I keep my passwords on a piece of Braille paper right beside my computer. I also Braille the name of the account they go with, as well as my user name. No, I don't like to save passwords unless I have to. Why do they call them guidance counselors when all counselors do is offer guidance? Re: [JAWS-Users] Password Prompts In Internet Explorer
Hello Trish, One thing to keep in mind is that the checkbox only controls whether or not a person is prompted each time. In that same page there is a checkbox for whether or not auto complete is used for user names and passwords on forms. If you don't want passwords to be a part of auto complete then that checkbox should likely also be unchecked. Also that same page of the dialog has a button for deleting auto complete history. If that button is used there is an option for removing the history of passwords. Take care. Re: [JAWS-Users] Password Prompts In Internet Explorer
Hi, I did find what you wrote here, I unchecked the one for auto-complete for forms mode, I didn't find any other ones for passwords. I did find the history clear button, but chose not to delete. I have a very tempermentle bank, if cookies is removed, it messes me up big time. I have to make sure the site is in that are to always allow, anyways I haven't been coming across those sites asking for IE to remember the password lately, it could be that I am not very venterous and just go to same sites over and over. It's real annoying cause, sometimes, it won't display the site until you do that alt N, and even with that, it might pop up a msg admistermative rights or something, I have to tab to ok button to get it to vanish. - Original Message - From: Brian Lee brianl...@charter.net To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Thursday, September 25, 2014 5:20 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Password Prompts In Internet Explorer Hello Trish, One thing to keep in mind is that the checkbox only controls whether or not a person is prompted each time. all is o.k with logging into my bank, if it's not affected, then I can deal with the rest of annoying pop ups. Re: [JAWS-Users] Password Prompts In Internet Explorer
Hi Trish, The checkboxes should only be unchecked if you don't want to use the auto complete feature of IE. Some people prefer the auto complete for forms and for user names and passwords so they don't remove the checkmark. Others prefer that IE not remember and want to type in the info themselves. If your banking site has form fields that you like to be automatically filled in then you might choose not to uncheck the boxes and let IE remember the info. I just mentioned those other options as other controls that can be used in addition to not being prompted by IE to save passwords. Take care.
