Re: [JAWS-Users] Enabling MSAA mode
You mean, JAWSKey with nnumber-row 6 key, to get into the Settings Center. JAWSKey+F6 is related to HTML elements. - Original Message - From: "Brian Lee" To: Sent: Tuesday, April 01, 2014 11:13 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Enabling MSAA mode Hello Don, Switching between MSAA modes when using JAWS is application-specific. Start in the application where you want to use it. Press JAWS key with function key 6 to launch the settings center. Type MSAA in the search box and then use down arrow key to the second of two items, which deals with the MSAA mode. Press spacebar until the enhanced setting is selected. Use the Apply button and then the OK button. If you get double echoing of text then you might need to adjust the screen echo. Here is some informational text from the window where you change MSAA modes: Use this combo box to select one of the following MSAA modes: Automatic, Enhanced, or Classic. Select Automatic to use MSAA when it is appropriate for such menus. Normally you do not need to change to the Enhanced setting. If you know this application is MSAA enabled, changing this setting to Enhanced may give better results. This setting in combination with the Screen Echo setting of highlighted text may provide too much speech (double echo). If so, change the Screen Echo setting in the User Options dialog to "Echo no Text." Using this setting will not allow Window Class assignments to take effect as defined in the Window Classes dialog. I have an application which windig says uses mostly MSAA controls. I need a quick and dirty way to get started using this application. I vaguely remember that there is or was a way to turn MSAA recognition on without using scripts, but I just can't remember the keystrokes to do it. BTW: I am running jaws 14.0.9002 (no I haven't upgraded to jaws 15 due to java instabilities I observed). Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated. Re: [JAWS-Users] Big problem with Face book
This email is quite old, but might I make a suggestion. In my case, my Profile is not completely filled out, and occasionally Facebook will give me choices of where I work etc. These are from my friend's profiles. If I were to accidently hit enter or spacebar, this information would be added to my profile. This is on the mobile site for sure. I don't know how one would delete this information, but I could see how it could easily end up on one's profile. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Rose Combs Sent: Sunday, March 09, 2014 6:25 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Big problem with Face book I have a major problem with Face book, in my profile, apparently somehow it has parsed places etc from some of my friends, so I don't actually live where it says I do, I don't work for a University in South Dakotas, I did not go to high school in Mesa, Arizona. Re: [JAWS-Users] Big problem with Face book
the only way it can be deleted is help from a sighted person. I know because this is what happened to me. I don't have a complete profile and when facebook gives me suggestions as you said if I press enter on one of them, it will be added. there is no way the false info can be deleted from someone using a screenreader. perhaps that’s why facebook is not fully assessible to blind users! -Original Message- From: Deb Caldbeck Sent: Friday, April 04, 2014 7:58 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Big problem with Face book This email is quite old, but might I make a suggestion.
