I am getting to the end of my free trial.  Wish the program allowed you to
return to buy the program from within Chicken Nugget, I want it but I want
to know cost and I'd rather not go through history to find the site again,

if you want to sell it make it as easy as you can for the customer.  I will
get there, have 11 days to do so.

[JAWS-Users] Adventures with copying tables from pdf to a workable Excel file

So long as pdf tables are defined (just hit the letter t in the pdf to 
check if defined or not) the copy function in Windows will let you copy 
to Word.  There, a table appears but there is no facility I know of to 
name row and column titles in Word so that you can know the header for 
the column and row you are in.  However, by copying the entire Word 
table to Excel using Control A to highlight  the entire table you will 
get an Excel file whose column and row headers can be read after you 
first designate them using the Quick Settings (Insert V) feature in 
Excel.  But there's a catch


I copied a table from a pef to Excel using the above method but 
apparently entry was via link or formula from another spreadsheet (cells 
read with a range of addresses rather than its current address) and the 
first cell of the column titles was suppressed. This rendered column 
heads reading unworkable. But row headers read just fine.


Anyone know a better method for reading pdf tables than I suggested 
above?  Using Office 2010 and Win 7.

You're right, Mario.

1.  Press ALT+f  FOR THE FILE MENU AND PRESS THE LETTER t TO REACH THE Back
Stage section.
2.  Tab to Signatures and press the spacebar.
3. The system will give you the opportunity to add a new signature or modify
one which already exists.
4.  Tab to New and press Enter.
5.  You will be asked to name the signature.  She can use her name or
anything else which is appropriate.
6. There are options which ask you if you want the signature to be applied
on outgoing messages and on returns.  To make sure that the signature will
come up on those messages, choose the signature you have just created.
7. You will have the option to use whichever font you would like and choose
the size.  If she doesn't want to get involved with that, just keep tabbing.

You can also tab past the options to make the signature bold or written in
italics.  
8.  Finally, you will come to an Edit box where the signature is to be
recorded.  You can type anything in the box but I recommend that you use
only the necessary information and keep the signature as compact as
possible.

This may seem a bit convoluted, but it's not too bad really.

Create a new message -- alt H, N
Go to the insert tab -- alt N and arrow down once to the incllude box Arrow
right until you reach the signature dropdown and press enter.
You'll find yourself on the word signatures followed by an ellipses.
Press enter. You are now in the email signatures tab.
Tab three or four times until you get to the "new" button and press enter.
Once you've done that, you will be in an edit box where you want to type the
name of the signature, like My Sigline or whatever.
Type the name then tab to ok and hit enter.
Now you will find yourself in a tab with all sorts of options like which
account you want the new signature associated with, the font, alignment,
whether you want the signature added to replies or forwards etc. The last
tab before ok is the edit box where you will type the text of the signature.
Once you type the text, tab to ok and press enter.

I probably have skype on the computer but have not set it up as I prefer not

not sure if windows mail works like windows live mail

but if you have the ribbon menu what you do is
go to what you want to attach to the email and copy it to the clipboard
go to mail press application key
arrow right to insert arrow down jaws should announce insert a file to 
attach press spacebar
after pressing space jaws should announce select file to attach paste what 
you have in clipboard then press enter

it's attached
like I said I use windows live mail and this is what I do not sure if it'll 
work in windows mail, but it's worth a shot ain't it?

Under the heading of Privacy, it doesn't matter what sub-heading I select, 
when I tab down, one time or all the way through the list, I get the same 
results, no matter which sub-heading I am on. and after tabbing one time, I 
get the verbage that I stated in my original Email. I don't know what could 
be causing this.  I might call Microsoft Accessibility Support on this one, 
evidently something is awry with my Windows installation. I have experienced 
no other problems however.

Again here are the instructions.
Windows key+i.
Right arrow to privacy, press enter.
Down arrow to, Speech, inking and typing, press enter.
Tab one time, listen to what it tells you.
If it says, stop getting to know you, it is on.
If it says, get to know me, it is off.

I do not get anything like this. The first item in this list that you have
described on my computer says, "Let apps use my advertising ID for
experiences across all apps, turning this off will reset your ID". I see
nothing about "Getting to know me".

Windows key+I, right arrow to, privacy, press enter.
Down arrow to, Speech inking and typing, press enter.
Tab one time, if turned off, should say, Get to know me button.
Tab again, it will say, go to bing settings, you can go here to manage how
bing works, and manage bing history.
Last week when I was demonstrating Cortana, this setting was automatically
turned on, even though I previously had it turned off.
Just letting you know, of another setting which collects info about you and
your computer.
This is the only thing that I wish Microsoft would change in w-10, this
constant collecting of one’s computer information.

Under the heading of Privacy, it doesn't matter what sub-heading I select,
when I tab down, one time or all the way through the list, I get the same
results, no matter which sub-heading I am on. and after tabbing one time, I
get the verbage that I stated in my original Email. I don't know what could
be causing this.  I might call Microsoft Accessibility Support on this one,
evidently something is awry with my Windows installation. I have experienced
no other problems however.

Hi group,
there is a setting under privacy, called, speech inking and typing.
When this is on, your computer sends all kinds of information to Microsoft.
Such as info about you, and your contacts, your calendar, your search
history, and your preferences.
How to turn this setting off.
Windows key+I, right arrow to, privacy, press enter.
Down arrow to, Speech inking and typing, press enter.
Tab one time, if turned off, should say, Get to know me button.
Tab again, it will say, go to bing settings, you can go here to manage how
bing works, and manage bing history.
Last week when I was demonstrating Cortana, this setting was automatically
turned on, even though I previously had it turned off.
Just letting you know, of another setting which collects info about you and
your computer.
This is the only thing that I wish Microsoft would change in w-10, this
constant collecting of one’s computer information.

Without knowing which particular license you have, it may be difficult to say. 
It is likely you will be able to activate it on the new computer as long as you 
are no longer using it on the old one.

Hi all,
Yesterday I received iphone for my girlfried from service.
I want'ed restore them, but I am facing some troubles.
I am not able restore it completelly, don't know, why, but the applications
will not restore.
I am not able select in itunes under windows, which backup I want use.
How can I with jaws select, which use backup, which I am having?

I am in a course right now, which uses d2l. it's inaccessible. When you
login to a course, there is a menu which jaws reads, and it doesn't read
anything else. I had some cited assistants from my community college and
they told me that apps are in the platform which load, which are
incompatible with jaws right now. I'm working with people from my community
college, former blind school, and will report bugs with d2l in the current
jaws 17 beta. Tomorrow, I have a phone call with someone from online
learning, to try to find a salution, until this can be fixt. I'll keep you
posted. My advice is to tell your professors that d2l is inaccessible ahead
of time, so they can get an alternate way to access the content.

yes you can. use use the cd that office came on, or you can use one of
your installs if you have office 365.

Thank you very much for that. 

I would hate to take a college course and go through the struggle because of
accessibility issues, especially with my primary screen reader jaws.
I am taking a prewreck to get into a graduate program next summer, so lets
see what happens.

[JAWS-Users] unselecting a file in the save dialog box

Hi 

When I go to save as and the save dialog box comes ups. Then you can enter
the name of the file. Then I shift+tab to get into the file list where I
want to save the file. Then I arrow down the list and enter on a folder
where I want to save the file. If I arrow down that list and decide that is
where I want to save it. I want to unselect that file but when I hit the
ctrl+spacebar to unselect that file it will not unselect. Can someone tell
me how to unselect in the save dialog box.

Just to let you know that when I am in my documents list and not in the save
dialog box hitting ctrl+spacebar unselect the file just fine. But it does
not work when I am in the save dialog box.

I am using W7 and Office 2010.
