SuperAntiSpyware is another program that scans for Spyhware and removes
 it.
I just tried it out for free and liked it so much that I bought it. It is
very accessible with jaws. You can get a free addition of

Re: [JAWS-Users] Real Speak JAWS 9

2008-01-04 Thread AMTK161
Hi Vicki,

When selecting a speech synthesizer, select SAPI5 and then go into the
voices menu from there and select the RealSpeak voice you want. That has
worked for me on Windows Vista, I don't know about earlier versions of
Windows though; let us know if that doesn't work.

Hello everyone,
I just upgraded to IE 7, and I don't really understand much about tabbed

jaws9. I am running windows XP home edition, and I have jaws 9. Any help with
this would be most appreciated!

Re: [JAWS-Users] IE 7 tutorials

2008-01-04 Thread Joseph Lee
Hi Lisa,
A Tab Brosing basically means opening two or more websites on the same
window (or session as some people calls it). It is like using multipage
dialog. Here are some of the commands:
* To open a new website using a new tab (meaning same window), press CTRL+T.
* To exit out of a website (not IE; it just closes the tab), press CTRL+W or
CTRL+F4.
* To move to the next webpage (TAB), press CTrL+TAB.
* For prior page (TAB), press CTRL+Shift+TAB.
I know there are some blindness tutorials out there that teaches IE7 from
blindness perspective. I myself have covered IE7 exclusively on my Part 4 of
my Guide to Vista tutorial (although it covers Vista, IE7 commands and
concepts are same accross Vista and XP).
Cheers,
Joseph

Re: [JAWS-Users] MS word commands

2008-01-04 Thread Denny Huff
Hi list:

Need some jaws commands within Microsoft word 2003 and jaws 8.

1. What is the command for going from form fields within a template?
Just press your tab key.

2. What is the command to select a item from a list box?
To open the drop down list box, just press enter. Then down arrow to your
selection and press enter.

3. How do I insert my Companies logo to the document for later printing?
Place your cursor at the place in the document you want your logo and then
do an alt I for insert. Type a p for, picture, then an f for, from file.
Then navigate to the logo file and press enter.
If you want Jaws to announce your picture, then do an insert v for versocity
and type an B for borders and pictures, if it is off, press your spacebar to
check and then press enter. Now as you arrow through your document it will
announce your inserted graphic.

Nothing happens when I hit (enter) for the list box either.

Maybe I should send someone the word template to see if they know how I can

Re: [JAWS-Users] MS word commands

2008-01-04 Thread Denny Huff
Yes, I took a look at it and found that is wasn't protected. I did protect
the form and you can now tab through the fields, but it still isn't very
accessible with Jaws. Although it tabbed through the fields, Jaws did not
announce what the fields were.

- Original Message - If this is truly a form in Word, then it should
tab from one field to another.
Try this:
Do an alt v for view, then a t for toolbar.
Arrow down to, form and if it isn't checked, then press enter to check it.
Now try tabbing through your fields. If it doesn't work, then it isn't a
true form.
Let me know.

That program is a specialty, but more over a friend of mine who goes by

2008-01-04 Thread Lisa
Hello David,
How about an audio tutorial about how to set up, and use RSS feeds? I don't
really know much about them, but I would like to learn. How are they
different from pod cast's? Just a suggestion.
Take care,

[JAWS-Users] Jaws 9 Intel X3000 GMA graphics card

2008-01-04 Thread Waqas Hussain
Greetings all,

Wishing everyone a very happy and prosperous 2008, I intend to replace my
current laptop with a Samsung Q45 notebook using an Intel X3000 GMA 3D 128
MB graphics card. I wonder if anyone on the list has used this graphics card
with Jaws and have come across any issues? My second question is not Jaws
related for which I apologize in advance, is it possible to set up file
sharing between two machines running Vista business and Vista home premium
respectively?

You may write to me privately on:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Regards

Waqas

Hi list:

Need some jaws commands within Microsoft word 2003 and jaws 8.

1. What is the command for going from form fields within a template?
2. What is the command to select a item from a list box?
3. How do I insert my Companies logo to the document for later printing?

Thanks in advance.

I'm curious as to what sort of items might be of interest to some of you

doing one on repairing a damaged DBX file in Outlook Express as this is

David, it's called Cookie Muncher I think. It was on the JFW light web
site. I took it off a long time ago but I still remember Cookie Monster
thanking me for eating all of my cookies.

That program is a specialty, but more over a friend of mine who goes by
start button is the expert in that area. Never the less I do appreciate
 the
quick reply. He normally does around a 8 or 10 part class on gold wave
 at
least once a year it seems. Like I said though if it is in my purview

ability I will consider a tutorial on what might come across the list

2008-01-04 Thread Rick Harmon
I have one on my website listed below if anyone is interested. It's in the
audio section of the website and under the Outlook Express heading. It's 6
parts now I think. One of the later parts deals with backing up and
restoring much of OE's info including the address book.

Hi:

Sometimes mine does that too, and I've found nothing that works 100
percent of the time, but it seems to be worse when Word is running in
the background. I'm running JFW 7.10.500 and it still happens sometimes.

 Seasons Greetings to all!

Just today, I no longer hear Jaws saying with control +c - Copy text to
Clipboard or whatever it used to say. It is only silent although it does
 the operation as directed.

I am using JAWS 6.2, XP Home and Outlook Express.
How can I re-establish this helpful speech. I do stil hear Pasted
 selected
 Text.
 Thanks very much!

Re: [JAWS-Users] JFW 9 and I Tunes

2008-01-04 Thread carlene knight
Hi:
I have a friend who has an IPod Shuffle and uses XPlay. I realize this
is a bit past Christmas, but it can be done. It's not as versitile as
ITunes is for the sighted, but it works. I have played with ITunes, and
it doesn't work well with JFW alone at all.

David Griffith wrote:
I personally have nothing but bad news in relation to I-Tunes and have
found it to be completely inaccessible. I believe that it is possible to buy
some scripts but the program is so screen reader unfriendly I personally did
not want to go that route.

There are clearly some blind users who have used the I-Pod but If it is at
all possible to change your choice I would recommend the Creative Zen
Stone1GB. This is completely accessible and will play files copied across
simply with Windows Explorer with no need for irksome intermediate software.
Operation is simple and file transfers are fast.

If you want the copy protected stuff from sites like Audible.com then I
believe the more expensive option of things like the Victor Reader Stream
 may be indicated.

 David Griffith
