Re: [JAWS-Users] Email programs with W10
If you are talking to me, I recommended windows live mail. Shortcut keys are the same for the most part for email programs. CTRL n for new message, CTRL f for forward, CTRL r for reply, just to get you started. However, all of that applies after the email has been configured, so get back with me after you downloaded and installed windows live mail. Re: [JAWS-Users] Email programs with W10
Hi Arianna, Using JAWS and win10, the two best clients that work best with JAWS are Thunderbird and Windows Live Mail. Right behind, After the new build of win10 that will come out in a week, the win10 mail app will be accessible with JAWS. Unfortunately, without Outlook at this moment, Thunderbird is your only choice with which you can import any account into it, imap or pop. With Windows Live Mail, you cannot import MS accounts like Outlook mail, or Hotmail. I would suggest Thunderbird at this point, because there have been some little hiccups with Windows Live Mail. E-mail Client: A program that allows you to download and manage messages from an e-mail server. An e-mail client is typically installed on your PC. Here are some of the most widely used e-mail clients: Microsoft Outlook Express (also referred to as OE) Microsoft Outlook (most generally referred to as Outlook) Windows Mail (also referred to as WM) Windows Live Mail (also referred to as WLM) Mozilla Thunderbird (generally referred to as Thunderbird) Eudora There are clients in this list that are similar in name, but are entirely different, and it is important not to confuse them, for example, Outlook, and Outlook Express are both Microsoft products, but are not the same Likewise, Windows Mail, and Windows Live Mail, are again, both Microsoft products, but are not the same, so it is important when asking for help, to make sure which client you are using, because keyboard commands and navigation will vary. Note: While on the topic of e-mail clients, this is very important to remember: The last supported version of Outlook Express was 6.0, which came installed on Windows XP systems. Re: [JAWS-Users] infovox 230 old synthecizer
I am interested in that also! and it just so happens I can get it for you. the link is below and below that is my request. the link for the old synthesizer is: http://grossgang.com/tts/sapi_voices/infovox%20files.7z infovox230 is abandonware and so is keynote gold multimedia. you can unzip it with the free 7zip program. can you do me a favor? if you can get it working in windows10 please please let me know because this is one of my favorite tts engines. and also the guy from www.code-it.com is going to work or try and work on a small utility that will let us use any sapi4 voice under sapi5 so for example you will be able to use TruVoice or the old microsoft sapi4 voices with sapi5-only jaws or with sapi5-only games and other sapi5-only applications. it will let sapi4 voices show up under sapi5 and be used by sapi5-only applications such as jaws17. so if all goes well the old infovox230 could finally be sapi5. now if we could get keynote gold multimedia to work on modern systems that would also be excellent. Re: [JAWS-Users] ASSESIBLE VIDEO EDITOR
I'm trying video pad,I can't figure out how to do what I want to. I have an intro animation that is saved as a video clip, and I want to put it at the beginning of my movie. then I want to add a blank clip so my movie doesn't start too quickly. I add the clips then when I go to the file menu preview movie is unavailable. it was so much easier in wlmm all I had to do was paste a clip into the story board and if I wanted to preview it just press F11 and the movie shows on full screen! of course I never put clips together, I just trimmed bits out of a single clip. would it be possible for you to give me a quick start? -Original Message- From: Paul Sent: Saturday, July 23, 2016 7:47 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] ASSESIBLE VIDEO EDITOR I have had some luck with Video Pad from NCH software. Re: [JAWS-Users] are there any special instructions regarding Jaws when upgrading to windows10
To answer your last question, JAWS 17 works well with Windows 10, provided that you make sure your default Web browser is not Microsoft Edge. You should also ensure that Adobe Reader is installed for proper access to PDF documents. Re: [JAWS-Users] are there any special instructions regarding Jaws whenupgrading to windows10
Hi Jason, If you have JAWS 16.4350 or Version 17, you can leave that version on your computer while you up grade, and you will have speech from that version. You must get the tool from the freedom scientific web site to get rid of all older JAWS versions on your computer. Any JAWS version under 16.4350 must be uninstalled with the tool from FS www.freedomscientific.com Now, when you are doing the upgrade, after the install, the one version 16.4350 or above that is on your computer, will not talk. You must turn on Narrator to finish the last two screens, and then JAWS will come back on and the new win10 will be on your computer with all settings and programs intact. Let me know if you have anymore questions. The latest build of jaws 16 is the latest version that will work with windows 10. Yes jaws 17 will work with windows 10. I used NVDA after I removed jaws to get me through everything. The tool of which you spoke of I did not use, because I don't have much on my machine so it was fair game in knowing what would be compatible.
