Re: [JAWS-Users] changing firefox to not be default browser
For sure. I had always used only IE, but now seeing that Firefox can give me access to sites IE won't handle with Jaws, I may be interested in doing more experimenting with other browsers at somepoint. - Original Message - From: Flor Lynch florl...@iol.ie To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Tuesday, November 23, 2010 6:52 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] changing firefox to not be default browser For future reference, you may regard that whenever you install a new Web browser, whether it warns you or not during install, it will try to be the default browser. Betsy! It is a desktop keyboard that I have. Sometime ago, some other jaws-users subscriber was, like me, being driven around the bend by this dratted wheel, and I think, got an answer as to how it can be killed, or, at the very least, be made less sensitive. The little finger of my left hand, I swear doesn't touch the rotten thing, but it, the finger, only has to approach it which it does quite often when I am pressing keys on the number line, and then the cursor will, all of a sudden, have moved up a couple of lines. Just about drives me into insanity: not a very long journey I must admit, but a journey I am trying, with no thanks to the pseudo mouse, to defer for as long as is possible. Re: [JAWS-Users] The pseudo mouse
Ah, now it makes some sense to me. On my laptop, I have one of those built-in mice. All laptops are different, but on mine I press function key with the number 2 to turn off the mouse. I've also seen laptops that you turn off the mouse by pressing function key with #9. You could be wreckless like me and try different key combinations until you get it or check your user manual. Perhaps if you tell the list what kind of keyboard you have, someone will be able to give you the right combination. Good luck, Betsy At 07:50 PM 11/24/2010, you wrote: Betsy!
