Thanks Brian Lee! I understand now. Vicky - Original Message - From: "Brian Lee" To: Sent: Saturday, December 05, 2009 12:19 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Rows for Tables Hello Vicky, I am not sure why you would want to do such a function, but I don't know of a way to do it without using the JAWS cursor. JAWS recognizes the end of cell marker as a new line marker when using PC cursor. When the cursor is on the new line marker you can use JAWS key with home key to read text in the cell, but everything to the right is treated as a new line. As soon as you use right arrow key to move off of the end of cell marker, the JAWS key with home key will not read anything but the JAWS key with page up key will read info in the cell into which focus moved. If you move the cursor to the end of cell marker and route JAWS to PC then you can use JAWS key with home key to read the cell's information on the left and use JAWS key with page up to read the rest of the line going right. To move on to the paragraph marker you will likely need to show all marks by using Alt key followed by H followed by 8 if using Word 2007. Use the same key sequence to turn off showing of the markers. Take care. If you use your tab key across the bottom part of the ribbon you will find choices for "insert above", "insert below", "insert right", and "insert left." The insert right and left choices will add columns to the right or left of the column that the cursor is in at the time. The insert above and insert below will add rows above or below the row where the cursor is at the time. There is also an "insert cells" choice, which will open a dialog for you to specify where the cell should be inserted relevant to the current cursor position. The "rows and columns" group also has a delete button where you can delete a row, column, table or individual cells. The interpretation I took of what they said is that effectively FS Reader is now freely available with jaws 11 demo and is no longer a commercial product for sale. I cannot definitively test this out as I have the full version of 11 on both my Netbook and desktop machine. However I can quit Jaws and run something like NVDA and the new FS Reader still works absolutely fine so it does not appear to be linked to any version of Jaws. The easiest thing is to download the demo and try it out. The very strong impression I got from the podcast is that FS Reader will not expire after 40 minutes. Simply install the jaws 11 . Run your existing Jaws 10 software and then run the new FS Reader 2.0 software from the icon installed on your desktop. Experimenting with the full version of FSReader that comes with Jaws 11 I have found that it is very good at reading mp3 audio books. In particular the capacity to increase reading rate with control page up is better than any other software that I have come across for this feature. Unlike other solutions for accelerating playback the distortion level is low. It seems a bit like having the Victor Reader Stream reading capacity on your PC. As I understand it, even if you download and install only the demo version of Jaws 11 you will get the full version of FSReader. Of course FSReader will not normally read mp3 audio books as it looks only for daisy content. However I have found an easy way to convert a folder of mp3 files into a Daisy book that FSReader will open and read. The first step is to copy the folder of mp3 files you want to convert into an easy place to find on your PC. I copied a book onto my C drive and renamed the folder daisy. Now download the free Daisy book Generator from http://jaapvanlelieveld.xs4all.nl/daisy.htm Install the Daisy Book Generator and run the program from your programs menu. The program is a very simple command line program. There are no menus or buttons. Simply type in the path of the folder you want to become a Daisy Book and then press enter. In my case this is C:\daisy It seems impossible to copy and paste a long path into the program which is why I suggest you copy the folder you want to convert into an easy to type location. Press enter if you get any warning messages from the program about the filenames you have in your folder. The program will then start converting your folder of mp3 files into a daisy book. The progr
