Hello.
Windows7 JFW14 and Windows Explorer, the file /folder manager.

I've set my Windows Explorer to present all files and folders in a vertical
list view. IN any folder anywhere in the hard drive, hitting control plus
'e' takes me directly to the edit field to search for specific files. Well
how do I get back to my list view where I was using the kbd? Using F6
repeatedly or tabbing repeatedly doesn't do it.

Thx much?

Re: [JAWS-Users] Toshiba Laptop layout

2012-11-20 Thread Flor Lynch

Hi,

Finally, having got access to the user's manual pdf by way of pdf2txt,
Jamal mazrui's wonderworking program, which got around the silly
password to open dialogue in the process, I was then able to (of course)
read the thing and find the way to turn the function keys back to their
standard uses (and thus disable the FN key). My Model is one of the
C850/D type, or something close to it. You go into the HWSetup utility,
which is in Toshiba -> Tools -> Utilities. In the Keyboard tab, there is
a group of 2 radiobuttons: one for the special function keys, the other
for the standard keys. You are then warned that A reboot is necessary
for the changes to take effect. then they do upon reboot.

(With the pronunciation - by Eloquence - of HWSetup, you could easily
dismiss its value.)

Hi,

That's about making the FN key sticky by checking the checkbox. (In my
laptop it is already ' turned on' - as we would understand the terms -
and as I have indicated; but unhchecked). Checking it makes the key
sticky, and makes it make a soundd when pressed. You may then
customize how long it remains sticky, etc. but unchecking it does not
turn off FN as such. Connecting another keyboard does. I think we must
go to the BIOS or startup etc, for turning off FN functionality on the
native keyboard, as Scorpio has indicated. there's nothing referring
to it in the Windows Mobility Center.

hello there;
are you using windows 7?

if so, I would check to see if, you can't make this change in the
mobility

center.
if you press windows key+x, this should bring up the windows mobility
center.

Right. here's a question. I think the answer may be No, but i'll ask
anyway. In several of the JAWS keystrokes, it's necessary on the
Toshiba by
default to also use the FN key, or the keystroke won't work. Can this
be
changed so that we don't have to use the FN key (in conjunction
with - for
example - the capslock or Insert, and F4 keys) when, say, unloading
JAWS? or

again those modifier keys with F7 when bringing up the list of links
dialogue?

I'm not aware of a Freedom Printer in JAWS. There is one in Open Book however.
Once the drivers are installed, you should be able to select "freedom import
printer" from the list of printers that appears when you prepare to print a
document.

[JAWS-Users] JAWS 13 and 14 issue with dynamic forms in IE9

2012-11-20 Thread Michael Moore
I have a quick question. We are experiencing a problem with several
internal dynamic web applications when using JAWS 13 or 14 with IE9. If the
form is updated dynamically on the client side via java script JAWS is
failing to see the change in the form and is misreporting form field labels
until you press JAWSkey+esc. This issue does not happen when using FireFox
13. We have also determined that the problem does not occur unless IE9 is
in compatibility mode. Has anyone else seen this problem and does anyone
know any way of getting around the issue besides JAWSkey+esc?

Subject: [JAWS-Users] editing a cell in office 2007

Hi,

I am using Jaws T14 and windows7. I ran into a problem in editing a cell in
office 2007.

Whenever I edit a cell and make the necessary changes and press enter, Jaws
does not speak the content of the edited cell. I would have to do say word to
hear the content of the cell to be sure that the change is correct.

This problem does not exist in the previous versions of Jaws.

I am hoping that this is not a strip change in Jaws14. Does anyone know is
there a fix or solution to this problem so that I don't have to make that
unnecessary key stroke?

Any suggestions will greatly be appreciated.

Take care.

Lennie
