Its a permission issue, its part of the security of vista. That is why i
said install it in guest mode. That way it should be able to use the video
intercept..
If you un install jaws and reinstall, and let it go for all users. This
problem might be let through the security.

Try installing the video intercept using narrator in the guest account.
you admin account has full rights to the program, but the guest account
don't. That is why it will run but won't after a restart.

Ok still same thing. Your guest account don't have the permissions to
reopen and start.
Look in start menu, run, type control userpasswords2 and see what the
guest can and can't do.

Re: [JAWS-Users] popping sounds in eloquence

Hi, I have a USB sound card, through which I run the jaws and I still get
the popping sound every so often. The whole thing is then sent to my sterio

faster if I am skimming.

I'll write back, with the spacific make and moddle of my sound card, as soon

I'm sure someone has dealt with this one already but just in case, I
believe that a popping sound can be caused when the audio stream being
presented is too complex for the particular sound card to process. Older
sound cards tend to do this because they have some kind of buffer which is
part of their makeup. When you are using jaws at a high rate of speed,
you are filling and emptying that buffer at a rate which is too quick for
the sound card to absorb. It isn't critical but it can be extremely
annoying. The only solution I know of is a different sound card. Several
companies make independent sound cards now which operate through the USB
port. They are quite reasonable and extremely easy to install. All you
have to do is plug in the card using the cable provided. It would be a
quick and relatively painless way to determine if my analysis is correct.

The Creative Labs people make several excellent cards.

Hi all,
Until recently I had my voice rate of eloquence set at 50 percent.
However,

I plan to slowly speed it up so I can eventually understand it at 100
percent. However, one little thing, I had it at 80, but decided for now
that

was too fast and slowed it down to 75. but at both speeds I hear more
popping sounds as eloquence reads things. is this just how things are
something I'll have to get used too?

[JAWS-Users] Duary of a firework.

2009-07-04 Thread Robert kingett
I know this doesn't deal with jaws, but its just something, as an aspiring
author and all, I thought I should share with you all. enjoy, and u can
remove me if u wish... I don't care.

Diary of a firework.

By Robert Kingett.

Saturday, July 04, 2009

Sigh. I'm bored. No, in fact, I am far beyond bored. What to do what to do.
I'm this tiny box now just sitting here like I'm waiting for jerry Springer
to come on or something. It's so depressing and dark in here. I'm thirsty.
Okay. I'm bored. I'm going to go nap.

Okay. I am awake now. God. My brother won't stay still here in this box of
mine. When I'm looking up interesting things, like how our kind were
originally made in ancient China for example, do you know what he does?
Shifts the box. I swear! He shifts it so much that it nearly topples off the
shelf. Hey! I yell at him. I'm learning here! Go get snuffed. He tells me. I
hate siblings.

Well, about this time my dark home is moving. its being loaded into
something that smells like an old room. Dusty and hot. Now I am being
bounced like nuts. My bro, like the evident sparkler that he is, is having a
blast. He's an idiot. I don't like this, but I guess I can endure it for a
little while. Oh dear god! My bro is talking about getting lit. I swear.
He daydreams too much. That never happens. I heard the helicopters however,
saying that it's the first step on a road to a different world. The bottle
rockets are of no huge help when I want to talk to someone. All they want to
do is go boom. Sigh. Am I the only one with a brain here?

I've been trying to figure out what I am. All the adults say I am something
special, that I will bring joy into people's hearts on one day of the year.
I think they have all been snuffed out too long, not to mention drenched in
water. I'm sure, like my family, I am nothing more than a sparkler. My dad
agrees with my mom, and they keep talking about me like I'm some great thing
or something. I'm not. I mean, in school, when the big ball was talking
about how it's our destiny to be lighten up, at one point in our lives, I
was daydreaming about this totally awesome pink named. A. but see, his
families are all something called ASSORTMENTS. I don't know what that means,
but my mom said it was very unusual, and socially unacceptable.
ASSORTMENTS don't know how to let up! My mom practically shouted when I
asked her. And they are just so confusing with all those beings in one box.
Dear me! She got so distressed that she started to smoke.

The truck has stopped, and now my home is being lifted out and placed on a
shelf where I hear people all about walking past. I want to say hi, but I
don't think my spark looks good. I spent like 6 minutes in the bathroom
today trying to get my color just right. G! my mom yelled at me.
You have been at that for about an hour! She boomed at me. Oops. I didn't
know that.
You act like your going to go to the show, and I will NOT, by the way, let
you do that until you are an adult! I wanted so badly to go to the show. I
want to do it now, so why wouldn't she let me? I mean, it's the most
important time in our lives! She's so controlling.

Oh my god! Guess whose box is right next to ours! Yep. A whole swoon of
Aerial repeaters. God. Why did I have to be put next to popular snobs like
that! Every morning I hear them talking about their sparkles!
Oh my god. That glow looks like totally good on you!
Oh my god! You think so?
Totally! as if their voices and attitudes aren't annoying enough their
little giggles and bursts of flame aren't attractive either. I want to snuff
them out.

Oh. my god! This totally hot Reloadable shell just gave me his box shelf!
Ash! I'm dying! A Reloadable shell is like one of the most popular types of
fireworks like in the whole wide world! Oh god. He asked me to spend the
night in his box! Oh god! I'm so excited I'm getting hot. Dear me. What
should I say? You're rather colorific? Oh god! What do I do?

Um, okay. I didn't know he was of a mixed relation. His mom and dad, even
though they are Aerial display tubes, are pretty awesome. Kind of sucks to
hear he's adopted though. His brothers, a firecracker, and a helicopter are
also adopted obviously, but wow. He's hot. And he gleams in the darkness. He
lights me up all the time.

Okay. Humans are gross. They want to take me home with them. I don't like
humans with their plane colors and filthy hands. Oh god. My mom is saying
it's time, but I never got to get married, have kids, and I still want to go
back and talk to that awesome blue hunk. Wow. He's still in my mind, and the
way we smoked together last night. wow. That was amazing. These humans keep
saying I'm going to be used at the last minute. What does that mean? I'm not
broken you know! In fact I can emit colors just fine! So beat that!

Okay. I didn't know this before, mainly because no one told me. This is the

hi mike

might be wrong on this one but I think first you should
check the Spam
filter on the google mail web page.

I often have to go through it to allow an email to get
through to outlook
express.

I don't think a message rule would work as gmail itself has
placed that
email in the Spam filter.

hope this makes sense. *smiles*

Sigh. I'm bored. No, in fact, I am far beyond bored. What to do what to do.
I'm this tiny box now just sitting here like I'm waiting for jerry Springer

Okay.

If it's been a long time since you upgraded Winamp, you might now do so - if
only for the improved security that has been implemented in recent versions.
Now I know that access to the winamp library will not be what it was; but
that's an unfortunate side-effect of the treatment. Instead you can browse

Sigh. I'm bored. No, in fact, I am far beyond bored. What to do what to
 do.
I'm this tiny box now just sitting here like I'm waiting for jerry
 Springer
to come on or something.

I swear! He shifts it so much that it nearly topples off
 the
shelf. Hey! I yell at him. I'm learning here! Go get snuffed. He tells me.
 I
 hate siblings.

Well, about this time my dark home is moving. its being loaded into
something that smells like an old room. Dusty and hot. Now I am being
bounced like nuts. My bro, like the evident sparkler that he is, is having
 a
blast. He's an idiot. I don't like this, but I guess I can endure it for a
little while. Oh dear god! My bro is talking about getting lit. I swear.
He daydreams too much. That never happens. I heard the helicopters
 however,
saying that it's the first step on a road to a different world. The bottle
rockets are of no huge help when I want to talk to someone. All they want
 to
do is go boom. Sigh. Am I the only one with a brain here?

I've been trying to figure out what I am. All the adults say I am
 something
special, that I will bring joy into people's hearts on one day of the
 year.
I think they have all been snuffed out too long, not to mention drenched
 in
water. I'm sure, like my family, I am nothing more than a sparkler. My dad
agrees with my mom, and they keep talking about me like I'm some great
 thing
or something. I'm not. I mean, in school, when the big ball was talking
about how it's our destiny to be lighten up, at one point in our lives, I
was daydreaming about this totally awesome pink named. A. but see, his
families are all something called ASSORTMENTS. I don't know what that
 means,
but my mom said it was very unusual, and socially unacceptable.
ASSORTMENTS don't know how to let up! My mom practically shouted when I
asked her. And they are just so confusing with all those beings in one
 box.

Oops. I
 didn't
 know that.
You act like your going to go to the show, and I will NOT, by the way,
 let
you do that until you are an adult!

I want to
 snuff
 them out.

Oh. my god! This totally hot Reloadable shell just gave me his box shelf!
Ash! I'm dying! A Reloadable shell is like one of the most popular types
 of
fireworks like in the whole wide world! Oh god. He asked me to spend the
night in his box! Oh god! I'm so excited I'm getting hot. Dear me. What
should I say? You're rather colorific? Oh god! What do I do?

Um, okay. I didn't know he was of a mixed relation. His mom and dad, even
 though they are Aerial

Additionally, you will need to define both the long and short messages as
follows:

Messages

@MSG_X_L
Long message!
@@

@MSG_X_S
short
@@

EndMessages

The above lines should be below the Include line suggested and before your
functions and scripts. Alternately, they can be placed in a separate
message file like, appName.jsm. If you place these lines in a separate
file, add include statement in the script file like:

Include appName.jsm
The convention for these constants is to use all capital letters. Adding
the MSG_ prefix is just my preference.

Hello, please add the include statement to the hjconst file at the top of
your practice file.

like this:
Include hjconst.jsh
;this is the header file where output types are defined, and OT means the
output type, for more information, see the detailed discription speech
output type topic of the help in jaws, which related to verbosity, and for
example:
OT_user_Buffer means that this message shall be printed in the virtual
buffer, and other ot types like; ot_String, ot_help, ot_status,
ot_control_name and all of the others are just spoken, but may or may not
be disabled as per their ot type.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Questions regarding netbook computer, and windows operating systems

2009-07-04 Thread Donald Marang
I have not purchased a Netbook yet. I hear that some stores and
manufactures in the US will be offering a free Windows 7 Home Premium
upgrade on all XP and Vista computers sold between now and the final release
of Windows 7 is available. I know Dell and Best Buy were mentioned. It
sounds like the DVD will be mailed out automatically from the manufacturer
when released. Not sure how they can afford this with the small profit
margins on Netbooks. If you are buying before October 22, it can't hurt to
ask!

Hi, for the moment, you are on your own to install and use Windows 7 RC.
RC stands for release candidate and is a prerelease version of the
product. On my machine I found it to be generally stable but is definitely
rough in some areas which will be fixed in time for the full release. This
won't be the case on all machines. However you are most likely going to be
fine with Windows 7 RC if you're using a Vista machine or a recent XP
machine, including netbooks. If you wish to use Windows 7 RC, buy a
netbook with XP. Partition the hard drive then you can create a dual boot
configuration, with XP and 7 RC. That way if something went wrong with 7
you can roll back to XP and safely delete your partition without affecting
the entire system. I'd also suggest creating a virtual environment so you
can test 7 without even affecting the physical environment. The problem is
I'm not sure how well virtualization products run on Netbooks. I expect
though that with 2GB of RAM it should run fine. 1GB might be too much
unless you assign the virtual machine's memory to no more than half the
size. Finally, you could just wait till Windows 7 is out then you should
start seeing netbooks with Windows 7 preloaded. Hope this all helps.

Hi Chris.

Thanks for the heads up on my question.
however, I need to ask one mor if I may. Do you think that I should
wait for the full release of windows 7 before purchasing the netbook? or
should I have them install the rc version of windows 7, and then later
on, have them install the full version of the program after windows 7 is
officially released too the public.

If it's been a long time since you upgraded Winamp, you
might now do so - if
only for the improved security that has been implemented in
recent versions.
Now I know that access to the winamp library will not be
what it was; but
that's an unfortunate side-effect of the treatment. Instead
you can browse
to www.shoutcast.com/ and then do much as before.
