I'm using JAWS 11 which I have just installed and when I reply to messages
it appears as if there's nothing on the screen. It doesn't read the
message I'm replying to nor what I write in reply. The JAWS cursor will
read what's on the screen, so I know there's something written. Has
anyone experienced this and if so, how can I fix the problem?

Re: [JAWS-Users] settings not saving?

2011-03-12 Thread James Flusche
Hi Kliphton, If you are only making one change in the settings center. You
just need to press the OK button when you are done to save the changes.
If you are making two or more changes in the settings center, then you need to
press the apply button each time you make a change, then when you are finished
press the OK button to save all changes.
I hope this helps.

2011-03-12 Thread Mike & Barbara In Arcadia
Hi Susie;

To zip a file do the following;
1. Find & highlight but, do not open the file you want to zip.
2. Press your applications / context menu key.
3. Arrow down to, Sent to submenu, & press enter. Or, you can press the
letter, N, after pressing the applications / context menu key.
4. Press enter on, Compressed (zipped) Folder. This copies & zips the
folder, then you should be able to find the zipped file at the bottom of
the list of folders / files of whatever folder / file you are working in.
It will have a , .zip, extension.

Hope this helps. Take care.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Is It JAWS Or Is It WLM Settings?

That could be one of 3 things.
1. That function is not in the scripts for WLM .
2. The function is broke if there.
3. That function is there for outlook mail.

Hi all, Can jaws perform the following task:

1. go directly to the first place marker when a web page loads?
2. Usually, jaws will indicate us about the numbers of headings, lings
and frames. Can we instruct jaws to indicate us about other elements
such as lists or form fields?
3. Is there any keystroke that will tell us about the number of lines,
headings etc?

4. By using jaws, can I go to the next unchecked check box?

Re: [JAWS-Users] .RAR file how to make one

2011-03-12 Thread Mike & Barbara In Arcadia
Howdy Rick;

I was just curious on how they were made. I was playing around with 7Zip &
didn't notice an option in there on making a .RAR file so when I googled how
to make a .RAR file, it was suggested in 1 of the posts' that 7Zip would do
this task but, it doesn't. What I ultimately wanted to do was to create a
.RAR file so I could type up a set of steps on how to extract the files from
.RAR files using 7Zip. Thank you for your helpful information. Take care.

Re: [JAWS-Users] replying directly to sender?

2011-03-12 Thread tim

It don't matter what email client you use. You
still have to be on the email you want to reply
to. All the short cut key does is start the new email and who its replieing to.
That is why i use Eudora. No weird modifier keys
and it does what you command it to do! you don't
even have to jump through hoops for your
attachments. They are in a folder just waiting for you.

Not in previous version, you just hit jaws key r and shift and it was done,
didn't have to make sure of anything. What would be the point of the
command if you have to make sure the address was highlighted, that would
defeat the purpose of the command.

To reply to sender it's insert shift and the letter R, remember one must
have the sender's email open at the time of reply.
