Hello folks:

There may be an alternative method for solving the function keys/media
keys behaviour problem without having to resort to the BIOS. This from a
Google article I found

2011 4:19 PM

Suggested Answer

On Windows 7, just open Windows Mobility Center, and toggle Function Key Row

to Function Key instead of Multimedia key. It's as easy as that...

I know this can be done because I did it a few years ago for the lap top I
have at home. I don't recall the details, but I do recall that it involved
the use of Control Panel. The computer I am using here at work right now is
a desktop, so I am working from memory. There may be something equivalent in

other versions of Windows.

I hope this helps some one!

Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws on a thumb drive

2014-06-24 Thread Mike O'Brien
Hi

Go to

http://www.freedomscientific.com/downloads/jaws/JAWS-MAGic-usb-drive.asp#download

to read about the requirements of using JAWS on a thumb drive and download the
thumb drive version of JAWS. Some limitations to using JAWS on a thumb drive
are that the FS video intercept must be installed on the computer's hard drive
and unless there is a JAWS authorization on that computer, you will be running
in 40 minute demo mode. Also you will need the appropriate version of JAWS, 32
or 64 bit, that matches the computer you are using it on.

Re: [JAWS-Users] out of table mode

2014-06-24 Thread Scott Duck
Hi,
I'm not sure exactly what you mean out of its table mode. If you have a
table on a webpage, you can copy it into Word or into Excel and then do
various things with it. For example, I just had a webpage table of contact
info from which I needed to extract E-mail addresses for a group message. I
copied the table into Excel. I then copied just the E-mail column and
pasted that into Word. I then did a search and replace and replaced all the
carriage returns with a semicolon and a space. I now have my list of E-mail
addresses that I can paste into the send field of my E-mail. Sometimes you
just have to get kind of creative.
HTH,
Scott Duck

Hi Ann,

If you go into your Gmail account on line, try looking in all mail. You
might want to quickly check your inbox there, as well as the spam folder and
the trash. Trash is emptied every 30 days, so if the original was sent
longer ago than that, it won't be there, and I can't guaranty that it will

Re: [JAWS-Users] the June update is out

2014-06-24 Thread David Ferrin
Interesting, I tried downloading it on 2 different machines and no joy. On
my 64 bit system I tried a direct update using the option under the help
menu. Oh well it's off to the web site again to see it works. Possibly
because the system is overloaded because of all the other downloads going on
at this time.

I managed to download the 32 bit version but the link to the 64 bit version
is broken, at least so far as I can tell.

Re: [JAWS-Users] the June update is out

2014-06-24 Thread Flor Lynch
It helps here to distinguish between updates and upgrades. This one is
an update, i.e., an update within the JAWS15 general version, or a patch
to an existing JAWS15 version.

If or when you upgrade to JAWS16 when it comes out in October/November
or subsequently, then that will be an upgrade from one version to the
next, i.e., an upgrade from JAWS15 to jaws16 which will cost you:
Either the amount charged on your SMA or about $125, (depending on your
type of JAWS - - Standard or Professional.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws update notification:

2014-06-24 Thread Flor Lynch
It's the automatic notification of updates checkbox , in the JAWS
basic submenu or dialogue. Go down about three times from the beginning
there, and you should find it. Check it with SPACEBAR.

Good morning group! I have lost my notification button in the Jaws
basic

menu, and I can't seem to get it back.

I am running Jaws 15.0923.

I have unloaded jaws and reinstalled it and it doesn't seem to fix the
problem.I have even tried a Jaws repair.

Nothing seems to work.

Can anyone give me any suggestions?

In advance thank you for any help.
