Hi guys, I'm new to the list, but glad to be here.

I'm wondering if there are any jaws scripts written yet for twitter.
I'm running jaws11 with windows 7.
Any help in this matter would be helpful indeed,

Daily Tip:
Shortcuts Are Key

If you're like many PC users, you spend most of your work time at a desktop PC,
but often take a notebook PC when you leave the office. In doing so, you may
not learn all of the keyboard shortcuts that make life much easier with
notebook PCs, which have cramped keyboards and other input devices that are
less than user-friendly. Print out a list of shortcut commands on a sheet of

remember most shortcuts, but the more you put them to use, the easier your

the above key strokes were suggested to apparently open an email body with a

alt h opens up help in outlook and then beyond that x is not recognized as a
valid keystroke.
BTW, I tried this with outlook03 and assuming the same occurs with outlook

Re: [JAWS-Users] Unable to Access Billpay Page

2010-12-16 Thread Steve
Try alt-v for the view menu, D for decoding. You will probably have three
or more choices one of which is Western European Windows, one is auto, and
one will be utf8. There could be others.

I am not certain if it will help in your situation, but it's worth a shot.
Obviously, keep track of the changes you make in case you need to revert

Steve, How do you change the encoding in IE 8? There are a few pages I
can't get to work with Jaws 12 and IE 8. They work fine with Jaws 12 and
Firefox, so it's not a big deal, but I'd still like to see if different
encoding makes a difference. Thanks - Shari

Try pressing ctrl+F5 on the page. that might change something since the
last time you visited. Ensure IE8 is maximized.

Perhaps, then, you can email the problem to Freedom Scientific tech
support. It sounds like JAWS is misreading some controls in internet
Explorer 8. You could outline the necessity for them of setting up an
account, at least for testing purposes. Have you gone through the form
elements not in Forms Mode? If not, try that, only entering forms Mode
when you must.

Hi Guys,

Here is a summary and I'm just trying to see if I left any stone
unturned.

My wife is running an HP 64-bit Win 7 computer with the latest
version of Jaws 12, as well as Jaws 11. Over the past three days,
she is unable to access her billpay page on her Credit Union
account with IE8. She can access it with Firefox and with System
Access to Go using IE8, but not with Jaws. I tried running IE8 in
32-bit mode, with the same result. Tried a repair on Jaws, still
no-go. Tried a System Restore back to a time when we knew she
could access that site, and it still won't work with IE8.

She went to a friend's house who has virtually the identical
computer (same HP model but with a different monitor and a smaller
hard drive) and she could access the credit union site using that
lady's version of Jaws 11. We confirmed that the IE8 security
settings are the same as what our friend has.

Anyone have any ideas as to what would cause Jaws to not access
the website? Is there something I'm missing? Don't know how to
handle this with FS support, unless we create some kind of dummy
account they can use.

Try alt-v for the view menu, D for decoding. You will probably have three
or more choices one of which is Western European Windows, one is auto, and
one will be utf8. There could be others.

I am not certain if it will help in your situation, but it's worth a shot.

Issue solved.

The control f5 didn't seem to work, but I set IE8 to a different
encoding scheme which appears to have resolved the problem. Western
European Windows.

Alternatively, a Person can buy a second battery.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Office 2010 Starter?

2010-12-16 Thread Brian Lee
Hi Ann,

The actual scrip file being used by Microsoft Word 2010 Professional is
Microsoft Word 2010.JSS. You can use JAWS key with 0 when in Word 2010
Basic to find out the name of the script file in use. The seven files with
Microsoft Word 2010 as the name are in c:\ProgramData\Freedom
Scientific\JAWS\12.0\Settings\Enu. They are: Microsoft Word 2010.JBS,
Microsoft Word 2010.JCF, Microsoft Word 2010.JDF, Microsoft Word 2010.JGF,
Microsoft Word 2010.JKM, Microsoft Word 2010.JSB, Microsoft Word 2010.JSD,
and Microsoft Word 2010.JSS. The script file has all the necessary
references to Winword in it for Word 2010 Professional. If the basic
version is not supported then when you use insert+0 you might get an empty
JSS file. I suppose you could try copying the code from the existing
Microsoft Word 2010.JSS file into a new one to see how it works with the
basic version, you can always delete it if it doesn't work well if the file
has no code in it when you start.

Hopefully, someone else can give more or better information.

Take care.
