Re: [JAWS-Users] PARTITION ASSISTANT
I think it should be pointed out that the freeware Partition Assistant Home Edition is only available for 32 bit Windows. If you plan to use this software for anything other than home use or on a 64 bit Windows computer, the paid version is required. If you host this great application on your site, this certainly should be stated. Agreed. I knew about this and did state I think that the Home Edition is for x86-based computers only. Nontechnically that means Windows XP, Vista 32 bit or 7 32 bit. Even Windows 2000 is supported. [JAWS-Users] JSS files
HI Recently I have been looking at Microsoft Works. I used to use Word 2003 and if I am not wrong the wordprocessor here in Works is very much the same, any ideas? I am currently woriking with the Works database and having some success. My question is can scripts for say Access could be assigned to the works database program or say excel scripts assigned to the works spreadsheet program. I must admit the calendar feature here in works is quite good as well, once you have mastered the way to use it. I appreciate the likes of Excel cannot be compared with the works spreadsheet but if I could get jaws to at least move between cells it would be a great start. At the moment there does not appear to be a way at all for jaws to announce the cell or where you are at all when tabbing or arrowing. Hence I was wondering if Excell scripts could be assigned to the works spreadsheet? I am using Windows seven, jaws 12 and probably the latest works program that comes free with most computers. Re: [JAWS-Users] Changes with un-install of older versions?
Hi Rich, There are several reasons for what happened but primarily, when you uninstall a Freedom Scientific product, especially jaws, a wizard is activated. The speech in that wizard runs at the default settings of course. If the speech is different from your own personal settings, you'd notice the change immediately. Nothing to worry about though. The fact that it did change the speech is a good thing because it tells me you were using the correct method to uninstall the software. There is an issue that occasionally arises when you are uninstalling older jaws versions. Some of the files need to be retained and that's why it's recommended that you use the built in procedure for doing it. Hi all; I have 11.0 and XP home. I was in the middle of un-installing my 10.0 to give me more space on my PC. As I was un-installing, the JAWS speech got very slow and I panicked, thinking I might be screwing up my settings, so, I canceled the un-instal. I still have the 10.0 and use the 11.0 version. Why did the speech get slow during this action? How or should I un-install my older versions? I assume I go to the ADD or Remove section and proceed with the directions of un-installing my 10.0. Oh, would this effect any of my merged settings on 11.0? Thank you for any help. There is a file in the shared script folder called ConfigNames.something in there you can assign various script files to different programs.
