Re: [JAWS-Users] JFW 18. whatever, Windows 10, and Microsoft Office 365

2017-10-10 Thread Jorge Rivas
Thanks Eric,
It worked beautifully.
In Windows 10 it didn't want to install, because I had the windows store set
to only installs apps from the store.
I tab once to settings link-enter.
The combobox sounded, so I press alt + down arrow and arrowed to install
apps from any where-enter,
Press alt F4.
Now, when I went back to my download folder and try to install the new
update it installed nice.

HTH,
Jorge

After 10 AM tomorrow morning, there will be a new version 18 on the download
page. Install that over top of your current 18 and the Office 365 issue with
outlook email auto complete addresses is resolved.

Sorry again for that issue for those of you who had it. Things are moving
fast in Office 365.

Hi folks.
I recently updated to the latest JFW 18. Whatever version number they are on
this week.
I use Windows 10 and MS Office 365.
Since the update to JFW, Microsoft Outlook no longer reads the email

Is there a fix for this? If not, how do I communicate this problem to the

Re: [JAWS-Users] New JAWS 18 build

2017-10-10 Thread Miriam Vieni
Well, it isn't necessary now. But what I was doing was to write the first
letter or two of the address I wanted and press enter. Then I would press
insert 8 to read the line and it read the entire address. For example, I'm
on an email list called Blind Democracy to which I post frequently so all I
had to do was type the letter b and then press enter and then read the line
and, invariably, Jaws would read the Blind Democracy address. If I wanted to
send an email to BARDTALK, another list to which I frequently post, I'd type
b a and then press enter and read the line and I'd hear the BARDTALK
address.

I downloaded the build provided in the below links,
the 64 bit version.
It seems to have fixed the Outlook issue sort of. There are still some
addresses that it isn't reading fully, one of which is my husband's. It
matters because I seem to have several addresses for him, some of which I
can tell by how they are labeled, that they are no longer good. Am I doing
something wrong with this, and how do I delete bad addresses. These are
contacts that Outlook has retained but that do not appear in my address
book, they simply show up as options when I type in a person's name in the
to or cc fields

Re: [JAWS-Users] New JAWS 18 build

2017-10-10 Thread Cristóbal
I'm still having an issue present in the last release where when replying or
forwarding an email in Outlook 2016, I can't arrow down. Jaws acts as if I'm
at the bottom of the screen. Using the read by paragraph or sentence
commands work fine and if I arrow up and then try to go back down by line,
the line I was previously on is no longer accessible to me with the read by
line command.
I wrote VFO about this last week along with the issue others were
experiencing with the email address bug. I was informed at that time that
they weren't getting this problem reported by others. It was suggested I do
a Jaws repair and remove some user settings. I really didn't want to go
through that hassle and was thinking of rolling back before I installed the
9/26/17 update with system restore, but then today's update came out. I was
hoping this would fix it along with that annoying email address bug. No go
though.
I wrote VFO again. So who knows. I haven't heard of this particular problem
come up on this and other accessibility lists so maybe it's just me after
all. Oh joy.
I'll wait to see what sort of response I get back in case they've by any
chance now encountered this bug with others.
At least the email address thing got fixed.

Please keep in mind that displaying your messages in HTML is less secure
then displaying them in plain text.

This way, when the e-mail is in plain text, you don't have files that
might be viruses being activated, or beacons being triggered for fishing
e-mails.

I, for one, would not rely on my anti-virus, especially since I'm using
the free one by Microsoft, to completely secure my computer, so I take
every precaution.

If you find this is only happening a fraction of the time, in other words,
you're mostly copying links to send space, or something like that, it's
best to leave it in plain text, and if there's a link you have to click on
to go view a product, let's say, press the keystroke of alt+shift+H, this
will switch the e-mail into HTML, and keep the rest of your e-mails
secure.

Just a thought.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Links don't work in OE

2017-10-10 Thread cheez
Andy, I don't know if that would make a difference. I have Mozilla Firefox
as my default web browser.
She may have a glitch that may be resolved by doing a re-install. What you
think?

Go into your Options in Outlook Express and make sure you have messages
set to be displayed in HTML, not plain-text.

Go to Options, Read tab, and make sure the box to read messages in
plain-text is not checked.

After 10 AM tomorrow morning, there will be a new version 18 on the download
page. Install that over top of your current 18 and the Office 365 issue with
outlook email auto complete addresses is resolved.

Sorry again for that issue for those of you who had it. Things are moving
fast in Office 365.

Eric

Hi,
In the latest FS cast it said that a Jaws update would be coming out to fix
this problem. I believe it said that it was not going to trigger the
notification that there was an update for Jaws so you will have to check it
manually. So there will be a fix shortly if it is not already there I have
not checked.
Thanks,

Hi folks.
I recently updated to the latest JFW 18. Whatever version number they are on
this week.
I use Windows 10 and MS Office 365.
Since the update to JFW, Microsoft Outlook no longer reads the email
addresses when I type a person's name into the "to" or "cc" field of
Microsoft Outlook 365.
Is there a fix for this? If not, how do I communicate this problem to the
powers that be at Freedom Scientific?
Thank you

Re: [JAWS-Users] configuring cCleaner?

the default settings are all you need. after doing a scan and when jaws
announces 100 percent press shift + tab twice and it'll give you the results
of the scan.

Hi all,

I heard somewhere there was a way to know with cCleaner what things were
being cleaned like whether cookies were removed and passwords not etc.

Does anyone have any tips on how to get these things reading with either
jaws 18 or 2018?

Mike, it does work when I copy the link and then paste it into the address
bar in IE
That's how I've done it the last few times now.

For some reason, this problem just started out of the blue. I have no idea
why.

I'll have to use the copy/paste go-round.

Thanks for all the help.

Hi Arianna,

Did this problem just start happening all of a sudden?

Awhile back if you pressed, Jaws key + Z, to toggle the virtual cursor on
and off, would sometimes fix this issue, & sometimes it took invoking the
keystroke more than once.

If you copy & paste the link into the Run dialogue & press enter will it
work then?

Also, is it possible that the links are sent in plain text? If so, then
pasting them into the Run dialogue should work. Or, you can try the
keystrokes below on the links.

To open links sent in plain text, try the following for Outlook Express.
#1. Place the cursor at the beginning of the link & invoke the keystroke,
Shift + Enter.

#2. Place the cursor at the beginning of the link & invoke the keystroke,
Alt, Shift, + H. Invoking this particular on a link somehow turns the
link
into an HTML link & now, just press enter.

Take care. Mike. Go Dodgers!
