Re: [JAWS-Users] amazon again
Tamera, My wife and I both use Jaws. She just submitted an order and it worked as normal for her. I just submitted an order yesterday afternoon, and the only thing I had to do was to double-click the checkout button with the Jaws cursor left-mouse simulation numpad slash. I don't know if that methodology would work in Windows 8.1 since the review mode is different; and I don't have access to 8.1 as I haven't installed the upgrade on my older Vista laptop. (I'm sticking with Win 7 on the other boxes.) The other issue I had yesterday is updating the date on an expired credit card. In case anybody encounters this issue, here is a brief description and my resolution. Hopefully, Eric Damry can get a fix in... 1. If you need to update a Credit Card on Amazon, or I assume if you put in data for a new one, you will get a new screen. 2. There will be two menu buttons above the continue button. Going from the top, the first button will update the expiree year. 3. If you click on this button, it opens a bunch of years from 2014 through 2034 that are links. 4. When I entered on the correct link, in this case, 2018, and filled out the month in the same manner, I had no success after hitting continue. The month and year would show visited but the update would not get honored. 5. To get the update to work, I had to click on the first button menu for the year; double-click 2018 with the left-mouse, then open the second button menu for the month, double-click on 04 for April. Then, if I hit the Continue button, it would update the expiration date on my existing credit card. Hope this might help out others. I used Jaws 16 latest beta with IE 11. [JAWS-Users] Placing AVG in the System Tray and Out of the Alt+Tab Rotation
Hi All, I am working with a veteran who had his computer system partially configured by EVAS, the agency with whom Veteran Affairs contracts to provide computers to veterans with disabilities. The antivirus of choice installed is AVG and EVAS has what they call the Easy interface as well as the regular AVG interface. The issue is that it would be preferred if AVG simply worked in the background and not assume focus until called upon. Just like I prefer that JAWS be placed in the system tray and out of the Alt+Tab rotation, I would like to be able to accomplish this same with AVG. However, for the life of me, I cannot remember how to do this or whether this can be done with AVG at all. Before scrapping AVG and installing MSE in its place, I would appreciate any instructions or suggestions about accomplishing my desired goal. Thanks, Mauricio For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
Re: [JAWS-Users] Placing AVG in the System Tray and Out of the Alt+TabRotation
You can put AVG in the taskbar by going to taskbar and start menu. Tab to, customize notifications. Here you can select what appears in the taskbar. To hide the AVG window you should be able to do an alt f4 to close the window. It won't close AVG but only the window. __ Need help with that IDevice including IPhones, IPads and IPods? Hi Denny, I'll give this a try on Monday when I meet with this veteran again. As for pressing Alt+F4 to close the AVG window, I've done this but it remains in the Alt+Tab rotation.
