[JAWS-Users] reporting bugs with 2018?

2017-10-05 Thread Adam Morris

Hi all,

I reported an issue with thunderburd and the time it takes to open audio
files.

It wasn't fixed in public beta 2.

Should I report it again or is once per beta cycle enough?

2017-10-05 Thread andy t
Hello I just installed the second beta of jaws 2018 and I didn't have to
remove anything.
I put my computer to sleep and when I re started it I noticed I did not get
the over lay 0 window.
I am hoping they finally fixed this annoying problem at last so we will wait
and see.
I downloaded the jaws 2018 file from the downloads page and then installed
it that way but jaws did not restart on its own, I had to use the short cut
key to re start it the first time after installing it but after that it
seams to be acting

normally.

The reason that I am trying to turn this feature off is that
Freedomscientific technician told me that OCR and a couple of other
features has to be uninstalled for my computer to allow the 2018 beta
to be installed. When I go to programs and features jaws tells me
that overlay windows has to first be turned off. I have not been able
to do this. I guess I will have to call freedomscientific again for

I also have this always on top window on the JAWS Task List.
I am sure this is JAWS-RELATED, because I could check it by pressing

INSERT+for
the Virtual Cursor image on the screen which was introduced a few JAWS

Well...to be fair, it is a beta. I've never installed it but I understand how
beta testing works. What you're trying is not really the full product as it
will be, and you might have to conduct extra steps, uinstalations etc to get
things working stably.

I find it very interesting and disturbing that components needed
uninstalling before 2018 installation.

I have no new info on the overlay today but I was able to install the

folder.  I perfer to save it to my download folder but after many
tries I just couldn't do it that way.  I still wish to find info on
the overlay and will pass it on if I do find it.

I have not been able
to do this.  I guess I will have to call freedomscientific again for
help.

Hi Fred,

I also have this always on top window on the JAWS Task List.
I am sure this is JAWS-RELATED, because I could check it by pressing
INSERT+Q after switching to this window from the JTL. I think this is
INSERT+for
the Virtual Cursor image on the screen which was introduced a few JAWS
18 updates ago, but Im not sure.

2017-10-05 Thread Justin Williams
If someone has explained this, please re send me the e-mail. I've noticed that
the overlay is on at times when I'm unable to alt tab through the taskbar to
the different programs even when they are all open. Does that have something
to do with that?
