[JAWS-Users] page loading very slow
I do not understand since I have the new router things were going fairly good until yesterday. One of my start pages is weatherbug.com. Yesterday it took a while for that page to come up. Today it took over an hour. Now during that time my wife using her MacBook it came up immediately. I put all of the internet settings back to default and still the problem is there. It no longer takes an hour but several minutes. Other pages are instant. Any ideas on where to look. I am using win 7 32 bit and the latest jaws and I.E. Now my rant, I have worked on an IBM 1400, RCA Spectra 70, Burroughs 5500,6500, 6700 and 7800 and the IBM 3090. Non of these mainframes ever gave me the problems that these pcs do. I am convinced that pcs should be used as doorstops. --- Please visit my home page, it is motivational, educational, inspirational with a touch of humor. Re: [JAWS-Users] page loading very slow
Hi, You mentioned that weatherbug.com is one of your start pages. You also mentioned that other pages are loading normally. If you have a lot of pages opened at the same time I guess that one would be slow to load. The next time this type of problem occurs, try clearing your browser's cache. If only one page is loading slowly, the problem is most likely not your router. Again some times a simple clearing of the browser's cache is enough to fix slow loading pages. Another thing you might try is removing cookies and history and temp files. You will find it in the browser tools menu. Should be the first choice you come to in the list. Sometimes a bad cookie or temp file can make web pages act funny. At 06:06 PM 8/10/2013, you wrote: thanks, there is nothing there nor in add ons. Not only does alt plus any number key not work, but when opening every email, I hear, contact's name not found, subject not found. [JAWS-Users] page coming up very slow
Now I totally am at a loss. The weatherbug.com page did not come up using I.e. 10. So I just tried Firefox. Again it did not come up. I asked my wife to use her laptop and the page was almost instant. I am getting to hate pcs even more. This is win 7 32 bit machine and a new modem/router connecting at 7.5 mg dsl.So the problem is not with I.e. or Firefox. Any suggestions on where to look? You are all too far away to hear the crash when it goes out the 2nd story window. --- Please visit my home page, it is motivational, educational, inspirational with a touch of humor.
