Hi David,
Yes it is worth it, get yourself signed up. I have attached to this a guide
to help a little but keep in mind the site is always changing. The easiest
way I found is to go to m.facebook.com although you need to set your
profile up on the regular site.
Good luck and have fun!

BTW, this guide was given to me by a nice person from this list a while ago.

installed and activated, hitting alt Q together and then q again brings up

Hello list,

Yesterday I read a blurb in the Wall Street Journal regarding the ribbons in
the newer versions of Office and how even though there isn't an option to
bring them back from within Office itself, there are apparently companies
that provide add-ons that will make them appear again.

My question is, has anyone tried out any of these add-ons on their computers
and if so, is there any issue either during the installation process and or
interaction with the add-on with Jaws? I guess I'm somewhat getting used to
the ribbons, but if there is a means to get back the old menus, it would
make it a lot easier. If it matters, I am using Office 2010 and JFW 13.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Office classic menu add-ons

Thanks,

Slight correction: JAWS for windows was released in at least 1994 and the

I did find out and confirmed my question of when did I get jaws.
Jaws for dos was released 1987. Jaws for windows was released 1993/94 in
Bata.those serial numbers started at 1,000. The public release was in 1995
and those serial numbers started at 1200. I was within the first 50
individuals to purchase jaws for windows. I just helped install and set up
the jaws for windows at our local library. That serial is in the 465,000
range.
I was talking to one of the original deck support guys. He is quite happy
retired from tech support. He did it for over 30 years.

Thanks to all who responded.

yes I'm a huge proponent and very pleased user of 'classic menus for office'
for both office 07 and office 10 which can be purchased at www.addintools.com.
Very simple, everything is totally accessible. Once installed and activated,
hitting alt Q together and then q again brings up the classic menu in all its
glory.

If yout want to justchat with them, well, this would mean thatyou'd have to
creat an AOL account and you'd need someone to help you with the captcha,
but you could use AIM. That's what I do. Then you don't have to deal with
the mess on the face book page. What's more, AIM can eb told to tell you
when someone is on or off line.

well, it's a matter of what you want to do with it.
Personally, all I use facebook for is promoting my business and
keeping in touch with a few friends. I don't play the many games I
constantly get requests to join.

but yes, Facebook is quite accessible.
There can be a lot going on so maybe a good idea would be reviewing
the various Jaws keys to help you navigate web pages, jump between
headings, links, lists and other html elements.
