I used the built in feature of windows 7 restore previous version, this is a built in backup system which creates shadow backups if some things are not right in your folders you can use ‘restore previous version’ open the context menu of the folder or file that is not correct and scroll to restore previous version and you’ll get a choice of last week or something. many people don’t know about this, I found out by going to a windows 7 help page. sorry I didn’t copy the page that info from the internet I did the search rather quickly read the info then closed out without thinking. Good evening, I'll try to help but let me know if my suggestions don't help much as i'm not close to my computer at the moment, so i may not be copletelycurate. that being said, highlight the set of columns you wish to convert to a tablebe I should have started by saying that yes converting to a table would be easier. Now, after selecting, go to the intert tab on your ribons and navigate to tables grid. Press enter and you should be taken to a table grid. you could use the down arrow, but that takes longer, so up arrow at this point until you hear convert text to table. Follow the propts in the dialog boxbe one of them should give a choice which would allow you to use tab stops. be sure to choose the corrct number of columns or table won't come out right. choose ok and press enter when finishedand then move around your table. HTH, but let me know if i can help further. Kerry Kerryann Ifill On Mar 23, 2015, at 5:03 PM, Reed Poynter reed.poyn...@telus.net wrote: Hello, I'm using Windows 7, Word 2010 and JAWS 16. Re: [JAWS-Users] Installing WLM
Yes, you have the choice to install selective components, but in the list of components, sometimes JAWS does not read the icon for Mail. In that case, you must check the icon that is not read by JAWS. Then you uncheck the other icons you don't want. I always do this. I believe the most accessible version of WLM is 2009, because after version 2008, it is the most similar to OE, but its cursor is not as hyperactive as version 2008. I mean its focus does not jump very crazily from one place to another, but it still jumps occasionally from one place to another. I wonder why the developers have not noticed that. [JAWS-Users] Geek Squad and jumping JAWS
Hello- I just took my computer to Geek Squad for a tune-up and cleanup. I have done it several times in the past. This time I am running into several problems. When I have different Word docs open or I am writing an email using Outlook 2007 JAWS appears to jump to other Windows without warning. For example, I was writing an email and the focus kept jumping to things like the Desktop, time and date or battery check and I had to alt tab back to my email multiple times and its happening as I write this. The same thing happens when I am working in a MS Word doc. Any thoughts on how to get back my JAWS stability? I have JAWS 14 and Windows 7 Also, I went on the web and to my bank. When I tried to log in the bank gave me a notice that it did not recognize my computer and I had to go through a security process to get the recognition back. I never had these problems before with Geek Squad but I noticed that the people are new and not as sharp as the old ones who suddenly disappeared. [JAWS-Users] webroot
This is the email I got from the techniqual support. Nice that they tested it with jaws just to see if will work for blind nuts like me. Thank you for reaching out to us today. WSA has not been optimized to work with any screen reader... WSA has not been optimized to work with any screen reader programs. Navigating WSA with JAWS can be difficult and frustrating for visually impaired users, but it is possible and the content is read out loud. We were successful in using Jaws 14 with WSA ourselves. Please make sure your JAWS software is up to date. Our recommendation would be that once WSA is installed it be left alone, simply because it can be tricky to navigate, and instead to use the WSA Tray Icon to get a quick reading as to the status of the WSA application. To list the System Tray Icons List you would use INSERT+F11 and when moving through the list the Webroot product will indicate it is protecting the system (such as “Webroot SecureAnywhere v8.0.2.147 – Protected”) or the system is infected (such as “Webroot SecureAnywhere v8.0.2.147 – Infected”). With Windows 7, the system tray may not show WSA since it typically only displays 3 icons, but WSA can be forced to always be displayed there. Press the Windows key + B, then press Shift + F10. From the options, select Customize notification icons, then select Webroot, and then select Show icon and notifications. The 'Skim Reading' function, which is invoked using INSERT+CTRL+DOWN ARROW, can read the Webroot screen. The Skim Reading Dialog configuration Box can be brought up using INSERT+CTRL+SHIFT+DOWN ARROW. If you lose focus on the WSA program and want to bring it to the foreground the command INSERT+F10 does the trick. You can use an arrow key until you hear “Webroot SecureAnywhere” and then press the NUMPAD SLASH key to perform a left-mouse-click and then the Enter key to select. To install SecureAnywhere: 1. Download WSA and start the installer, the Installation screen is presented. 2. Click the NUMPAD MINUS key to activate the Jaws curser. 3. Use up/down arrow keys to listen for “Enter your keycode to install and activate your software”, you may have to use the right arrow key to move over to this text which is read out loud when moving across it. Then press the NUMPAD SLASH key to perform a left-mouse-click. 4. Enter your keycode and hit the Enter key. 5. If a User Account Control message appears, select Yes. If you have already downloaded the newest version of JAWS or are still encountering difficulties please contact tech support at 1-866-612-4227. this s ounds like a possible trojan, have you checked for spyware? - Original Message - From: wayne smith waynesoundsm...@earthlink.net To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Monday, March 23, 2015 5:44 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Geek Squad and jumping JAWS Hello- I just took my computer to Geek Squad for a tune-up and cleanup. Re: [JAWS-Users] Geek Squad and jumping JAWS
I just had the computer in to the Geek Squad for exactly that. They were supposed to clean it up. I'll take it back for another check but I wondered if they may have done something in updating or cleaning that messed up JAWS.
