[JAWS-Users] jaws and thunderbird

2017-10-22 Thread Dennis Long
Hi, a few questions. 1 can you quickly access the message headers when
sending or when you receive a message using the alt 1 through alt 6 keys? 2
is there a way to prevent thunderbird from marking messages as fishing or
spam? Thanks.

[JAWS-Users] Jaws and Thunderbird issue.

2017-10-11 Thread Randy Barnett
Hi, I am using Windows 10 1709 build 16299.15, Jaws 18 build 4350 and
Thunderbird v52.4 and have noticed that it is acting strange at times.

When replying to a message I sometimes have to shift tab to the subject
line then tab back to the message field just to be able to type.

There are times when using ctrl + right arrow Jaws will read a letter
twice even though there is only one letter. Example actual word cool
ctrl + right

arrow says c c o o l It will not delete correctly when this happens.

I have uninstalled then reinstalled TB and it still happens. It also
happened in the last release too.

Well, now in addition to the other issues it wont type a certain letter
in a word. Example: tried to type stranger things. Actual text typed:
straner thns. Every time i tried to add the letter g it freezes up my
system for a few seconds. The
more I try to type the letter g the longer the system freezes.. Switched
to NVDA and was able to finish the e-mail message just fine.

So it seems to be a jaws issue.
Any ideas?

Sent from my iPhoneHello everyone, I just downloaded thunder bird and so far I
like it quite well. I used to love outlook express, but, of course don't have
that any more. I have been using web mail, but decided to try thunder bird. I
have two accounts set up, and wonder what is the easiest way to get from one
inbox to the other.
Thanks in advance.

[JAWS-Users] Jaws and Thunderbird - am I missing something?

2012-08-25 Thread Michelle McQuigge

Hi all,

After my recent conversion to Windows 7, I found myself underwhelmed
with Outlook 2010 and decided to make the switch to Thunderbird. Since
every blind person and their brother seemed to be using it, I thought
I'd find it fairly seamless when it comes to accessibility. So far that
has not been the case. I can make use of it reasonably well, in fact I'm
composing this message in it as we speak, but I find the program a lot
less intuitive and a little more sluggish with Jaws than previous
incarnations of Outlook were. Replying to messages is a trial, since
Jaws won't always read me the message I'm typing and will focus on
details like variable width instead. If I press enter to open a
message, there's a good 10-second lag before I can actually start
reading it. This program is eliminated if I view the message using f6
instead of enter, but that really isn't my preference. The list goes on.

Is this just a case of me needing to adjust my expectations, suck it up
and adapt to an unfamiliar program with less convenient hot keys, or is
there some Jaws-related magic bullet I'm overlooking? Is there a script
that one should download for optimal results? A setting or two I should
tweak? Any and all advice welcome.

Best,
Michelle

P.S. If there is a way to redefine the function of certain hot keys, I'd
be beyond happy if someone could enlighten me. :)
