I don't know, I haven't heard anything about Freedom Scientific raising
the price of the SMAs, but I guess I'll find out next year when my SMA
is up for renewal.

Cheers!

Hello, everyone.

My intent with this e-mail is not to stir up controversy, but to try to get
the truth regarding upgrading a Jjaws SMA.

Here's my situation:

My current Jaws SMA ends with Jaws 18.

I recently received a mail notification from Freedom Scientific advising me
that I can renew my Jaws SMA for the next two Jaws upgrades for $120, as
long as I do so by December 31. In a followup conversation with the FS
Customer Service Department, I was told that if I wait to renew my SMA
after
December 31, that cost will go up to $180.

I was always under the impression that the $120 SMA renewal cost figure
would be the same as long as you renewed your SMA prior to the next major
Jaws update.

Perhaps I am mistaken here, and wonder what others know about this issue.

I may not be able to renew my SMA prior to December 31, and just want to
know what to expect, or how to advocate for a fair price.

Thanks!

Re: [JAWS-Users] SMA Renewal Question

2016-12-12 Thread Gene Warner
As I recall, after I got 17, I needed to renew my SMA for 18 and 19. I
did it before the year ended, but after my old SMA was over, and still
paid only $120. All I can figure is that despite the final upgrade on
the SMA being delivered around the beginning of November, the SMA
doesn't actually expire until the end of the year.

I was unaware that the price went up after the end of the year, I
renewed my SMA in November just to have it done and out of my hair.

Cheers!

Hello Tom this is true if you don't renew before December 31 the cost does
go up to $180 this has been true since Jaws 4.0 so I always renew before

my SMA runs out.
When they came out with the first beta of jaws 18 I renewed mine so now I am
good through version 20 so I advise you that if you can you need to do
this ASAP because on January 1 the cost goes up and they don't care about
how difficult it is to get money.

Re: [JAWS-Users] display name for this group

2016-12-12 Thread Mike B.
Like Señor Ferrin said, it has been changed, so unless you're not changing
it in the correct place within Outlook I don't know what to tell you. In
Outlook Express you change it in Tools / Accounts / Properties, & on the
General tab, it's the , Name field.
Take care.

Kimsan,

Since you post to both the JFW lists like I do, I do see that your name
comes up differently on each of the lists. It does have something to do with
the actual listserver being employed. You will need to go to the web site
and change your displayed name there.

It's not an issue to where the mods must make an emergency landing to
resolve the issue; however, I will try by logging into my user thing to see
if I have to change it.

[JAWS-Users] this PC

2016-12-12 Thread patti
Hey Gang,

I have a friend that is running windows 10. I was looking on his desktop and
he doesn't have this PC on there.

So I like to know how I can find it, and put it on his desktop?

Thanks for any help.

Hi Kimsan,
Are you sure you are subscribed to this list with the same address that
you used on the list that are not showing your last name. I have noticed
Song following your name on other lists.
Thanks,

Hi Bill, you will probably need to look at all your settings in the internet
options dialog and make sure they are all set to where you want them.
Including your home page. Good luck...

Hi Jim,
I rather like the idea of just highliting what is in the "favorites"
folder, in case my new IE happens to have book marks already.
Also, my favorites aren't going to affect what site will be my home site,
will it?
I know how to make a new site my home page, so that's not a problem. I
happen to prefer startpage myself, since it's so simple to use and all.
