[JAWS-Users] Urgent, After Long Term Use Jaws Refusing to Authorize
I'm running Jaws 11 on Windows XP, and haven't had a problem with it, until now. I had to disconnect my power supply this evening and when it was reconnected it wanted to be authorized. I followed the steps (tried every method more then once) and get a message about not having a licence. To put it mildly this is idiotic, I have a licence and key, it was running six hours ago as it had been for over a year. Anyone know what I can do? All the information Jaws is looking for Must already be on my hard drive! Because waiting until Monday to deal with Freedom Scientific is not a happy thought, ... having to restart the machine every forty minutes complicates life no end. Not to mention my power supply issue has not been resolved yet and every restart is a breath holding event. Hi, that's up to you if you want Jaws 15, but however, if you want to try out the new vocalizer expressive voices, you need Jaws 15 to run it. [JAWS-Users] JAWS 15 and Windows 8.1 preview
Hi all on this list, Sorry if this has already been discussed, but I have just joined this list. Using Windows 8.1 Preview for testing and JAWS 15 Beta. I have noticed that if navigating through the apps in the start screen, it is very sluggish. It is about a half second delay. Has anyone else experienced the same? [JAWS-Users] jaws and xp mode
Hi everyone: I presently am using a computer with jaws 13 (have not received 14 yet though it has been purchased) and the pc has windows 7 pro and xp mode as a virtual machine installed. I have seen various things on the net from it doesn't work at all, that it works great, you need a jaws installation for xp mode and for the windows 7 programmes and that you need to have 2 jaws installations along with Vmware player to do this. I am already using Advance JAWS verbosity but still, the commands that use modifiers like Control, Windows & shift remain not mute. This is quite interesting. I was unable to download them with jaws 15. It would tell me that the page was visited after I tried to activate the link. I tried this a few times. Then restarted the computer and again no luck. ran jaws 14 and the new voices are now being downloaded. I suspect I will have no more problems. The problem is he is trying to install Vocalizer voices which were available for Jaws 14 onto his Jaws 15 installation. At this time, it doesn't appear that those are supported since FS upgraded the Vocalizer Voices to Vocalizer Expressive. Thanks for the help Mike. Indeed, your instruction was helpful. Now I have the control to which keys are supposed to be muted and keys that should remain spoken. However, my major concern and desire to silent JAWS from saying keystrokes that use modifiers remains a big question. Yes modifiers such as control, windows key, and shift are present in the list for managing keys. However, I noticed that settings center don't allow Users to toggle the mute/speak state of these keys. As a result, standard commands that we do always use like Windows + M, Control + S, Windows + T & Windows + B were left spoken. If there is no way to silent these keys, it's okay. [JAWS-Users] the new voices in 15
I just installed Karen, Daniel and Ava or how ever she spells her name. In my opinion Karen has the edge so far as pitch changing for capital letters at least by default. I have not fiddled with other settings so far but the responsiveness is quite good I must say. I do like them so far, FYI I installed the highest quality voices. [JAWS-Users] Removing filters
A couple of days ago I connected my old expermental computer to install the jaws 15 beta and ran all of the windows and jaws updates. I found a filter with over one thousand e-mails in it. I no longer need this filter and would like to remove it. I have forgotten how to remove filters and appreciate it if someone could refresh my memory with some step by step instructions. [JAWS-Users] jaws 15 saying document on some web pages and out look 2007 and extra voices

I tried to reinstall them with jaws 15 running. At that point I am offered 3 choices modify, repair or remove. I suspect that if I remove they will be taken away from 14 so I chose modify.
