Hi, do any of you use any of these planning your budget type programs like
Quicken? I was wondering if there are any that work well with Jaws. Thanks.

On your root C drive, you should find two "Program files" folders. The

However, using Windos 10, I can press the windows key, type in media player,
press enter, and it comes up. Can anyone explain this curiosity? I am having
some issues with it and am trying to find a repair tool for it. Many thanks.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Changing Voices Keystroke In JAWS 18

2016-11-08 Thread Maria Campbell
OK. Let's try this again. Press insert J, right arrow to basics, down
arrow to voices submenu, right arrow to voice adjustment and enter
there. That brings you to your profiles/synthesizers, where you will
see your Eloquence, SAPi and your Vocalizer Expressives, if you have
them installed. Use your up and down arrow to see them. Once a synth
is selected, by tabbing you will see the different voices available,
again using your up and down arrow.

[JAWS-Users] Using MicrosoftWord 2013's ruler and Jaws

2016-11-08 Thread Teresa Arroyo Llosa
Hello all,
Running Windows 8.1-64, Jaws 16, and MicrosoftWord 2013.

I am doing a MicrosoftWord 2013 course online, and many things are done with
the ruler. Right now, I am on the lesson regarding tabulations.

Is it possible to use the button ruler with Jaws, in general, and with
tabulations, in particular? I think I was able to see the ruler with word 2003,
using the Jaws cursor, but now it doesn’t work. It doesn’t even show me the
buttons, like close. Can someone please help me with this subject?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Teresa Arroyo Llosa

Pending on the JAWS version have you tried going into table mode, when in the
table, to do an insert + T spacebar then tap T for tables. Then you can just
use the arrow keys.

I haven't done this in a while, but I believe you would first turn on "quick
keys" by pressing JAWS key+z, then use the usual table navigation commands,
that is, the arrow keys combined in each case with alt and control. Or press
JAWS key+spacebar, then t for table, in order to move around the table with
just the arrow keys.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Lost Media Player

2016-11-08 Thread Adrian Spratt
Jerry, this is what I was getting at in trying to steer you to "file
associations." Once you locate the extension in that list, you can tab to find
out which application it is associated with. You can then change that default
so that the file is associated with WMP, that is, so that WMP becomes the
default player.

If you can't follow the instructions I posted yesterday for based on my Win7
experience, perhaps Kevin or another lister can give you specifics for Win10.
Or you can Google it. "File association" is the concept you want to look into.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Lost Media Player

Morning to all.

I cannot find Windows Media Player in my programs folder of Control Panel.
However, using Windos 10, I can press the windows key, type in media player,
press enter, and it comes up. Can anyone explain this curiosity? I am having
some issues with it and am trying to find a repair tool for it. Many thanks.

you must set wmp as the default music player. if you don't groove music
will play your music files.

Okay ... now we are cooking with Crisco. I opened "This PC", went to "OS",
found the Program Files and sent Windows Media Player to my desktop. First
problem solved. Now, is there a "repair" function in it? For some reason, I
am having trouble opening music files that are saved on my computer via
media player, even though there is an option for doing so. Thanks agin for
the help thus far.

You won't find the "program files (x86)" folder either of those ways, not on
my system. On mine, you must go to the C drive via "Computer." I don't know
the Win10 equivalent.
No oops this time.

I went back into my control panel, but could not find a folder named
"Program Files". I also typed in program files in the search box in Windows
10, no success. And do not worry about the name confusion. It is Monday; but
you are allowed only 1 "ooops" on Mondays.

Jim, I'm using Windows 7, but the same explanation may apply to Windows 10.
On your root C drive, you should find two "Program files" folders. The
second should be labeled "program files (x86)." That's where I find WMP on
my system.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Go To Meeting

2016-11-08 Thread Annette Carr
Hi,

Agree, PowerPoint as a stand-a-lone product is quite usable with JAWS. As
Farfar Dave stated, you will have to get used to working with it as some of
it is not as intuitive as one would expect with the Microsoft Office
products. Not only do I use it for presentations, but I've also used it to
create announcement flyers. With practice you can learn how to insert
graphics, position them and label them. Now using PowerPoint with Go To
Meeting, as already stated, is useless.

HTH,
Annette

Go To Meeting is like many other desktop-sharing applications. They do not
work well for us as a receiver of the feed, since it is a graphical
representation of the other desktop. JAWS does not play well with a pure
graphic representation.

PowerPoint is fine, once you get used to using JAWS with it. Go to the FS
web site and download any training material on using PowerPoint with JAWS so

you won't be frustrated.

MS-Project is pretty hopeless, except for entering your project. Actually
viewing the completed diagram is painful. But I was able to use it in a
college course several years ago, as well as in my job at HP.
