Re: [JAWS-Users] how to automatically put jaws to sleep
Hi Denis. When you are in the application in which you want JAWS to sleep, press INSERT+6. If there is no JCF file for that application, a dialog box will appear to confirm creation of a new one; leave the name as is and press ENTER; Settings Center will open. In Settings Center, press CTRL+E to go to the search box and type sleep.I N the search results, find the one for Sleep Mode and press SPACEBAR to toggle the status between Disable, Enable and Enable/unload the synthesizer. Speech will take a bit longer to go back when you exit or switch focus away from the application if you select Enable and Unload the Synthesizer, but there will be more RAM available for your program and also speech will stop inmediately when you focus the program. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Dennis Long Sent: Friday, July 21, 2017 6:56 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] how to automatically put jaws to sleep Hi, How do I automatically put Jaws when a game that has self voicing? Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook Express question
Sherri, First, you can get a version of OE for Windows 7-10 if you want. It is at runasxp.com. Ok, I found this on a Microsoft Answers site; hope this helps... Steve tion about the differences between Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Outlook Express e-mail clients, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 257824 OL2000: Differences Between Outlook and Outlook Express Symptoms When you start Outlook Express, some of your default folders (Inbox, Drafts, and so on) or personal subfolders that you created may be missing from the Local Folders list. The folders were previously visible. Cause This issue can occur if the Folders.dbx file is damaged or corrupted. Resolution To resolve this issue, rename the Folders.dbx file for the impacted identity and then start Outlook Express. This allows Outlook Express to rebuild a new Folders.dbx file. To rename and rebuild the Folders.dbx file: 1.. In Outlook Express, click Options on the Tools menu, and then click the Maintenance tab. 2.. Click Store Folder, and then make a note of the path to your Store folder on your disk drive. You cannot type in this box, but you can move through the box by using the left and right arrow keys on the keyboard. 3.. Close the Store Folder and Options dialog boxes, and then quit Outlook Express. 4.. Click Start, point to Programs, and then click Windows Explorer. 5.. Locate the Store folder (you noted the path to the Store folder in step 2). 6.. Right-click the Folders.dbx file in this folder, and then click Rename on the shortcut menu. 7.. Type Folders.old, and then press the ENTER key. Make sure that the file is renamed to Folders.old, and then quit Windows Explorer. 8.. Start Outlook Express. This automatically creates a new Folders.dbx file; your folders should be displayed correctly. Re: [JAWS-Users] sign in with jaws.
On my personal laptop, I'm running Windows 10 1703 (Creators Update) with the latest JAWS 18. To sign in, I touch the fingerprint reader for a few seconds. For some reason, JAWS usually then announces "Open touch keyboard", followed by "Close touch keyboard". I don't know whether this is a bug or not. Re: [JAWS-Users] how to automatically put jaws to sleep
Hi Dennis, Check out the steps below using Openbook as the example: These are steps on how you can put Jaws into sleep mode so Jaws will sleep while running a self voicing program, or make any other changes in the Settings Center for any program installed on your computer without the particular / target program running. Below are steps using Openbook & putting Jaws into sleep mode as an example. When you shift + tab into the application list & find the application you want, you need to tab 1 time into the Settings Center for that application. Pressing enter on the application closes the Settings Center. So, here is how I accessed the Openbook Settings Center: 1. While in Outlook Express I pressed Insert key + 6, on the number row above the main keyboard to open the Outlook Express Settings Center. 2. I invoked the keystroke, shift + tab, to get into the application list. 3. I pressed the letter O, until I had Openbook highlighted. 4. I tabbed 1 time into the Openbook Settings Center. 5. I Typed, sleep, into the search edit field & waited a few seconds for the list to populate & arrowed down to Sleep Mode . miscellaneous. 6. Now, right here the spacebar needs to be pressed to toggle the options until Jaws reports, sleep mode enable and unload the synthesizer. 7. Tab to apply, press the spacebar, tab to okay, press the spacebar to save your changes & close. Take care. Mike. Go Dodgers! Sent from my iBarstool. [JAWS-Users] memo for the group
I am G-mail and all good on this end in Portland, ME. Loud and clear. With my outlook, 2016 complete package, sometimes Jaws Users goes to the Junk folder. I use the application key, go to junk mail and another window comes up and thinking it is not junk, which the third window comes up and Jaws users is checked and I uncheck and recheck, and then the Jaws user again tabbing to it is unchecked and check uncheck and check and tab to ok and back into the inbox and this 98% of the time solves the problem. Note, it is not my mail but other members on the group. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of David Ferrin Sent: Thursday, July 20, 2017 6:55 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] memo for the group We have been hit in the past by email providers bouncing messages from this domain, but today ranks as the worst in our history.
