Re: [JAWS-Users] Voice settings!!!
Aaron, In the voice adjustment window, there will be a "Save As" item. Click on this and save the settings you made. Give it a name, or let it over write the default, then click on "OK." You now should have the same thing everytime you open JAWS. hth, Mike blindb...@comcast.net -Original Message- From: Arun Sent: Sunday, June 15, 2014 8:42 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] Voice settings!!! Re: [JAWS-Users] Voice Settings
Kerry, In jaws 11 you have to distinguish clearly between the voice adjustment menu and the profile selection menu under the voices menu from within the jaws contextual menu. The shortcut control s with jaws key, only brings up the select profile menu, which may perhaps be what you also get via the systems tray, I'm not sure. But in that menu, you cannot change the profile settings, only select already set up profiles. Thus, the change language synthesiser settings, only appears in the adjust voices menu, which is the one you can't reach via the shortcut. If you change the synthesiser language, only the profiles available for the language you've chosen, appears. So, if you have one Spanish voice profile set up or installed, it will only appear when your synthesiser language is set to Spanish and vice versa with the English voices. As elloquence have voices for both Spanish and English, the elloquence voice will appear in both, but the Solo direct human sounding voices, are tethered to the specific installed voices for that presently selected language synthesiser. Only when you turn the synthesiser voice back to the other one, you would get back the other languages' voices. Hi Kerryann. If you have set up Jaws in normal mode, and not to run from the system tray, you ought to could use alt+tab to the jaws window, and then the alt key to get to the menu line, and at the settings point, arrow down to voices and go to the submenu, and from there do your settings in jaws. It is not working by the tree view longer, when Jaws is'nt set to run from the system tray. Re: [JAWS-Users] Voice Settings
Life will be borring if we get all the answers. I think we can learn from exploring JAWS settings and remember to read what is new in JAWS. It is hard but if you use the edit box can help. I suggest you also listen to the podcast on JAWS 12. Good luck to all of us. -Original Message- From: Alan Dicey Sent: Friday, September 10, 2010 4:56 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] Voice Settings Dear Kerry, I am also working on how to figure out this mess FS created with setting up and setting each of the Solo-Direct voices profiles. Re: [JAWS-Users] Voice Settings
Hi all. You are looking for voice adjustments, which is new in JAWS 11. Previous versions used global and/or individual voice settings. Now it's all in one dialogue box, Voice Adjustments. Hope this helps. From Chris H in Derbyshire On 10/09/2010 20:35, Kerryann Ifill wrote: Hi List, I've been brushing up on my jaws skills lately and I'm slightly stumped on what I've done wrong.
