[JAWS-Users] Re: FTP explorer
And I guess you are using Internet Explorer 7? The following assumes you are. There are as-yet unresolved issues between IE7 and ftp clients, because IE7 has changed the manner of acciessing ftp sites. For now, use Windows Explorer address bar to type in the address. If you need to cut, copy or paste, use Windows Explorer. IE (or perhaps ftp exploerer itself) takes care of downloading. - Original Message - From: Don Lorah To: jaws-users-list@googlegroups.com Sent: Saturday, January 27, 2007 9:33 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Re: FTP explorer When I use ftp explorer, Jaws says: click on page and open windows explorer aand click on open to view this page. [JAWS-Users] Re: FTP Explorer
Kerry, Sorry, I should have been more explicit in what I was saying. Load Internet Explorer and then go to tools / options / security. It should be the second tab down. There you can tab to, set to default level button and press space. Not sure that will take care of your problem, but might be worth a try. The one thing I have learnt though and don't know if its of any value tot he list is that when in the log on window of ftp explorer pressing Alt-T puts a shortcut on the desktop for the ftp account you're logging on to. Thanks again. I had a similar problem using Cute FTP and this took care of the problem for me. Denny I've been working with a friend's ftp site trying to get it set up. When I'm uploading from a computer at work running jfw 7.0 and IE6 I get to upload by cutting and pasting. At home, I use ftp explorer to log on to the website and here I'm running jfw 8.0 and IE7. I can't upload to the site. I read the user's guide on the site to see if I was doing something wrong and I'm not. When I try to press the upload link under files it just goes back to the tree view and no dialog box appears.if I try logging on through IE7 it tells me Ineed to click on page and chose open ftp site in windows explorer, then I get an error message asking if I have permission to view this site. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to cope with this problem? thanks loads.
