I don't know, I haven't heard anything about Freedom Scientific raising the price of the SMAs, but I guess I'll find out next year when my SMA is up for renewal. Cheers! My intent with this e-mail is not to stir up controversy, but to try to get the truth regarding upgrading a Jjaws SMA. Here's my situation: My current Jaws SMA ends with Jaws 18. I recently received a mail notification from Freedom Scientific advising me that I can renew my Jaws SMA for the next two Jaws upgrades for $120, as long as I do so by December 31. In a followup conversation with the FS Customer Service Department, I was told that if I wait to renew my SMA after December 31, that cost will go up to $180. I was always under the impression that the $120 SMA renewal cost figure would be the same as long as you renewed your SMA prior to the next major Jaws update. Perhaps I am mistaken here, and wonder what others know about this issue. I may not be able to renew my SMA prior to December 31, and just want to know what to expect, or how to advocate for a fair price. Thanks! Re: [JAWS-Users] SMA Renewal Question
As I recall, after I got 17, I needed to renew my SMA for 18 and 19. I did it before the year ended, but after my old SMA was over, and still paid only $120. All I can figure is that despite the final upgrade on the SMA being delivered around the beginning of November, the SMA doesn't actually expire until the end of the year. I was unaware that the price went up after the end of the year, I renewed my SMA in November just to have it done and out of my hair. Cheers! Re: [JAWS-Users] SMA Renewal Question
Hello Tom this is true if you don't renew before December 31 the cost does go up to $180 this has been true since Jaws 4.0 so I always renew before my SMA runs out. When they came out with the first beta of jaws 18 I renewed mine so now I am good through version 20 so I advise you that if you can you need to do this ASAP because on January 1 the cost goes up and they don't care about how difficult it is to get money. -Original Message- From: Tom Behler Sent: Monday, December 12, 2016 8:57 PM To: 'Jaws users list' Subject: [JAWS-Users] SMA Renewal Question Hello, everyone. Kimsan, Since you post to both the JFW lists like I do, I do see that your name comes up differently on each of the lists. It does have something to do with the actual listserver being employed. You will need to go to the web site and change your displayed name there. Yeah, I just noticed that lol. It's not an issue to where the mods must make an emergency landing to resolve the issue; however, I will try by logging into my user thing to see if I have to change it. Re: [JAWS-Users] speaking of IE
Hi Bill, you will probably need to look at all your settings in the internet options dialog and make sure they are all set to where you want them. Including your home page. Good luck... -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Bill Sent: Sunday, December 11, 2016 1:57 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] speaking of IE Hi Jim, I rather like the idea of just highliting what is in the "favorites" folder, in case my new IE happens to have book marks already. Also, my favorites aren't going to affect what site will be my home site, will it? I know how to make a new site my home page, so that's not a problem. I happen to prefer startpage myself, since it's so simple to use and all. Bill K. I do not know off hand, but I can take a look on the server and see if it is in fact possible. Nobody has ever asked before. -Original Message- From: Kimsan Song Sent: Monday, December 12, 2016 2:12 AM To: 'jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com' Subject: [JAWS-Users] display name for this group Hi, Is it possible to change Kimsan Song to simply Kimsan for this mailing list?
