then it crashes with a message asking you if you want to re-open document. Just keeps crashing even when you try to reopen. I've tried several files created in the same way (even old files) and they always crash. Other word type documents created on the Mac and another PC open ok. A certain killing combination for me is: Open file, create new Basic macro, open for edit, go to the end, press Enter twice, Backspace once -- crash. It's the Basic editor that's glitchy. JavaScript editor or Python macros work fine. I can also run Basic macros unless I want to delete script lines. The two issues seem to have little in common, other than that they both involve date formats. It is possible that issue 30216 has now been resolved in such a way that the date format architecture is greatly altered and this issue has been fixed in the process. If this is the case, however, it would seem logical to mark this issue as 'fixed' rather than 'duplicate'. As of now, we have multiple reports of this issue being reproducible across multiple platforms. I use without problem frames to create pages "reserved" for illustrations or the text is displayed in another page using the linked frames. However, frames do not allow footnotes page: Here already an issue ... I know that this request matches a possibility that sections word: the text of a section extends into a section skipping a page. It is easier to create two files for two texts -a for odd pages -a for the even pages work with the windows side by side of these 2 files then print and insert manually .. Calling a user-defined function from Calc like =VOL(A1,B1,C1) returns an Error 508. Changing the comma separators to semicolons does work and returns the correct answer like =VOL(A1;B1;C1). Comma separators in the function itself work fine, but commas in the call to the function in the Calc spreadsheet seem to not work with comma separators, but do work with semicolon separators. Reading bug 121086 and this one, it does not seem to be a user profile bug.
I tend to think that there is a dependency problem with system libraries.
Can you ran the following command on a terminal, and attach the output text
