I use those same three programs in Win10, using Office 2016 and Jaws 17
without any big problems, only the annoying problem from Outlook when it
seems to get stuck on one message, but easily solvable.

When I first got Office 2016 was still using the first version of Jaws 16
and it did not read the message fields, From, Subject, etc., but that was
fixed with the update to Jaws 16 and is fine in Jaws 17.

How accessible is it, with jaws 17? I mainly use excel, outlook and word.
I just found out, I can upgrade through my work.

Hi Helga,

I don't run WLM, but here are a couple of notes I've saved just in case I
ever do regarding this topic:

From: David
Hello there;
If your wanting to send attachment using windows live mail,
You can do the following;

1, navigate to the folder where the file is located.
Highlight the file, do not enter,
Press the applications key,
Up or down arrow until you hear send to sub menu,
Right arrow or enter, to open this menu, now arrow up or down and enter on
mail recipient,
Now, you should land into the to edit field,
So, type your email address, and subject,
And send.
The second way is,
Open wlm,
New message,
Now to add attachment,
Alt+i=insert,
Now arrow down and enter on attachment.
Now, you'll need to navigate to the location of the file.
If you would rather not navigate,
You could,
Navigate to the folder where the file is located,
Highlight the file,
Copy to clipboard,
Go to wlm,
New message,
Alt+i=insert,
Now press i+a=insert attachment,
Now you can paste,
And send.
David

Take care.
Mike

2016-03-11 Thread Kelsey Nicolay

Hello,
I am using JAWS 17 and Outlook 2013. Sometimes I save files to
my desktop for convenience purposes. However, when I go to
attach a file in Outlook, it automatically searches my documents
folder. I know you can change the location, but I have never had
much luck with the tree view. I cannot find my desktop.
Therefore, is there any alternative to attach a file saved on the
desktop than to use the tree view? I'm using Windows 7. Any
advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Office 365 works pretty well with Jaws. And both Microsoft and Freedom
Scientific are always working to improve accessibility with the Office Suite
since it is constantly evolving much like Windows 10. I am currently using
Office 365 Home which includes Outlook 2016 as well as Word and Excel and a
few other applications. However, these are the three I use daily and
successfully along with Jaws 17.

one I'm going to go with. I have used wlm in the past, maybe 7 years ago,
not sure it's been so long. I'm going to have a look on the weekend at the
stores to see how much the Microsoft bundles go for. I have literally
thousands of save documents in the word format so I'm thinking I may go for
the office bundle for that reason. I'm still debating it. Regardless of
the debate going on about the reading/preview pain I guess I'm one of those
who uses it and I love it. I've never had a problem with viruses or jaws
and I want to continue using it so outlook looks like the way I'm going to
go. I know it sounds like I've made up my mind, but it really will depend
on the prices at the store. From what I gathered my husband has no problem
spending the money if it's going to make my life easier. Another reason why
i'm considering the Microsoft package is because I guess I will half to
spend more money but I use word in another language and I have the Greek
spell check etc. I do a lot of writing in Greek and having a spell check is
essential. Sorry for rambling but it's nice to see people care. Thanks for

describe it here. You hadn't installed illegal software. If it was illegal,
it wasn't you who had installed it. You aren't even sure it is illegal.
However, you wanted to make it legal, and your question went beyond that.
The software's possible illegality was a necessary foundation for why you
were asking your real question. If anything, it was a great illustration for
why we should always use legally obtained software.

Thanks for that. I seem to have difficulty in finding my way around Google
Drive. We are using it in my Spanish class and getting things to work it an
issue. Do you know where I can get some tutoring and instructions that
works for JAWS users?

Hello Wayne,
I use Google Drive, and also One Drive by Microsoft. I have 15 gigs for free
in One Drive, the same as Google Drive. Google Drive works great with JAWS
if used with IE 11. Freedom Scientific has two free webinars on Google Drive
and Google docs on the training page on the Freedom Scientific web site:
www.freedomscientific.com
The trick to using Google Drive, is to have the virtual cursor turned off
when navigating your list of files and other areas of Google Drive. Also,
there are key commands that are crucial to learn so you can use Google
Drive. I would greatly recommend those two free webinars. Now, for One
Drive, just type in the URL:
www.onedrive.com
once the page comes up, you will have to create an account, then you can
download the One Drive desktop program. You will have to download this since
you use Windows 7. Users of Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 already have the One
Drive as a default folder on their computer. Once you install the One Drive
program, you can upload 15 gigs, and it is much easier to use than Google
Drive. One Drive is a lot like Drop Box. I hope that helps and let me know
if you have questions. Have a great one.

Hello-

I have a DropBox account with 2 gig of free storage and it is full. Google
has an account with 15 gig of storage for free. It is much harder for me to
move around and work in Google Drive, for example. Is this a JAWS issue or
is DB simply much easier to work with? I am using Windows 7 (with no
desire to change) and JAWS 15. I have later versions if I need them (16 and
17). Are there Google Drive users or users of other web storage sites with
any thoughts?

Thanks in advance,

Wayne
