Re: [JAWS-Users] FACEBOOK ISSUES: ACCESSING THE CHAT FEATURE
Can somebody help me with this please? I installed AIM, but soon uninstalled it as although I could sign into Facebook, no way did I think it was easily accessible with JAWS 11.0.1430 32 bit on Windows 7. I will ask for help, as a separate thread, on my Blind Facebook list, which you can join by sending a blank message to b-f-b-subscr...@yahoogroups.com. For now though, any tips would be very helpful. Thank you very much. Go to www.facebook.com Press Enter on the link which says, "Open Chat" A new window will open. You can now choose the person you wish to talk to. After finding that person, press Enter on that name. On top of the page, arrow down till you hear, "View Profile". Below it, there should be an Edit box where you can type the message. This box is like the history window for Windows Live Messenger. If you hear your name followed by the time stamp spoken then by the message, you have sent that message. If your friend responds, you should hear a "Pop" sound. Hope this method works. Route to Jaws cursor by pressing jaws key + the minus key on the number pad. 4.) Hi, It's no trouble at all. This could be useful to those who haven't switched to IE8 just like me. It might just benefit someone. Now that I have it fixed with upgrading to I.E. 8 and I am not experiencing a whole lot of problems with I.E. 8 I may keep it since it makes the chat open the original way. Have you used the chat recently using I.E. 7? I would have never upgraded to I.E. 8 but everytime I would go into chat I kept getting redirected to another window.
