There are if memory serves 2 ISO files in that zip archive. You really only need the ISO named mega I believe. It is over 4 GB in size so it would be pretty hard to miss. Simply burn it to a DVD. That DVD will then contain everything you need for installing every possible version of Windows 7. The only item you will have to provide will be the product key for the system you are installing it on. The installer will come up talking if you have a USB sound card plugged in to the system after rebooting it. Most internal cards won't work but since you can pick up a external for less than $15 that should be no problem. The only caveat that crosses my mind is you must be aware of the drive letter the optical drive is using. By default the package is coded to install off of the D: drive. Since none of my systems use that drive for optical media I had to edit the install windows bat file. Simply change the drive letter to reflect where the DVD is located and after saving your changes hit enter on the batch file to start the process. Everything is in tab order, that should be all you need to know in order to get started good luck. Re: [JAWS-Users] Help opening scanned pdf documents
If you have Open Book, just control/p at the doc and it will migrate to Open Book for reading. I think that the JAWS OCR feature works, too. Ages ago, I used the Microsoft Image Writer, but it was clunky. When you control/p at the doc, the print command brings up available options, which will include the Freedom Printer if you have Open Book enabled (you can even use it in demo/40 minute mode if you are pressed to read a pdf . You might try copying the entire document to Word to see if you can get anything. My assistant used to do that before I got Open Book. Control/A will mark the entire pdf, Control/C will copy it and Control/V paste it. I'd be interested to see other lister responses. Hi Arianna, I don't know. I always use a USB full size / desktop style keyboard when I clean my wife's computers. If people that use Lenovo laptops knew what model you're using, I'm sure you would get more precise answers. From my understanding the FN key placement can vary from 1 Lenovo laptop to another. Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS and the Canon Pixma, MG2220 printer/scanner/copier
Hi Allen: I also have a Canon, (a MG5350), which also posed little problems with printing, but only with scanning. This was because the icons were graphical and Jaws couldn't read them enough for me to figure out! I am also using Jaws 15. Here's a few basic steps to do a scan based on my memory at the moment: 1. Turn the Canon on. 2. When it finishes its start up sequence with the cartridges, lift the top lid from the front up and away from you. 3. Place the item to be scanned face down and sideways on the glass bed, with the paper pushed up to the top left as you stand in front of the printer. 4. Close the lid and return to the computer. 5. Go to the Desktop, and locate the icon: Canon MP Navigator EX 5.0 which should have been automatically installed during the installation. 6. Change Jaws Cursor to Route Jaws to PC. 7. Enter on that icon, look for the lineAuto Scan. I normally select that line with the shift key and right arrow). 8. At this stage, I generally change Jaws back to the PC Cursor. Follow the steps to do the scan. 9. It will save the image in a folder (I think it is somethingt to do with Scanned Images), but probably defaulted as a .pdf file. If I seem hazy, that is because I renamed the folder to read Canon Scanned Images. Good luck. Please feel free to contact me off List if you need further assistance. Below is a list of what the function keys do, possibly for yours as well. Also, here are steps that might help disable your mouse pad. ustomizing the ThinkPad pointing device You can customize the ThinkPad pointing device to achieve the extended functions of the ThinkPad pointing device. To customize the ThinkPad pointing device, do the following: 1. Go to Control Panel. 2. Click Hardware and Sound . Mouse . ThinkPad. 3. Follow the instructions on the screen. I don't know if the following is the same as on your laptop but, here is the function key functions on a Lenovo 500s f1: Mutes/unmutes the sound. f2: Decreases the volume level. f3: Increases the volume level. f4: Closes the currently active window. f5: Refreshes the desktop or the currently active window. f6: Enables/disables the touchpad and the touchpad buttons. f7: Enables/disables airplane mode. (Wireless) f8: Switches the active program. f9: Turns on/off the backlight of the display. f10: Projects to a connected display. f11: Decreases display brightness. f12: Increases display brightness. Hopefully this info is helpful. Take care. What normally shows up in the properties work sheet doesn't show up in my two Lenovos. I've tried f6 and f8 and neither one of those does it. Any other suggestions? I have noticed that when I press the function key plus f5 on my laptop to enable the mouse pad, JAWS does not let me know it has occurred; nor does it let me know if the procedure has been disabled. Is this standard or is there something else I need to change in the settings centre in order for JAWS to make these announcements? Thanks.
