I know where downloads are going straight to downloads in trish's folder. I usually been drop boxing from the xp machine to get on win 7 later. I installed a game today and this is one instance the firewall reared up, and no, I am not using IE 9. Let's see what else I did over yonder on said computer today.. made a couple of folders, poked around in some of the stuff installed on that contraption, installed some windows updates, set and reset my setting on my game site, looked in firewall settings but didn't get very far there. then it was time to send it to shut off. - Original Message - From: David To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Tuesday, December 06, 2011 4:51 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws in System-Tray Hi there; Do you hear a sound? Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws in System-Tray
As an xp dino, I am not sure of this but does win 7 have a setting to hide inactive icons in the system tray? I do not know what this would be called under win7 or if it even exists but under xp, vanishing icons might be caused by that setting, which under xp is found in the taskbar properties. Just a guess! Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws in System Tray
Hi. I should also add that, at least on my particular system, that when you check the run JAWS in system tray checkbox and press ok, the only way to get this behavior to happen is to shut down, and restart JAWS. I don't know if that was by design. Anyways, That's how it works for me. and to be honest I quite prefer it being in the system tray. Nice! Hi John, Your post did not sound sarcastic,it is just the way that Jaws says it. Something for everyone to keep in mind, it's easy to mis-interpret what is said in the written word when useing a screen reader. The benefit I can think of is that JAWS will not be in the alt tab list, so if you have multiple applications open you can alt tab to them without alt tabbing to JAWS. I like JAWS in my system tray, but some people prefer it in the taskbar. It's just personal preference. Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws in System Tray
There is no benefit to be had from it being neither in the System Tray nor on the taskbar, if such were possible (which it isn't). I like it in the system Tray, running in the background like some other apps (such as antivirus, Juice, etc.). There are some options it is easier to change in JAWS by having it there, than having to go into the Config Manager with its slews of settings. - Original Message - From: Patricia [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Monday, October 08, 2007 4:34 AM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws in System Tray No. I want to have it out of the sys tray, I know how to do this.. The first option in the tree view should be 'Basics...'. Press Enter and tab to 'Run JAWS from System Tray' and check it by pressing the Space key. Then press Enter, close JAWS like other applications with ALT + F4 and restart it. Now JAWS shouldn't appear as an application window on your screen anymore. Was it that what you were looking for?
