[JAWS-Users] Using the jaws curser with fire fox
I have lost the ability to use the Jaws curser with fire fox. I learned how, and saved the e-mail. But my computer was stolen with the e-mail instructions on it, and I don't know how any longer to configure fire fox to read using Jaws 10 and fire fox. Please send me the instructions again, and I shall do my best to save the information perhaps in a safer place this time. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter. As I am unable to properly access my banks site. For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/

Are there any FS (Or user) tutorials out there giving tips on how to interact with WLM using JAWS? Maybe a list of all available keyboard shortcuts. One of the things I did like with the default mail app is that it gave you the number of replies for a particular thread in the subject line. WLM doesn’t seem to do that. Is there a way of enabling this? Also does WLM offer a message view pain. Re: [JAWS-Users] Any Tips for Using Windows Live Mail with JAWS v17?
Hi Sherrie, The default app for win10 is just the mail app. Just press the windows key and type mail in the search edit, and press enter and the mail app will open. You can go to settings by tabbing, and set up your account by just typing in the email and password. For WLM, it works great with JAWS 17. You must now, at this point, import the MS email accounts like Outlook, and Hotmail, for example, into WLM as IMAP accounts. You can still use these MS accounts in WLM if you import them into WLM as IMAP accounts by putting in the right port information and such. I have a tutorial about doing that if anyone would like it. [JAWS-Users] Problems When Searching For A Lost File On The Computer
Hello, everyone. I am having a problem when trying to search for a lost file on my computer. What I used to do was to go to my computer, and then the drive I thought the file was saved in. I'd then hit control F, and the search would proceed. I'd be notified when the search was completed, and I could then tab to get the results, usually telling me where the lost file was located. I can't seem to get this to work any longer. I'm using Jaws 17 on a Windows 7 laptop here. Another solution is if your computers both have decent bluetooth to use a bluetooth keyboard that has multiple connection support like the logitech k760. I believe there are other logitech keyboards that can do this also. Of interest, if you wanted just one set of speakers it might be possible if one of your computer has line in, to have a patch cable going from the speaker out jack on one computer to the line in jack on the other, then on the one that has the line in, set it to listen to the line in jack through that computer's output sound card. Then use speakers connected to the computer with the line in jack and you should be able to hear both computers through the same set of speakers, at the same time so you'll know if the one you're not using right now is up to something if it has speech or is playing sounds. Of course, if you use two sets of speakers moot point. The speaker discussion might be worth thinking about even if you go for kvm switch, especially if it does have no audio support. Good luck. I use USB speakers on my desktop computers USB powered speakers that is so very low power usage, and I just leave them be so all my computers can be heard any time they're up to something that makes noise. [JAWS-Users] Windows 10 mail;
Good afternoon to all; One of my client's would like to setup the windows 10 mail client. I would like to just verify some information, 1, to setup the email account, I need to go to, Settings, windows-key+i 2, tab to the list of items, and right arrow and enter on, Accounts, 3, then I need to again tab once, Now, arrow down and enter on, Email accounts, 4, again I need to tab and here I see, add email account, Here I would add enter. Now the type of account is Gmail, So, I assume I choose google? Now, when I go through the setup, Will my client just receive all new messages from the Gmail account? Or, can my client receive all previous mail. Just want to make sure I will do this right. In advance, thank you. Re: [JAWS-Users] email programs and jaws
Hi. For the record, in case there's not some specific reason to use a microsoft mail client as your fallback that i'm unaware of, Thunderbird might be suitable. It gets very sluggish if you have lots of emails being synced while you're trying to read messages, but the sluggishness goes away once it is synced up. You can do threaded conversation view, and are able with JAWS's drag and drop feature most of the time to move the columns around to get a really efficient order of information in the message list so you can quickly perhaps even more quickly than the microsoft clients review and delete unwanted conversations and the like. I can most likely help you set up thunderbird if you want to try it and could use help. If you're interested let me know the best way to contact you. Can you use skype chat? I'm profoundly deaf, I'm generally most comfortable using instant messages. Re: [JAWS-Users] 1 keyboard and 2 computers
Hi. Another solution is if your computers both have decent bluetooth to use a bluetooth keyboard that has multiple connection support like the logitech k760. I believe there are other logitech keyboards that can do this also. Of interest, if you wanted just one set of speakers it might be possible if one of your computer has line in, to have a patch cable going from the speaker out jack on one computer to the line in jack on the other, then on the one that has the line in, set it to listen to the line in jack through that computer's output sound card. Then use speakers connected to the computer with the line in jack and you should be able to hear both computers through the same set of speakers, at the same time so you'll know if the one you're not using right now is up to something if it has speech or is playing sounds. Of course, if you use two sets of speakers moot point. The speaker discussion might be worth thinking about even if you go for kvm switch, especially if it does have no audio support. Good luck. I use USB speakers on my desktop computers USB powered speakers that is so very low power usage, and I just leave them be so all my computers can be heard any time they're up to something that makes noise. Re: [JAWS-Users] Any Tips for Using Windows Live Mail with JAWS v17?
Hi. It's a universal style app, sometimes refered to as a metro app, called, most imaginatively, mail. As of the latest jaws 17 update or perhaps the second latest, it is said to be accessible with JAWS. I personally find the extra verbiage and inconsistent reading in the message list plus unreliability of actually being able to read the messages when I open them to leave that a subjective matter though. I like the app's simplicity and speed though and very much intend to switch once accessibility issues are resolved. As it is now thunderbird remains vastly more efficient for my personal needs. Hello, Even though I do like how well JAWS v17 works with the default Mail app for Windows 10, I still gave the Windows Live Mail application a try. It seems to work even better with JAWS, and offers a whole lot more bells and whistles (News reader, Podcast and RSS feeds etc.). Meaning as you arrow through the list of message subjects, a portion of the associated message body will be shown in a view window pain. If WLM does offer such a feature, how do I turn it on. I’m very surprised that MS stop development on WLM for it seems to be much more advanced then the new Mail app they’ve replaced it with. Thanks for any help.
