[JAWS-Users] need help with security capture screens.

For my fellow JAWS users. 
I have been trying to set up an account out on STEAM for online games. 
Like most web pages these days it takes a security capture code. 
Now most companies these days  are offering a audio challenge. 
But Valve corporation, the company behind the STEAM online gaming web page 
isn’t even offering we blind gamers a audio challenge.

I can get through all of the fields except when it comes to the security 
capture screen. 
Even my sighted father couldn’t even read the stupid security capture info to 
me. 
So, I’m running windows 10 and the latest copy of jaws 17. 
Can we get jaws to read capture screen info to us? 
That way, we too may enjoy some of these web pages.

[JAWS-Users] Is the following a JAWS 17 issue or a windows 10 issue?

Hi to all. 
Anyone have the following problem when down loading a program or what ever, or 
transvering a folder or file from one drive or folder to another or what ever? 
I am seeing the following. 
You would start the transfer and or down load and you would see the following 
message 
Get less details checked. 
So you would tap your spacebar to uncheck that and the get more details would 
pop up which is what you want but it tells you that the get more details is’' 
not actually checked. 
So to get the get more details to be checked to get more details you tap your 
spacebar. 
But when you do tap your spacebar thinking that you’ll check the get more 
details the get less details pops up and it states that it is checked once 
again. 
So which is giving you the accurate info. 
Are you getting the more details when you have the less details checked or are 
you getting the more details when the get more details is checked like it 
should be checked? 
See my issue that I’m having?

To my fellow JAWS users.
I noticed when down loading I would get less details checked. 
So I would uncheck it. 
Then when I do that I would see the pop up more details not checked. 
When I would go to check the more details to get more details while down 
loading, I would get less details checked. 
Is this another jaws 17 display issue or is this another win 10 issue. 
Also, one more item as I think of it. 
In windows 7 when I would down load items to the pc or move folders and files 
around, you would see how fast the folders and files are moving at. 
Now in win 10, you do see how many files and or folders you’re moving, it also 
shows up how many files and or folders are left to be moved and a eta to 
complete the moval of everything. 
But you don’t se your processer speed to move those items. 
It this too a JAWS 17 display issue or is it a win 10 display issue? 
It would be nice to receive this info once again as well as the already info 
that we’re receiving.

Hi Eric, from Ron and Leader Dog Boz.
When we would do a win I and check up on the updates, we would get your 
computer is up to date or we're down loading updates and would you like to 
reboot your system and so on.
We're no longer are getting those messages when we check up on the updates 
ans such.

Could you look into that with the next jfw update?\
Or was that changed with the win 10 update?
If it was a change when JFW 17 was released, any chance or giving us back 
those messages?

[JAWS-Users] asking a few questions.

Hi to all, from Ron Kolesar. 
I’m currently using the latest version of jaws, which also encludes the patch 
that came down the other day as well.
I purchased a USB to nine pen adaptor so that I may be able to use my dec-talk 
express once again. 
I see that my dec-talk is plugged into com port 3, how can I change this to be 
plugged into com port one? 
Also, not sure why this is happening, but noticed it after using the dt 
express. 
When I press the deleete key on the calculator keypad to delete a letter some 
time it will just say delete and other times it spells the word delete and 
still kills the letter. 
Would anyone know why this is. 
Also, one last item. 
I’ve tried I think it’s a alt l or is it a ctrl l for language. 
I’ve tried to type in english, but it will not expcept it. 
So for synthesizer language it is set to none. 
Do we need a language? 
Because it is working fine without a language set. 
Just some thought and I’m enjoying dec-talk express on a win 10 machine.

Hi

No, you cannot use Dectalk Access32 on a Windows 7 computer.  It only works
on Windows XP.

If you're referring to Dectalk Access32, the version from Freedom Scientific
will run on any Version of JAWS, but only if it is run on Windows XP or
lower.  Unfortunately, Dectalk Access32 cannot be successfully used on
Windows Vista, 7 or 8 and I assume Windows 10.  So Dectalk Access32 can be
used on JAWS 15 and earlier on Windows XP.  But it cannot be used with JAWS
16 or later since they can't be installed on Windows XP.  To use Dectalk
Access32 from Freedom Scientific you had to pay for an upgrade to your JAWS
license.  There also used to be a version of Dectalk Access32 from GW Micro,
but I believe JAWS  stopped supporting that version in JAWS 11 or 12.

Hi to all. 
yesterday I unsubscribed and resubscribed to the jaws mailing list. 
Why? 
Because I receive a message stating that I had to do this because I was sending 
bounced messages. 
So I unsubscribed the resubscribed to the list and then sent a successful 
letter out to the list. 
Now I just checked my mail and I see another message about me submitting 
another bounced letter to the list and I have to do this again.

Hi to all. 
I have win 10 64 bit. 
I have both winrar and 7-zip and I’m trying to open a dot 7z file. 
I was told by the person who up loaded it that 7-zip could open it. 
But neither winrar nor7 zip will open it. 
When Iinstalled both programs Isimply clicked on the next button and let the 
computer worry about what to do.

I'm not sure I understand your message based on its current syntax.
However by me with number translation set to some and dollars checked it
when seeing the value as you presented it is reading it at ten dollars and
twenty five cents as it ought.

My brother tried your repair tips to fix our version of JAWS, but with no 
luck.

For some weird reason the dicitionary just will not open up.
I had posted a letter earily today to this list, but I thought that yo might 
have some thoughts on how to fix the dictionary for me?

or you can just get the executable jaws version from FS which is correct for
your jaws version
just run it and if jaws detects the version is already installed it'll give
you choices: modify, repair or remove

Awhile back someone posted 3 ways to repair Jaws. The most helpful way for
me was the third way which was similar to the way I repaired it in older
versions where you go to a place that asked if you wanted to modify or
repair.  Can someone repost the directions?  I was going to open the EXE
file and start the install and try to repair it from there, but as this
option isn't an option anymore I thought I would inquire about a possible
similar way to do this.

Hi Ron,

Here's a tutorial I wrote on how to use the batch converter, a feature that
GoldWave has.

This will allow you to do more than one file at a time, and you don't have
to sit there and wait for the file to decompress in the main window.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

***Begin Tutorial***

If you are in the Gold Wave main window, once it opens up, if you press the
alt+F to get to the file menu, then press the letter B for batch
conversions, it will open up another dialog box that you can do batch
conversions with, or you can choose to do just one file, it's up to you.

Once in that dialog box, tab to the button that says add, and press the
space bar.

Another dialog box will pop up, similar to the save as dialog box, so if you
know exactly where the file is, go ahead and type it in.  If you don't know
the exact file location, just do a shift+tab to the window just above the
one you're in, and backspace four or five times, or until your screen reader
reads out my documents.

Once it says that, just go ahead and find the folder where the files are
that you want to convert.

Once you find the files, go ahead and select them, either, contiguously, or
non-contiguously, and tab to the open button and press the spacebar.

Once you press the open button, you'll land back on the add button.  If you
have more files you want to convert, just press the add button and go
through what I just outlined above.

If you don't have anymore files to convert, you can tab to the check box
that says, convert files to this format.  Make sure this box is checked, so
you can tell it what to convert the files to.

Once you check that box, tab down to the combo box that asks you what file
type to convert the files to.  You must want to select the exact file type
for all the files you want to convert.  You can't do one file type for some
of the files and another file type for another bunch of files you selected.
That's why this function is called the batch conversion feature of Gold
Wave.  You can only convert the files to the same file type.

Once you select the file format you want to convert the files to, tab down
to the bitrate and frequency selection.
I'm going to assume, for time's sake, that you already know all about
bitrate and frequency rates, and just continue on from here to the next
step.

Once you set the bitrate and frequency rates, do a control+tab over to the
file locations tab to set where you would like Gold Wave to save the
converted files once their done.

You have two choices here.

You can either choose to save the converted files in their original folders,
or save them in a different folder.  This I leave up to you, and I can tell
you that this tab is pretty much self-explanatory, so go ahead and make your
settings as you see fit.

Once you've made your selection, just tab over to the button that says
begin, and press the spacebar.

Once a dialog box pops up, with an ok button, you're files are done
converting, and you can just press the ok button.

You'll land back on the begin button, so just tab over to the cancel button,
then you'll land on the Gold Wave main window.  You can just alt+F4 out of
that, and you can go delete the pre-converted files.

Just make sure you clear your recycle bin, as those files will use up a lot
of space on your computer.

I would also recommend you check the files for length and bitrate choice, as
you can always go back into your recycle bin and restore the files you
deleted, so I suggest you check the files before you empty the recycle bin.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask, and I'll endeavour to
answer them as quickly as possible.

When I do a Insert D I get the following error message. 
Jdiction file not responding. 
Now I get this when I do a insert D. 
So I can not eve get to the ctrl shift d command. 
I have serval areas that I need to add to the dictionary.

Well, it must have been a message from windows defender.
I simply just smacked enter or you probably could smack the spacebar on the 
message and it did it's thing.
Then after it was completed I rana thorough scan and nothing else was found 
on my PC.

when defender detects a threat it popps up a message to clean your computer,
it is a feature of defenderto clean the threats out!
I've experienced windows 10 defender before installing vipre.  I only
installed vipre because I had bought it prior to win 10 and I didn't want to
waste the money!

Hi to all.
I have both goldwave but not yet installed, but I do have VLC installed.
Would anyone have good step by step instructions for converting m4a files to
mp3 files?
For we Victor Reader Stream version 2 owners.
VRS will play m4a files in the music bookshelf.
But you can not fast forward or rewind the file.
Plus, it’s looking like when I go to try to play a different audio m4a
formatted tutorial, it plays only the one file.
So I’d like to listen to Jim’s tutorials on my small VRS unit to be easier
to follow along.
Until I pick up a couple of USB to nine pen adaptors so that I can have my
dec-talk express back.
Because everything coming out of the speakers will drive you nuts. SMILES.

Hi back you Robin.
Everytime I bring up the dictionary I receive the following error message:
jdictionMFC application has stopped working a problem caused the program to 
stopped working correctly.

Windows will close and notify you if a solution is avilible.
So, that is what I  am getting when I try to use thedictionary.
I did solve my fanatic spellingproblem though.
Any thoughts on why the dicitonary will not work?

I agree it's working for me too here. And I'm not sure I understand the
meaning of the dictionary doesn't work. I've instructed JFW to pronounce a
word correctly when it didn't know how in the default dictionary and had no
problem saving and maintaining the results. If this refers to something else
I apologize in advance.

For those who tried to help me out with my ascending and descending reading 
order issues.
I called MS tech support and we found the problem. 

In the oneplace under view, I had to many items checked. 
All that I needed to be checked  was the date. 
Once we  unchecked priority and everything else, it now works.

Tried your advice and it didn't work.
I also reunchecked having replys at the bottum.
The replys are better if they're at the top.
But The order that the come in I'd like to have the newer messages at the 
bottum.
Now also, if I only could figure out why the documents are going into the 
down load folder instead of the doc folder like they're suppose to.

I found out that I had to many checked in the one item that's under view.
The only thing that should had been check was by date.
Then the asend and descend worked like a charm.

[JAWS-Users] Can i get step by step instructions for converting m4a files to mp3 files?

Hi to all. 
I have both goldwave but not yet installed, but I do have VLC installed. 
Would anyone have good step by step instructions for converting m4a files to 
mp3 files? 
For we Victor Reader Stream version 2 owners.
VRS will play m4a files in the music bookshelf. 
But you can not fast forward or rewind the file. 
Plus, it’s looking like when I go to try to play a different audio m4a 
formatted tutorial, it plays only the one file. 
So I’d like to listen to Jim’s tutorials on my small VRS unit to be easier to 
follow along. 
Until I pick up a couple of USB to nine pen adaptors so that I can have my 
dec-talk express back.
Because everything coming out of the speakers will drive you nuts. SMILES.

Hey, Keven.
I know where the short by is at under the ribbons.
I have tried clicking on both the ascending and descending buttons.
But it doesn't matter my new unread mail is at the top and I would like the 
new unread mail at the bottum.

Plus one other thing I've noticed.
For some weird reason, my documents  are going into  my down loads folder.
any thoughts on how to make them go into the documents folder where they 
belong in the first place?

you should have written
press alt key to bring up the ribbons
arrow to the view ribbon
from the view ribbon arrow to message sorting
enter
arrow until you get to ascending descending
make sure  descending  is checked

Is anyone having problems with the dictionary?Hi to all, I am playing a 
online truck driving game. 
There are some abbreviations and some words that need to be placed in the 
dictionary to sound better.
Just using the insert d command crashes JFW and you have to wait a good two 
minutes before it will start up again. 
Don’t even ask me about the default for the dictionary. 
So I was curious to know if anyone else is having problems with the insert key 
with win 10 and jfw 17?

He is a cool guy and he told us to call him anytime for free help.

Sell it to the first sucker that comes across your path. SMILES.
Even the It guy who came and inported my older mailboxes and mail for me 
couldn't belive this stupid keyboard.

The insert key was on the top roll and you had to count seven over from 
right to left tofind it.
There was now spacing like there normally is in a computer or even from 
those olden days of large print a typewriter keyboard has keys spaces apart 
and grouped together.

Please for give me for the A915Felling errors.
I do have two major medical issues, and it is now starting to effect my 
hands and fingers while I trying to type.
The i.d.number once again is 722401 and it was the computer itself ws on 
sell for $599.

So a awsome deal.
Pluse, I got a nice email letter from the saleman and also a second letter 
from the team for with the extra $120 or in that neighborhood on the extra 
insurance.

Using win 10 on m new machine. 
  a.. I’m not sure if it is the USB wireless USB keyboard or it might e jaws. 
  b.. But everytime I go to use the diction it crashes jaws. 
  c.. So, I just was cureious if anyone else has had this same  issue?

I just tried to hold down on the left ctrl, shift and the right arrow key to 
copy a word to the clipboard. 
I even called my dad in to verify to make sure if the word was being copied to 
the clip board. 
  1.. Since I’m typing this letter o the same keyboard to the list. 
  2.. It has to be a JFW problem with j17 and win 10. 
Wouldn’t you think?

[JAWS-Users] Finally Back up and running.

To all of my knoledgeable friends, I need your help with a problem. 
I have my mail back up and running. 
Before killing the older computer and there’s more things to get off of the 
older computer. 
But I went down under user, then app data, then local, then microsoft then to 
windows live mail and copied that folder and all of my mailboxes and everything 
inside the folder. 
But I have the following problem. 
How can I get my older mailboxes with all of those EM:L files of letters, into 
the new windows live mail folder in the new computer? 
I know a couple smart people like Londa and Dave could help me with this small 
problem. 
So, I hope I haven’t lost all of that mail.

Also, one weird thing that I am still receiving even on the newer computer. 
When I go to type a address in the to field. 
Even those I only type in the address once, and it could be because some times 
I type in the address by the address and other times via the nickname for that 
pers. 
But, it doesn’t matter how I do the address in the to field, it still comes up 
two copies of the address. 
The first address is fine, but then without a space at the end of the first 
copy of the first address I get a greater than sign then the second copy of the 
address then a lesser than sign then a colon. 
Then I usually have to cut the entire line out of the to box and place it into 
the cc box or where ever. 
Go to the greater than sign and space it once so it isn’t near the original 
copy of the email address that I want and then deleete the greater than and 
crap out, and then cut the original copy of the email address that I want and 
place it back into the to field once again, then double check it to make sure 
there’s no colons or spaces at the end of the address. Then only then can I 
ship out the letter. 
Also, To the left of the body of the letter it states that I have a personal 
business card. I never put it into any of my out going mail. So how can I kill 
that as well? 
I thank anyone who can help me out in advance. 
Now I can read all of that back log of mail from about the last week from being 
down getting the new window ten computer.

Can't you skip the ease of access and just use the windows key enter to fire 
up the windows narrator.

I know you said Alt n to fire up narraotr.
But windows key enter also will fire up narrator.
If we can fire up narrator, why go to the ease of access and then go to 
narrator?
Can't we elimate the middle man and use just the narrator with a new 
computer for the first time?
I hopefully will have a new computer myself here around thanks giving and or 
Christmas.

When you boot the computer, wait a minute or two, to allow the system too
load everything,
then press the Windows key + the Letter U,  to open the "Ease of Access
Center".
Next, press Alt + the letter N, to start Narrator.
Be patient, Narrator may take a few seconds to start talking.

From this point, you should be able to navigate the pre-setup screens using

the tab key and arrow keys.
Once you have completed this process, Windows should load the desktop, at
which time you can install Jaws.

My current laptop is malfunctioning and I purchased a new HP laptop.  I
chose one that uses Windows 7 because I have MS Office 2007 and Outlook 2007
and they serve my needs.  I am charging the computer now.  When I turn it on
for the first time it will have no speech capability so I don't know if it
will show instructions or updates on the screen.  I will load my JAWS 15 SMA
CD and run it.  Are there any traps or problems anybody has experienced in
starting their laptop for the first time?  Would it be a good idea to have
sighted help for that initial start?

Any wisdom will be appreciated.

on-line such as banking and shopping, in addition to many web apps found in

companies and government agencies. For instance, Internet Explorer can be
used to log onto a Microsoft SharePoint server to collaborate with other
co-workers
and create and store documents. The new Smart NavigationT feature is
designed to make it more efficient when navigating web-based applications
with the
Virtual Cursor as the LEFT and RIGHT ARROW or CTRL+LEFT and CTRL+RIGHT ARROW
commands move by control instead of character and word. This makes
navigation
such as moving across toolbars, tab strips, and navigation links more like
navigating around a desktop application. Pressing the Say Character, Say
Word,
or Say Line commands twice quickly changes to the traditional navigation by
character, word, line, sentence, and paragraph so you can review the text of
the control. Smart Navigation resumes when you move to a different control
by pressing UP or DOWN ARROW or TAB. Alternatively, you can use the INSERT+X
command to quickly toggle between Smart Navigation and the more traditional
character and word navigation depending on the type of web site you are

For example, if you use the LEFT and RIGHT ARROW keys to move across a tab

PAD 5), or Say Line (INSERT+UP ARROW) commands twice quickly. You can now

Smart Navigation is off by default. To turn it on, there are a few ways.

The quickest way to enable Smart Navigation is through the Startup Wizard

focused on a group of radio buttons where you can use the ARROW keys to
choose

but not in Internet Explorer.

You can also temporarily toggle Smart Navigation on or off using the

be enabled
by default and you encounter a web page where you would prefer not to use

So you're saying
1. If I get Vipre, it will take care of both win 10's built in defender and 
it will also take care of what Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is supp-ose to do 
as well?
2. For the one time lifetime fee, how many computer can use that one 
program?

I ask this because I have the desktop in my bedroom.
My brother has a laptop, and our folks have their laptop.
So can you use it on more than one machine?
3. I remember seeing a while back from this list that there is a audio 
tutorial of the vipre program. For which version of the program is it for?

Is it for learning one's way around ver 15 or ver 16?
When one is on SSDI, you have to watch one's budget.
Even if you do live at home with your folks.
But the bills still have to be paid first before picking up new toys.

Vipre will not run with Defender, however, you will not need it with Vipre.
I know exactly where you are coming from on the income front. I feel that
anyone should take the plunge one time and purchase a lifetime subscription
for Vipre rather than the yearly subscription. For about the price of 2
years subscription, you can take advantage of the programs benefits for the
life of your computer, and since I did purchase a 3 PC license, I am still
using it on my newest computer. I am liking the 2016 version of Vipre, it is
more accessible than it has been for the past year, and it is working well
for me. The program does take a little getting used to, but once you find
your way around to the different things that you need to use, it will become
very easy to use. It will be quite awhile before I purchase another
computer, but I am considering purchasing another license to Vipre when I
do, unless something dramatic  changes in the program by that time. Please
let me know if I can be of any assistance  in helping you set up the program
or other issues when you make your decision.

tell you that there are 1 or 2 or whatever threats in quarantine, and offer
you the opportunity to delete them and some other choices. I have only seen
this one time, just after upgrading to the 2016 version. Since then, I
fortunately have not had any other threats quarantined. Under the Manage tab
and then the Antivirus tab, it will now state how many threats that you have
been protected from. I hope this  helps.

[JAWS-Users] Having problems shipping out attached files with wlm.

Hi to all.
I tried to ship a picture out to someone from off of the list that I belong 
to.

I've tried adding the picture to the letter and it locked up the pc.
I also went to the picture then and tapped my applications key and went to
send to and again it locked up my pc.
I get the message about do you want to wait, restart or close out the file.
If I do so, I can lose data message.
I'm running win 190 and WLM I believe ver 11.
So, is anyone having problems shipping out attachments?

[JAWS-Users] A windows defender view point.

Hi to all.
I just notice something interesting with windows 10 anti virus program
defender.
When you run a scan and when the scan is completed.
If you do your normal insert f11 you'll see pc status protected show up in
your system tray.
But if you reboot your computer, then do a insert f11 to go back into the
system tray, the statement pc status protection is no longer in your list of
items in your system tray.
Wondering if this is a win 10 issue or a jaws issue.
Because I like seeing it in my system tray.
Because I then know that my system is being protected.
Just was curious if anyone has notice this as well.

It is cool to be able to go down the list of mailboxes if you use the  ctrl 
y combo.
But if you do it that way, you can not tell if your mail that is in the box 
is read or unread.

So, what next? SMILES.

I don't know how to fix this, but I do know how to avoid it. Instead of
tabbing to the tree to change folders, press control + Y. That will give you
a list of all your folders. You can use first letter navigation in there
too. When you find the folder you want, just hit enter.

[JAWS-Users] can someone recommend a reliable, up to date, jaws friendly anti firus program?

Hi to all.
Been hear quing a bit about Vipre.
And I am tempted to pick up the one time lifetime membership of a price of 
$80.
But how good is it up against the new program that comes with win 10 the new 
windows defender which was the older windows security iessentials and of 
course a little added protection in the program Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
Now with windows defender, I wonder if we'll still need the Malwarebytes 
Anti-Malware program?

Also, been meaning to try the following trick.
Think if we down load a demo fo the newer version for win 10, if we could 
throw in our older unlock code and it would unlock the demo to full mode?

Just a thought.
Also, after I pick up my new pc around when the Christmas specials comes 
out, it might have a even better anti virous package onboard the new 
machine.

So really could use some advice in this matter.

Yes, I learned thanks to Jim in the win 10 and jaws list.
That the best way to create a new folder will be to do a ctrl, shift N as in 
new folder combo.

Give your folder it's name and smack the good old friend the enter key.
You're all set to throw goodies into that new folder.
I think that's the last problem I was having for win 10.
Now, can someone help me to set up a account so that my dad can start enjjoy 
the games and I can start whistling at cortana. SMILES.

If you want to create a nw folder, do the following. Navigatge to the
place where you want the new folder to be.
Press Control + Space Bar to unselect everything.
Press the applications key to open the context menu.
arrow up two times to the New item, and press enter.
The first selection should be Folder.
Press enter, then back space to remove the name "New Folder, and type in the
name that you want to use.
Press enter again, and your folder is created.

I love the new shortcut for making folders.
Simply just use ctrl shift n to make a new folder, give it a name and press 
the enter key.

Just would like to thank all of my fellow subscribers for all of your help.
I just got off of the phone with microsoft support for the disabled hotline.
Was on the phone with them for about a hour hour and a half and found out
1. had virouses that I didn't know that I had.
2. the UAC was up to high.
But I always usually had the UAC set a one hundred percent and still was 
able to down load programs.

But they ran my ie back to defaults then rebult it for me.
I not sure what I am going to do with the win 10 icon.
I know where to go in windows to back up my wlm mail and their mailboxes, I 
know where to go to gram bht favorites, the my documents folder and the down 
load folder.

I think that pretty much covers everything to a rewriteable dvd disk.
The lady from the phone said that I could grab the icon and up grade to win 
10 from 7 but to back up the folders and files before doing so.
Which we all know is the firstrule of computers is to back up back up back 
first.

Also, they said that there's a link on win 10 to save files.
I was told if that is checked that you shouldn't loose anything.
Has anyone who has used the icon to jump from win 7 to win 10 loss anything 
from their computer?

Maybe I just need a hand holding. SMILES.

Do you want to kill or remove J15?  Your message is confusing.  If you want
to remove J15 highlight it in Programs  Features, open your context menu
with the application key or shift + F10,  press enter on Uninstall.
When asked if you want to removed shared settings  shared components,
choose no, you want these to remain.

I don't recall what happens after this, but I'm sure if you follow the
prompts you will be okay.  Make sure you reboot the computer after removing
J15,  be sure that J16 is assigned to start when starting the computer.

one thing to think about.
I have my updates set to automatic.
But you will see a checkmark to let me to decide which updates I want to 
down load and to install first.

I have that checked.
So, you'll should still be able to get your updates but they will not 
install unless you check them off to be down loaded and installled.

At least I think that's how that works out.

To remove KB3035583, first open Windows Update and click Installed Updates
in the bottom-left corner.
To quickly find KB3035583, you can sort by name. Once you've located it,
right-click and choose Uninstall.

Some readers have noted that KB3035583 returns if you don't hide it. If you
have Windows updates set to download and install automatically, this means
that if you uninstall this update, it will be reinstalled automatically a
few days later.
To hide the KB3035583 update and prevent it from being reinstalled,
right-click on it in the Windows Update application and select Hide
update.
After, the update's selection box will be grayed out and cannot be checked.

From hereon, the update will be hidden whenever you reopen Windows Update

unless you decide to restore it.

My name is Ron Kolesar and I'm using jaws ver 16 with win 7 64 bit 
processor.

How does one reservce one's copy of win 10?
I'm also hearing quite a bit that we shouldn't grab the version that will be 
coming down on July 29th.

But we should reserve it but not install it.

The reason why I couldn't find settings because of the following.
I thought when you were talking settings that you mint settings for the pc 
and not jaws settings.

I now have the new feature set.

Hi Ron,

First, there are no stupid questions!  The only stupid question, is the
question that is not asked.  Noone knows everything.

There are 2 ways to get to the Settings Center that I know of:
#1. Press, Insert / Jaws Key + 6, on the number row above the main keyboard.

#2. Press, Insert / Jaws key + the F2 Key, to open the Jaws Manager, arrow
down to, Settings Center,  press enter.  Or, while in the Jaws Manager
press the letter, S, until you land on Settings Center  press enter.

To open the Settings Center - Default All Applications:

After opening the, Settings Center, press, control, shift + D.

learned of.  Where to find,  it's explanation is below.

between News Feed stories. However, these keystrokes also conflict with JAWS
Navigation Quick Keys.
When this check box is selected, any JAWS keystrokes that are also defined
as hot keys by a Web site will perform the site specific task instead of the
JAWS command. This check box is cleared by default
