Re: [JAWS-Users] *(JAWS SCRIPTS FOR PC SUITE)*

2008-10-04 Thread Negoslav Sabev

Hi mostafa,

I know about some jaws scripts for nokia pc suite, but the price was $150
and I wouldn't pay sutch amount of money. If you are useing third generation
phone you can use the latest version of this nokia software and it's pritty
accessible as instalation and interface. You can go to www.blindsea.com and
then to 3rd addition 3rd-Party Software. There you'll find Nokia PC Suite
version 7.0.8.2. I use this version with jaws 7.10 with no problems. On
another computer I use an older PC suite 6.86.29.9 with jaws 9. I think you
can use it also with second edition phones, but I'm not absolutely sure. If
you have more questions, ask the talks users list.

Best regards

Negoslav

Re: [JAWS-Users] help with juice not downloading podcasts

2008-10-04 Thread Mich
hi thanks for this info. I did change the stadice of the podcast to skipt. I
do have a question about your message though. I didn't quite understand what
you ment when you said or start listening to

and then removing those you no longer require. You can change the status of
a podcast i.e., from, say, partially downloaded to 'skipped' by finding its
subscription in the Subscriptions tab, tabbing into the list view, choosing
it and then pressing spacebar on it. I think I'd remove the partially
downloaded podcast from the downloads folder - delete it. Your files are
also independently stored in the My Received Podcasts folder, so even if you
do just delete - hit the delete key on - them from your podcasts, they are
still located there as mp3 files. (Note: This only applies if you delete
the podcasts as I indicated; do not remove them via the Juice option or they
will be gone. so is what you are saying to do the following? go in to the
subscriptions tabb and then tabb in to the diffrent podcast folders and then
deleate them from there since they are in the my receaved podcasts folder
anyways? many thanks. from Mich Verrier.

2008-10-04 Thread Flor Lynch
No, go into the downloads folder or tab (which is not the subscriptions
folder or tab) and you can just press the delete key on each of them from
there.

Don't yuse the remove functionality of Juice, unless you want to actually
remove them completely from your hard drive - although you will have to do
this at some stage, when you have dealt with them, listened to and then
stored them elsewhere, perhaps.

Re: [JAWS-Users] configuring control keys to properly work in jaws

2008-10-04 Thread Patricia Dunbar
I'd like to comment here being as I'm the one who is trying to perform these
tasks and it doesn't work and extremely frustrating..

Basically anything in any program...outlook express, word, web site any
occasion where we need to use the copy/cut/paste commands on his computer it
does not work. I select something which 9 times out of 10 that doesn't
happen with the usual methods...shift or control and shift together, jaws
does not say the item is selected.
I have to use his application key to perform these actions as well as
pasting, copying or cutting. That method works, but it's cumbersome and
takes more steps to do something or the same thing on my computer or the
laptop with the control hot keys..

As far as his files/folders in the list view. I have changed all of that
several times matching my computer through the control panel/files and
folders, the view tab page all of his is set exactly to mine and my computer
functions like it's suppose to in regards to this area of folders in list
view.
His computer regardless of the changes made, I always have to press Alt V
arrow down to list and enter to get all the items in a folder to show up and
everytime that tiles is checked. It seems his setting just won't stay
changed..

Allen,

Troubleshooting this condition might be easier if we knew what software
you
are using when this problem occurs and what is it that you are attempting
to

cut/copy and paste.

Hi Sue.

If you have license to Jaws for XP home or Vista home basic or home
Premium, and have bought a laptop with XP Pro or Vista Ultimate, your ILM
code will not be valid.

So probably you have to upgrade your Jaws license, before you can run jaws
in full mode.

Hi.

I bought a new laptop last week and I installed my version of Jaws onto
it from the installation CD. I'm using version 9 with the latest
updates. The machine's been working fine with Jaws until last night when
I came home from work and switched the machine on. I was asked to start
the Jaws activation again, which I did and the activation was successful.
In the last 24 hours however, I've been asked to start the Jaws
activation 3 times. I'm concerned about this as I don't want to run out
of activation codes over the weekend and have Jaws running in 40 demo
mode.

Please can someone tell me why this is happening as I've no idea. I
don't have a Jaws authorisation CD as my upgrade was from Jaws 6 to Jaws
9. I typed the authorisation number in manually and as I said, the
activation has been successful 3 times within 24 hours.

I'd be grateful for any help with this as I don't want to run out of
codes.

Hi Patricia,
Have you installed, or re-configured any
type of cleanup software on this computer?

I'd like to comment here being as I'm the one who is trying to perform
these tasks and it doesn't work and extremely frustrating..

Basically anything in any program...outlook express, word, web site any
occasion where we need to use the copy/cut/paste commands on his computer
it does not work.

I have changed all of that
several times matching my computer through the control panel/files and
folders, the view tab page all of his is set exactly to mine and my
computer functions like it's suppose to in regards to this area of folders
in list view.
His computer regardless of the changes made, I always have to press Alt V
arrow down to list and enter to get all the items in a folder to show up
and everytime that tiles is checked. It seems his setting just won't stay
changed..

Allen,

Troubleshooting this condition might be easier if we knew what software
you
are using when this problem occurs and what is it that you are attempting
to

cut/copy and paste.

Re: [JAWS-Users] configuring control keys to properly work in jaws

2008-10-04 Thread Patricia Dunbar

Rick,

He did have that installed not by me, but from a computer teck who put the
laptop online and used some type of program to clean up leftover traces of
his old antivirus program on the laptop which was preventing the laptop to
go online.

Allen had it on his desktop for a time, but removed it.
However, I poked around in the OE tools/Options and discovered several
settings amiss. After correcting them, I am now able to use the control key
with the x,c,v as intended.
So guess this mystery is solved, until next time and there will always be a
next time...grins

Thanks,

Patricia

Hi Marilyn,
you weren't being picky. Your comment was a valid one. It isn't any good
throwing commands at someone, if they aren't already familiar with the
keyboard etc. Being on this list, makes me appreciate the short course
introducing me to Jaws that I received. At the time, I thought it not
extensive enough. I now know, that some people don't even have access to
that.

You always have good input on the list, so keep it up.
Best wishes
