If you need to close multiple applications and windows at once, then
it will definitely be time consuming. Try Close All Windows, it is a
 light-weight

tool which closes all open windows simultaneously with a single click.

This tool was originally developed back in 2006 for Windows XP only.
But why not give it a shot on Windows 7 as well? This tool has no

run it and it will close all windows instantly. To make things easier,
pin it to the Windows 7 Taskbar. A simple click and it closes all

[JAWS-Users] vipre anti virus

2014-04-04 Thread Lenny McHugh
My wife noticed that vipre antivirus software has a neat feature for the
sighted community. When doing a google or duckduckgo search all safe sites
have a green check mark and a red mark for unsafe sites. I tried to find

have jaws tell me before I would click on one. Vipre still will not let me

No it is not free.
however, if a person can not afford to buy the deluxe program, if that
person e-mails sword searcher during the free 30 day trial, they will let
them run the trial software indefinently on their computer.

They have a free trial version and a paid deluxe version.
Can you just put their link to their website's home page on your website so
that other blind people will know about this great product?.

Hello Don,

Switching between MSAA modes when using JAWS is application-specific.
Start
in the application where you want to use it. Press JAWS key with
function
key 6 to launch the settings center. Type MSAA in the search box and
then
use down arrow key to the second of two items, which deals with the
MSAA
mode. Press spacebar until the enhanced setting is selected. Use the
Apply
button and then the OK button. If you get double echoing of text then
you
might need to adjust the screen echo. Here is some informational text
from

the window where you change MSAA modes:

Use this combo box to select one of the following MSAA modes:
Automatic,
Enhanced, or Classic. Select Automatic to use MSAA when it is
appropriate
for such menus. Normally you do not need to change to the Enhanced
setting.

If you know this application is MSAA enabled, changing this setting to
Enhanced may give better results. This setting in combination with the
Screen Echo setting of highlighted text may provide too much speech
(double
echo). If so, change the Screen Echo setting in the User Options
dialog to
Echo no Text. Using this setting will not allow Window Class
assignments
to take effect as defined in the Window Classes dialog. Classic is
known as
JAWS Legacy MSAA handling. This setting in combination with the Screen
Echo
setting of highlighted text may provide too much speech (double echo).
If
so, change the Screen Echo setting in the User Options dialog to Echo
no
Text. Using this setting will not allow Window Class assignments to
take

effect as defined in the Window Classes dialog. This option is only
available for specific applications and cannot be set for Default/All
Applications.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Enabling MSAA mode

Hi All,

It has been a very long time since I have tried to do any kind of
scripting
for JAWS, and I have forgotten most of what I knew back then (JAWS 7
days).

I have an application which windig says uses mostly MSAA controls. I
need a

quick and dirty way to get started using this application.

I vaguely remember that there is or was a way to turn MSAA recognition
on
without using scripts, but I just can't remember the keystrokes to do
it.

BTW: I am running jaws 14.0.9002 (no I haven't upgraded to jaws 15 due
to

java instabilities I observed).

Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Big problem with Face book

2014-04-04 Thread Deb Caldbeck
This email is quite old, but might I make a suggestion. In my case, my
Profile is not completely filled out, and occasionally Facebook will give me
choices of where I work etc. These are from my friend's profiles. If I
were to accidently hit enter or spacebar, this information would be added to
my profile. This is on the mobile site for sure. I don't know how one
would delete this information, but I could see how it could easily end up on
one's profile.

Try www.facebook.com/mobile or get on the facebook.com page and press
the mobile link and bookmark the page. All of this said, there are
things the site won't do for me, such as confirm a reply or comment I
make when someone sends me a link, etc. I'm not even sure I was able
to post, as I get an error message when I leave the site asking me if
I want to finish my comment.

The mobile site is better with screen readers than the regular site,
though. Pity Zuckerberg and company can't make their site as
 accessible as linkedin.

the only way it can be deleted is help from a sighted person. I know
because this is what happened to me. I don't have a complete profile and
when facebook gives me suggestions as you said if I press enter on one of
them, it will be added.
there is no way the false info can be deleted from someone using a
screenreader. perhaps that’s why facebook is not fully assessible to blind
