I do believe that Patti is running Windows Live Mail now and having problems
withit. this is the reason she is looking for and trying to get Windows
Mail. Which of the Email clients for Windows7 is supposed to be like
Outlook Express? The one that is supposed to be an equivalent or close to
Outlook Express is the one she is looking for. Thanks much for all who are

Hi Mike,
If you are indeed looking for Windows Mail, the successor to Outlook
Express,
it was only available in Windows Vista, and not as a stand-alone
application.
I have checked several sites where the files for it were reported to be
available,
only to find that the files can't be distributed due to copyright
infringements.

Re: [JAWS-Users] accessible games

2010-01-14 Thread Michael Feir
There are a couple of key web sites which people who want to find accessible
games ought to know about. One of these is:

www.pcsgames.net

There, you'll find lists of all known accessible games for Windows, Mac and
Linux. Phil Vlasak, a developer himself, keeps a marvelously up-to-date and
complete list with game descriptions and links to the various sites. Also,
there is another site with lots of reviews and information called:

www.audiogames.net

There, you can also find issues of Audyssey magazine. It's a free online
magazine all about accessible games for blind people. I started it back in
1996. These days, the current editor is Ron Schamerhorn. He's hard at work
on the next issue which should be out some time soon.

I hope this gets people in search of fun off to a good start. If you want to
discuss games further, feel free to contact me privately. Also, you can join
the Audyssey discussion group by sending a message to:

Re: [JAWS-Users] SendSpace Upload Problem

2010-01-14 Thread Ann M. Medlar

Hi I copied and pasted below:
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

  What you can try:
   Diagnose Connection Problems

More information
Important: If you are seeing this error it is likely you are either running
an active Firewall protection program or an Anti-virus program that is
interfering with the upload process, or the file is open and in use by
another program.

Please check the file is not in use. You may also need to review your
software settings or disable them when uploading.

You can also try to upload using our alternative Flash-based Uploader, or
with the Wizard tool.

I disabled AVG 9 and tried upload again.
This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:

.Internet connectivity has been lost.
.The website is temporarily unavailable.
.The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
.The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's
domain.

.There might be a typing error in the address.
.If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options,
click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled
under the security section.

I could not find these settings in IE.
Any ideas appreciated.
Ann

[JAWS-Users] Dongle Authorization may not work correctly in Windows 7

2010-01-14 Thread Chris Hallsworth

Hello all,
I wish to bring this to your attention. After installing JAWS on a
Windows 7 computer, you may experience problems authorizing using a
dongle, for example Windows installed the drivers, but JAWS fails to see
the dongle.

Here's how to solve this problem:
1. When Action Centre notifies you to "solve PC issues", click on the
icon in the notification area.

2. Click "solve a problem" in the Action Centre window.
3. Click view message on the next screen.
4. You will be told that "Sentinel Super USB Pro/Ultra Pro stopped
working correctly." Follow the instructions that appears, including
installing the driver update.

5. Reboot the computer when prompted.
JAWS should now correctly see the dongle and thus it will be activated.
I really hope this would be on the technical support pages of Freedom
Scientific. This is why I am bringing this to your attention.

From Chris.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Enabling Macros in Excel 2007

2010-01-14 Thread Brian Lee
Hello Bill,

The choices for working with macros are found on the lower part of the
ribbon for the developer tab. If the developer tab is not showing on the
ribbon then you can add it. Press Alt+F to get the office button menu.
Press the letter I to open the options. Tab across the choices in the
"popular" category and use spacebar to check the choice for the developer
tab to show on the ribbon. Tab to OK and press enter key.

Use Alt followed by the letter L to move to the developer tab and then tab
into the lower part of the ribbon. There is a "macros security" button.
When depressed a list of categories will appear and you can make choices for
macros, activeX controls, add-ins, privacy settings, etc. use up and down
arrow keys through the categories and then tab to the controls in each
category.

Take care.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Dongle Authorization may not work correctly in
Windows7

Hello all,
I wish to bring this to your attention.
From Chris.

I am trying to connect a vista laptop to our fully funcioning network.

There is one major difference when I select my connection from the list and

is a little different to xp which just has key and password numbers.

Any idea what the log on Domain would be.

Please forgive my last post. I was interrupted and didn't read it all the
way through before I replied. Patti is trying to learn Windows7 and
Windows
Live Mail, but somewhere in the steps of setting up Windows Live Mail she
is

not able to get things right because of the differences of terminology and
where to put the settings for sending Emails. I am probably not
explaining

things worth a crap as far as what is going on, but just trying to get her
as much information as possible to help her since she is able to receive
Emails and unable to send them out. Again, a great big thank you for
everyone trying to get Patti squared away through me trying to ask
questions

on her behalf and not being in constant contact with her. Take care.

Hi Mike,
If you are indeed looking for Windows Mail, the successor to Outlook
Express,
it was only available in Windows Vista, and not as a stand-alone
application.
I have checked several sites where the files for it were reported to be
available,
only to find that the files can't be distributed due to copyright
infringements.

[JAWS-Users] follow up to jaws saying selected after log on

2010-01-14 Thread Kimsan Song
Hi folks!

I don't know if anyone remembers or care to remember but remember when I
posted something on here concerning jaws not reading the contents of the
system tray after logging in? Remember all of the stupid things I was
trying to do and how much I stressed myself out? I did a jaws repair,
reloaded jaws and I even set the laptop back to its factory defaults!

Well, guess what I figured out last night and I don't know why this would
make a difference but maybe someone who is older and smarter than I am could
throw in their two cents.

I remember that when I change the text size to medium it started saying
unselected when arrowing down the system tray. Well, I set it back to its
defaults which was small, I never had that problem anymore. So why would
jaws behave this way if the text is set to anything either than small? If
you would like to try it out go ahead but I don't know why the size of the
text would dictate what jaws is speaking. I'm using a 64 bit machine using
windows seven professional.

Peace!

I have a lot of problems with this new email.
1 when I put in a email name it doesn't finish filling out the name.
2 how do you put your email address in different folders?
3 when I have an attachment, and I press insert A, all it says is A. How can I
fix it?
Thanks for all the help.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Reading Columns With JAWS11

2010-01-14 Thread Agent086b

Hi again,
since writing my last message I have remembered the command to switch
from one column to another in a word document. Remembering these are

not table columns. I read the original question as not talking about them.
First
In cert +3 Jaws pass through command.
then
CTRL + Alt + page down to go to the next column.
CTRL + Page Up to go back a column.
Hope this works.
Max.

[JAWS-Users] converting table to text

2010-01-14 Thread Kimsan Song
Hi,

How would I convert a table to text in word 07?

I knew how to do this in 2000 but I'm oblivious on how to do it in 2007.

Please help.

Hi,
a correction to part of the instructions.
to go to the previous column it should have been
CTRL + Alt + Page Up.
I left out the Alt before.
Max.

Hi again,
since writing my last message I have remembered the command to switch
from one column to another in a word document. Remembering these are
not table columns. I read the original question as not talking about them.
First
In cert +3 Jaws pass through command.
then
CTRL + Alt + page down to go to the next column.
CTRL + Page Up to go back a column.
Hope this works.
Max.

Under JAWS11 help there is a list of new column commands. Move right
one is alt-control-right arrow.
At 08:40 PM 1/13/2010, you wrote:

It makes clicking sounds when things happen. All you need to use is
arrow
keys, tab and the spacebar. It will tell you if a card is hinted
and

excetra.

If you are running windows 7 and JAWS 11, try the games that come in
windows. I have played solitary already and it works fine.

[JAWS-Users] jaws and puntuation in the say all again!

2010-01-14 Thread susie Q
Hi I had an issue with the punctuation before, and got it fixed but when I had
my last computer crash, I now have a different issue.
In my Say All, I have scan soft Samantha, reading, and she says the
punctuation, quote, and dashes, not sure if she says exclaim or not, but so far,
it is just dash, quote, and semicolon, I have it all set as I was told to set
it, even went into the punctuation settings, and set some of them to all, and
it is fine, when Read is being used, but when Samantha is reading it is not the
way I like it, thanks for any help Sue

Re: [JAWS-Users] converting table to text

2010-01-14 Thread Brian Lee
Hi Kimsan,

1. Move the cursor into a cell in the table.

2. Press Alt key and then use right arrow until you get to the layout tab.
The design and layout tabs are added to the right end of the bottom part of
the ribbon when the cursor is in a table.

3. use tab key to the lower part of the ribbon and the first button will
be the select button.

4. Press enter key on the select button and then use down arrow to the
"table" choice and press enter key. Be sure not to use any navigational
keystroke after selecting the table.

5. Press Alt key to go back to the ribbon, and if focus is not on the
layout tab then use right arrow until "layout" is chosen.

6. If you want to you can use tab key until you get to the choice for
converting a table to text, but it is faster if you use shift+tab a few
times. Press enter key on the button for converting the table to text.

7. In the resulting dialog box the focus will be on a radio button that
chooses tabs as the separator to be used in the conversion. This will leave
columns of text across the page separated by tab stops. If you want to use
paragraph marks for the separator then use up arrow to that radio button.
You can also use down arrow and choose the comma as a separator or use down
arrow again and be moved to an edit box where you can specify a different
type of separator. However, the most common is to use the paragraph mark or
tabs for the separator.

8. After choosing the separator use tab key to the OK button and press
enter key. This step should complete the conversion.

Take care.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Og on Domain

2010-01-14 Thread Bill Tipton
Hi Graham,

Choose Local PC as your domain, unless you have a MS Network with a domain set
up. Default is local PC. You may see your actual PC
name, but should say "local".

While you are on the domain field you can scroll through your choices with the
arrow keys.
I hope this helps.
Bill

password numbers.

Any idea what the log on Domain would be.
