Cristobal:

I found where to switch my g-mail account to basic HTML view on the g-mail
web site, and discovered that the folders are much easier to navigate this
way.

However, I went into my drafts folder, and discarded all drafts; but the
drafts still seem to be stuck in my Outlook 2016 drafts folder.

This now seems like an Outlook problem, and I'm not sure how to solve it
from here, since working within my g-mail account itself did not seem to
correct things.

I tried the Shift delete key method several times for each of the three

the messages keep re-appearing.

In other words, they just don't go away!

I have also tried going to the gmail web site, and deleting the messages

I guess my only option at this point would be to disconnect from the

Have you tried doing a shift + delete key. Then you should get a message box

Click yes and it should be gone.

This works when I've got a message stuck in the outgoing folder.
If you're on wifi, just disable the wireless on your machine and if you're
hard wired, depending on what system you're running, go into adaptor
settings or network (maybe someone else can give you specific

Honestly between the two, I would use outlook.

The reasons why is with outlook, you are able to quickly navigate to the
folders you create, also easily create folders, message rules do not work in
the mail app where as it does in outlook.
The app if you do not like orgonomics then it's not for you, if you just do
the basic send and receive, it'll be fine. As of right now, it's not the
greatest but useable and duable, and there might be improvements down the
road.

There are pros and cons with each, but when it comes down to it, I rather
use outlook primarily.
The mail app is native to windows 10, so type mail in the windows search,
and you will see the mail app. Press enter to launch it and follow the
prompts to set up your account.

It works wonderfully with jaws now.
Type in the search of the windows start, mail and the first result should be
the mail app.
Don't compare it to outlook, windows live, nor any other client, or you will
drive yourself bonkers.
I'm much quicker on outlook vs the mail appp but just used it for bordum and
it was just sitting there being neglected.

If you're in Gmail's standard view, then there's going to be a button at
the top of the screen saying "Basic HTML view". Clicking on that will
take you to the more traditional and screen reader friendly layout.
Once there, you'll be able to search for and find the drafts folder easily.
With the Jaws insert+f7 or a simple Jaws search for Drafts.

If you find the standard view for Gmail too difficult to navigate, you
can always switch to the basic HTML page and access the drafts folder

Mr. Ed:

I tried the Shift delete key method several times for each of the three
e-mails that are now permanently stuck in my Outlook 2016 drafts folder, and
the messages keep re-appearing.

In other words, they just don't go away!

I have also tried going to the gmail web site, and deleting the messages
from my personal g-mail account. But, I find the web site itself difficult
to navigate, and I have difficulty consistently getting to where I need to
go to delete those messages.

I guess my only option at this point would be to disconnect from the
internet, and see what happens from there. That just doesn't seem like it
should be necessary, though!

I suggest searching the Web to find out whether there are any known and
relevant issues with Gmail and Microsoft Outlook. If you're using a Gmail
account with MS-Outlook, it's probably using IMAP, and that's a recipe for
potential compatibility issues - including the possibility of recently
introduced bugs on either side.

Hello,

I have been using the X250 since June last year. I have had no issues with
the machine other than the way the Insert key is set up. The End key and
Insert keys are one key. Insert is FN-Key + End. So, with JAWS, you have
to use the Laptop keyboard layout and perhaps redefine some key assignments.

I am just about to purchase thinkpad X260 or X250, but I am concerned of its
accessibility with jaws. So anyone using X searies thinkpad, kindly apprise
me about their accessibility and I will be using it with jaws only.

2017-01-03 Thread Gene Warner

Hi!

My needs are very simple, I don't need to download whole playlists or
multiple songsone at a time suits me just fine.

I discovered that the first message about YouTubeBLG had actually
misspelled it, it should have been YouTubeDLG for YouTube DL GUI.
Somebody sent me a link to github where it could be downloaded but there
appeared to be no link to a Windows version, so I gave up on that.

While I was searching, I ran across several recommendations for a
program called Pontes Media Downloader. It sounded ideal so I grabbed it.

Pontes Organization is apparently a Romanian JAWS user who has written
some games and this media downloader, and some scripts for JAWS.

If you are interested, here is a link to his web site where you can
download his programs and scripts, which is also a small online community.

Cheers!

Re: [JAWS-Users] Accessing iTunes with JAWS18

2017-01-03 Thread Rick Justice
Hi Annette,
Give these steps a try, they work for me.
I wrote them yesterday, and as far as creating playlists, you should be able
to do that from your phone as well.

These instructions were written for ITunes version 12.5.4.42, using Jaws
version 16.

Once ITunes has been configured to automatically sync with your phone when
connected , follow these steps to move music or ring tones to your phone:
Music:
NOTE: Make sure that the files you select are not .wav format,
While the IPhone will play these files, they are far too large to transfer
to the phone since they will rapidly use up available space on the phone.
.mp3 would be a better choice,.

1. Select individual songs or an album folder, and copy it to the clipboard.
2. Press enter on your user folder name shortcut on the Desktop.
3. Once in your user folder, locate your Music folder and press enter.
4. From within your Music folder, press the letter I to move to the ITunes
folder, then press enter to open it.
5. Press the letter I again to locate the ITunes Media folder, then press
enter to open it.
6. The first folder in this list is:
Automatically Add to ITunes,
so press the spacebar to select the folder, then press enter to open it.
7. Paste your selections from the clipboard here.
Note: If pasting individual files, I would make sure that none of the file
names are the same or have like track numbers in the file name.
8. Once you have pasted your files here you can close the folder with Alt
F4.
9. Now, from the Desktop press enter on the ITunes shortcut, to open the
ITunes program.
10. Once ITunes has loaded, plug your phone into your computer, and syncing
should begin.
When syncing has finished, you should hear a tone.
Now check your Music app on your phone to make sure the songs are there.

The process for moving ring tones to your phone are the same as above,
making sure that the files you are using for ring tones are of the correct
format,(.m4r) and no longer than 30 seconds in length.
No matter what format your original file is, you will need to convert it to
M4A first.
To convert files to the proper format, do the following:
1. Open Pazera Free Audio Extractor Portable, and press enter on
theAudioExtractor.exe.
2. Next, once the program has opened, press the Alt key, and right arrow to
the File List menu, then arrow to "Add files to list", and press enter.
3. This will place you in a standard "Open", dialogue where you can browse
for your files.
4. Once you have found your file, or files, then tab to the "OPEN" button
and spacebar it.
5. Now, you will be in a dialogue for choosing your output format, and your
file or files should be selected, so tab once to choose the format.
6. Arrow to m4a, then press the Alt key to open the menus, and select
"convert checked files", from the file menu, and press enter.
The conversion process will start, and Jaws should announce the progress.
7. When conversion has completed, you can close the program with Alt F4.
8. Go to the folder where your original file is located and you should find
your converted file or files.
9. Once you have located your files, you will need to change the file
extension, by doing the following:
A. With the file name highlighted, press the F2 key to rename the file.
B. Now, move to the end of the file name, and delete the "A", from the end
of the file extension, and replace it with the letter "R" and press enter to
close the dialogue.
Do this for each file you want to use.
10. Finally, use the steps above for moving music to your phone to move your
ring tones.

HTH,
Rick Justice

Tomorrow's another day, another way!
and if tomorrow never comes, problem solved!

Folder In Outlook 2016

Hello.

I have just experienced the recurrence of a nagging problem in Outlook 2016.

I seem to be unable to remove items from my drafts folder.

I can move them to my trash folder, and supposedly permanently delete them
from that folder, but when I go back to my drafts folder, the original draft
e-mails re-appear.

Sometimes, I can correct this situation by going into the drafts folder in
my personal g-mail account and eliminating the messages that way, but this
does not always work either.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? And, if so, how did you ultimately
get rid of those stubborn draft messages?

YouTube BLG is accessible with Jaws. I don't have a link for it but it works
very well. It does not have all the options that the one you mentioned has
but it does a very good job. It even does playlists without a premium

Hope that helps.

Hi everyone!

Does anyone know of an accessible Youtube to MP3 convertor? The one I just
looked at had an installer that was loaded down with third party programs
with opt out options that weren't accessible, so I canceled the install.
That one was from DVD Video Soft.

Another one that I looked at from Free Make wasn't accessible.

I used to use Youtube to MP3 convertor.org but for the past several months,
all it does is throw up a message about maintenance and to try again in an
hour or so.

It doesn't have to be free, though that would be nice.

Thanks!

Re: [JAWS-Users] Accessibility of Lenovo Thinkpad X250/X260 with jaws

2017-01-03 Thread Reed

[JAWS-Users] Accessing iTunes with JAWS18

2017-01-03 Thread Annette Carr
Hi All iTunes Users,

iTunes is driving me crazy. I am trying to add new content to my iTunes
library so that I can make a Play List and then put that Play List on my
iPhone. I am using the latest version of iTunes and JAWS18 on a Windows7
machine. I find that sometimes using Tab or Control+Tab or F6 all do the
same thing for navigating, and other times they do not. When I land on most
buttons, JAWS announces to use the Space Bar to select, but I find that if
it is going to let me select it, I will have to use the Enter key.

I thought that when you selected Add to Library from the File Menu iTunes
would go out and find any new content, i.e. MP3's on your hard drive and add
them to the iTunes folder, and to the iTunes library. This is not
happening. I've even tried pasting the new MP3 files in the iTunes folder
and then going through what I think are the steps for adding them to the
iTunes library, and they still do not show up. I am selecting Add to
Library, and then in the dialog box that pops up I am thinking that I am
selecting one of the items in the list, and I do hear the iTunes sound that
usually indicates it is finished.

Can anyone help me with this?

Annette

Re: [JAWS-Users] Reading Text Columns in MS-Word

2017-01-03 Thread Jason White
I just discovered this issue today while reading a document sent by a
colleague.

Please note that text columns are not tables. Table navigation commands
(including smart navigation) do not work with text columns.

I searched the Web and found that Alt+Down-Arrow and Alt+Up-Arrow are supposed
to move to the next/previous text column, respectively. Even if I used the
JAWS pass-through key (Insert+3) to ensure that JAWS did not interpret these
keystrokes as sentence navigation commands, they didn't work in Microsoft Word
2016 for me.

I also found mention of Alt+Page-Up and Alt+Page-Down, which didn't help
either.

Is there a better solution than using "route JAWS to PC" to move to a
neighboring column after finding the text with the JAWS cursor?

This is way cool!

Like the other list member, I'd also choose to go somewhere else, though
I don't know where I'd want to go, because I live about 20 minutes away
from Freedom Scientific's Saint Petersburg Florida headquarters.

I am such a computer junkie that I will always be thankful to Freedom
Scientific for making JAWS available. It and their Open Book programs
are, in my book, must have programs.

I quit visiting an internet community because most of the members there
used NVDA and were always going out of their way to post
derogatory, disparaging, and hateful remarks about Freedom Scientific and
JAWS. I eventually got tired of seeing those remarks, so I left.

Cheers!

If he is hardwired then all he has to do is pull the cat 5 plug out of his
system. Nothing more than that little trick is all he needs.

This works when I've got a message stuck in the outgoing folder.
If you're on wifi, just disable the wireless on your machine and if you're
hard wired, depending on what system you're running, go into adaptor
settings or network (maybe someone else can give you specific
instructions) and disable the connection. Then go back and try to delete
the messages and hopefully after they're gone, go back and enable your
internet.

How exactly can I do this without interrupting internet service for the rest
of the household?

Am not sure why Outlook refuses to permanently delete these messages.

The problem only occurs with the drafts folder.

Try disabling your wi-fy/internet connection and then delete.

George:

I did this, and the messages re-appeared in my Outlook 2016 drafts folder!

This, even after I opened them from my in-box, and deleted them.

Hello,
I whip this trick from my magic bag,
Open the mail, shift tab back to the too field, back space the address and
add your own, tab back to the message body and send it to your self.
