NOD32 from www.eset.com is an outstanding product for around $40 U.S. as I recall. It's both highly accessible with JAWS and extremely thorough in catching and killing the digital bad guys. Re: [JAWS-Users] Antivirus Software and JAWS 8.0/9.0
You asked whether there is much trouble setting up Eset's NOD32 to work with JAWS. I didn't really do anything to it to change it in any way, and it works nicely for me with both JFW and Window-Eyes. Those people on the list who don't like tree views will probably not want to use this product, since its interface is presented as a tree view. It has a reasonably robust spyware component that comes with it for that price, so from my perspective, it's a bargain. Re: [JAWS-Users] Antivirus Software and JAWS 8.0/9.0
You asked whether a tree view is the same as a list view. Not quite. A tree view does generally allow you to tap the first letter of the item you want to select and jump there immediately, but the tree view has to be open first. That's where a tree view differs from a list view like your desktop. A tree view can be opened or expanded with the arrow keys or in some cases with Enter. If you have JAWS 9 currently running on your machine, the Insert+V keystroke opens a tree view of many of the settings you may want to change. This is a perfect example of a tree view, come to think of it. So it's slightly different from a list view. Ah. That's the e-mail signature that AVG generates to inform the user that the message has been scanned and whether any viruses were found in either the incoming or outgoing message. Re: [JAWS-Users] Antivirus Software and JAWS 8.0/9.0
1. Update server can be slow. 2. You can only perform an automatic scan daily. 3. You can't receive technical support. 4. You can't create custom schedules, however you can edit the two predefined ones. Hope that helps. Hi. Thanks for the mention of Nod 32. I can't recommend the program enough. it's very screenreader friendly and it's not free but like I like to say, sometimes you get what you pay for.
