Re: [JAWS-Users] Adobe Flash Player Update
I'm not sure about others, but even when I'm able to update the flash player with the prompt, it still won't update correctly. I need to use the uninstall tool and install the new version from the website. I'm surprised Adobe hasn't done something concerning accessibility with uploads, as well as using the Flash player. If you type in an Email address or web site address Word should change it to a hyperlink. It is actually a hyperlink field. The hyperlink can be activated by moving the cursor into the field, pressing the application key, and using the "open hyperlink" choice in the context menu. Insert with F7 can also be used in Word to list links and then enter key on the link will move to the destination that the link points to. If this is not the case with Word 2002 then first select the text that is to be changed to a link, press CTRL+K to bring up the dialog box for specifying the type of link to use. If the link is for a web page then be sure the entire address is in the edit box and use tab key to a list of choices for determining the type of link. It will likely be a choice for current file or web page that you want to use. Use the OK button to make your text a hyperlink. If it is an Email address then from the list of choices choose Email instead of "current file or web page." You can also have a bookmark in your document being pointed to by the hyperlink, in which case you would use down arrow in the list of choices to the bookmark choice. Headings in a document is another destination that hyperlinks can point to. When you create a table of contents Word uses headings as contents entries and creates links to the headings in a document. Re: [JAWS-Users] Selective Startup In Win7
As a matter of fact they are already archived up there and have been for several years now. Look on the tips and tricks page for the computer tips page above which you'll find the terms page that has almost 800 terms on there at this point and continues to grow weekly. Hi All; When I am making a Word document that contains web addresses or email addresses, what can I do to make these links active like in an email? What I'm wanting to do is be able to click on a web link and have it open like it does in an email. I am running XPSP3, Office Home 2002, IE8, OE, Jaws10 / 11 latest, and a partridge in a pear tree. All help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks much. Take care. Mike For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/

[JAWS-Users] Presentation and a question about remote desktop with Jaws
Hi, my name is Mario, I'am Italian, and this is the first time tthat I write to this list. In these days I'am working with the remote desktop on Windows Xp pro, and I've noticed some problems with Jaws: When I connect to my pc with Jaws 10 enabled from another windows xp with Jaws, the screen readers speaks with a metallic voice and all words are truncated and then continued when I press any key, for example: docu: pause, down arrov, than Jaws says: ments, and then another part of the next element in the list. To solve this issue I need to unload and reload Jaws, and then all works fine. Then, when I disconnect using start / disconnect, and not "disconnect administrator", when I try to use the local pc directly and not remotely I insert the password and then find that Jaws isn't loaded, and I have to reload it manually. There are some solutions to these problems? why Jaws has to be reloaded and doesn't speak automatically when I re insert the passowrd? Thanks in advance. Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws lisencing question
Really? Last I tried to activate I was just asked for my authorization number. Oh yes, it's because I registered my license already some time last year. When you first activate your new license you will be asked to register. You can click register later and continue activation, but on the second computer or when you activate the same machine a second time you will be required to register and activation won't continue until you do. Hope this helps.
