Re: [JAWS-Users] MS Word Search Inquiry
I've wondered about this, too, since Windows 7 search hasn't been picking up my .docx files. I think I just found the answer at the following webpage. Note that once you change your search settings, the system goes through what looks like a lengthy indexing process, which I didn't pick up on right away. It continues as I write this message, although I'm told that by working on the computer, I'm slowing it down. Let's hope this works: http://www.howtogeek.com/99406/how-to-search-for-text-inside-of-any-file-using-windows-search/ -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of jyandt.mar...@comcast.net Sent: Monday, January 16, 2017 1:40 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] MS Word Search Inquiry To All: I was wanting to know if it is possible for me to press the windows key on the desktop, type in a phrase and search all of my documents for this particular phrase. I hope this makes sense. I tried this, and all I got was searches on the web. Thanks. It is all about the index when messing with the search features. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Adrian Spratt Sent: Monday, January 16, 2017 2:42 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] MS Word Search Inquiry I've wondered about this, too, since Windows 7 search hasn't been picking up my .docx files. Re: [JAWS-Users] MS Word Search Inquiry
There is a small but rapid utility called Search Everything that I have used successfully on a Windows 7 box.
