[JAWS-Users] Outlook 2000 Question

2007-08-20 Thread Donnie Parrett
When I am in Outlook 2000 sending an email, how can I get to the Context Menu
which seems to be
located at the very bottom right hand corner of my screen. The reason I am
wanting to know how to
do this is because when I am sending an attachment, the context menu tells how
many percent the
email is to being completely sent.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Using MS Word Thesaurus with Office 2003

2007-08-20 Thread Mireille Lavoie
Hi Lennie,

I am not sure why you did not get a drop down list. Maybe the word you
are trying to replace does not have a synonym?

Insert is what you press if you want to replace the word.

All I do is place my curser on any letter of the word I would like to look
up, use shift plus F7 to open the thesaurus, tap the tab key once to move to
the list of Synonyms, use up and down aero to highlight the desired word,
tab to replace button and then enter. I am then placed back in to the
document on the new word I chose to use.

Hi Victoria,

To change the page orientation, press alt+F to go to the file menu, then
arrow down to page set-up.

In the following dialog box, keep tabbing until you see a combo box that
says portrait.

You should be able to up arrow or down arrow to landscape, and press enter.

That will do it for you.

Hi Mireille, How have you learned these in depth MS Word features?

One that I have been trying to figure out, is how to change from Portrait to
Landscape mode?

Thanks for any help!

2007-08-20 Thread ANDREW GODWIN
Please except my apologies, , I should have read the original email further,
I would have noticed the question was referring to MS Word 2003, I replied
with an answer that I understand to only work with MS Word 2000 and earlier.
Woops

All I do is place my curser on any letter of the word I would like to look
up, use shift plus F7 to open the thesaurus, tap the tab key once to move to
the list of Synonyms, use up and down aero to highlight the desired word,
tab to replace button and then enter. I am then placed back in to the
document on the new word I chose to use.

Hi Mireille,

I was able to find the synonym, but when I did Alt+downarrow, it did
not give me the option of insert, copy or lookup. What ever happened
to plain old replace?

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Problem With Say All and JAWS 8.0

Hello everyone,

I have noticed since I have installed JAWS8.0 on 3 different computers
(2 XP computers and now this Windows Vista) that when in say all, the
page down key slows down speech and the page up increases speech.

I checked FS's technical notices archive all the way through 09/21/2007
(Before JAWS 8.0) and there is no mention of this problem. Is it
supposed to be this way? If not, does anyone know how I can fix this?

Thanks much,

Michael

Hi,

Once you've pressed shift+F7, press F6 which brings you to the pane were
the synonyms are, then tab to the word you want and press alt+down arrow
on that word, a drop down list appears with three choices which are
insert, copy and look up . Press enter on your choice. I hope this is
clear and it helps.

Hi All,

I am using Office 2003 and I want to use the Thesaurus in MS Word. I
did shift+F7 and found the synonym . However, I cannot figure out how
to replace the synonym in the document.

Can anyone advise me how to do this and where to learn how to get
better use of Office 2003 with Jaws and MS Word?

Thanks for any help,

[JAWS-Users] Using MS Word Thesaurus with Office 2003

2007-08-20 Thread Lennie Rinaldi

Lennie

Hi everyone,

by any chance does anyone know if Jaws is accessible with the "big red book"

If anyone on here is using them I would like to hear from you.

I've had the exact problems you've mentioned with HTML-based messages in
JAWS 8.2173--the update you indicated you have.

What I've found works best under the circumstances you've described is
to force Outlook to let you view the page through your browser. To do
this:
1. Open the message that you currently can't read.
2. Press alt to open the ribbon menu, then down-arrow into the lower
portion of the ribbon menu.
3. Navigate through the message section of the ribon menu until you
hear "other actions button."
4. Activate this button with spacebar.
5. In this submenu you'll find an option to view the message in your
browser. That will solve the problem, I promise.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Can Anyone Help Me with Outlook in Office 2007?

2007-08-20 Thread Crabb, Nolan
Denny asked whether viewing a message through the browser is a one-time
process or must be done with each message. To be honest, I can't tell.
It seems like something that must be done each time you get a message
that's giving you trouble. On the other hand, I'll go for days without
having to do it. So I'd say yes, you'll probably ahve to select the
browser view each time you get a message that doesn't read properly.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Spybot Found Problem

2007-08-20 Thread Ricque
Hi Margaret,
I get the same thing with Spy-bot, and since that is the only thing that shows
up, then I simply
close the program.
I know that it is not a problem, so I ignore it.
Easier to do that, than to cause a problem with windows.

you can fix it, but that just goes to show that the program is still
picking out windows components as problems. When they are part of
your operating system and not a problem. if it picks the wrong thing
your xp might not boot up. Then you will have a problem.
its better to use programs that know what is windows and what is a
real problem.

I'm getting the

Error

when I press my short cut key to load IE 6. When I click on okay,
Google.com, my IE home start page loads properly.

I did try pressing Control-E with IE loaded as you suggested and I
didn't get the error message the next time IE loaded. If I do the
toggle again, I do get it, so you may have solved the problem, but I'm
not quite sure JAWS 7.0 is saying everything it used to say before I
started getting the error message. I've also had problems with my
online banking after it started. I tried the banking site again after
doing the toggle and still had trouble with the site, but they may be
doing their over night updating. I'll try it again when I'm pretty
sure they've finished.

Thanks,

Margaret

(that's a toggle.) Maybe you have, but in case you or others didn't

Hi,
I don't know which file It refers to, but there is another shortcut for it
under start menu/programs/accessories and it might be under one of the sub
menus in accessories, but I don't remember for sure.

I just recently received an XP Windows Media Center computer. Could
someone point me in the direction of where I might find a list of short
cuts for the media center portion. I'm particularly interested in
 being
able to play and catalog music, watch, record and burn tv programs and
 play/copy dvd's.

 I'm using Jaws 8.02173.

Your help is appreciated as always.

[JAWS-Users] Error Loading IE 6-XP Home Re: Spybot Found Problem

2007-08-20 Thread Margaret Thomas
Flor,

I remember that Control-E was a toggle for something in IE about
Microsoft and searching, but didn't IE at least load without an error
before you did the control-E?

I'm getting the

Error
A file that is required to run Search Companion cannot be found. You
may need to run setup.
OK

when I press my short cut key to load IE 6.

Thanks,

Margaret
