[JAWS-Users] reporting bugs with 2018?
Hi all, I reported an issue with thunderburd and the time it takes to open audio files. It wasn't fixed in public beta 2. Should I report it again or is once per beta cycle enough? -- Adam Morris Jaws certified 2016 Phone: +61 2 6654 Email, iMessage & FaceTime a...@damorris.com For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/

Re: [JAWS-Users] Question about windows overlay
Hello I just installed the second beta of jaws 2018 and I didn't have to remove anything. I put my computer to sleep and when I re started it I noticed I did not get the over lay 0 window. I am hoping they finally fixed this annoying problem at last so we will wait and see. I downloaded the jaws 2018 file from the downloads page and then installed it that way but jaws did not restart on its own, I had to use the short cut key to re start it the first time after installing it but after that it seams to be acting normally. -Original Message- From: Maria Campbell Sent: Thursday, October 05, 2017 11:57 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Question about windows overlay I also had the overlay window bit in JAWS 18, but had no trouble installing JAWS 2018. Re: [JAWS-Users] Question about windows overlay
Well...to be fair, it is a beta. I've never installed it but I understand how beta testing works. What you're trying is not really the full product as it will be, and you might have to conduct extra steps, uinstalations etc to get things working stably. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Maria Campbell Sent: October 5, 2017 11:57 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Question about windows overlay I also had the overlay window bit in JAWS 18, but had no trouble installing JAWS 2018. Re: [JAWS-Users] Question about windows overlay
I have had this too ever since installing JAWS 18. It seems harmless and as said, it's probably related to jAWS itself. Never had any problems installing updates but I also have not tested the beta. Interesting. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Fred Adams Sent: October 5, 2017 11:37 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Question about windows overlay I have no new info on the overlay today but I was able to install the 2018 beta by doing the run dialogue and not saving it to my download folder. Re: [JAWS-Users] Question about windows overlay
If someone has explained this, please re send me the e-mail. I've noticed that the overlay is on at times when I'm unable to alt tab through the taskbar to the different programs even when they are all open. Does that have something to do with that? The reason that I am trying to turn this feature off is that Freedomscientific technician told me that OCR and a couple of other features has to be uninstalled for my computer to allow the 2018 beta to be installed.
