[JBoss-dev] [JBoss.net] - Re: Custom Class Array with Jboss.net
Yes, client-side deployment is something we have not yet catered too much. IÂm sorry for that. But you could have a look at our testsuite (there is an abstract TestBase class in which we use special axis-client.xml descriptors in order to setup small client processes) how to do that descriptively. With the advent of WSEE (JSR109) we will provide an extension to the JBoss client deployer which does something like that. Maybe we will have a look at using the axis configuration engine for that purpose, such that you could easily get your service stubs configured and bound into the client environment. [JBoss-dev] [JMS on JBoss (JMS/JBoss)] - Complete jdbc state manager
As of jboss-3.2.3 there is the jdbc state manager which replaces jbossmq-state.xml with a db store for users/roles and durable subscriptions. This needs completing: 1) Add jmx operations to modify users/roles like file version. 2) Add a mechanism to initialize the configuration for the testsuite, e.g. read the state from jbossmq-state.xml and write it to the db. Additionally, it would also be nice if the state manager allowed durable subscriptions to be modified using JMX. The hard part is what happens when a subscription is active. [JBoss-dev] [JMS on JBoss (JMS/JBoss)] - Imrpoving management
There are many areas of jbossmq that are not exposed for management. These need to be exposed as MBeans. e.g. The client consumers - which could also allow an administrator to break a client connection. The client consumers could also provide stats about an individual client, messages sent/received, etc. Regards, Adrian View the original post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=3823790#3823790 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=posting&mode=reply&p=3823790 --- SF.Net is sponsored by: Speed Start Your Linux Apps Now. [JBoss-dev] [EJB on JBoss] - Re: Standard Stateful Session Bean Error
I'd like to try and duplicate the error (minus SuSE), but am not all too familiar w/ the SPECjAppServer2004 Benchmark. Is this something you can download? I went on the site and didn't see anything (at least particular to '04). Also for future reference, this post is probably better suited to the "JBoss User - EJB/JBoss" forum section. Please post any response info there.. cheers. [JBoss-dev] [JMS on JBoss (JMS/JBoss)] - Re: Complete jdbc state manager
If someone takes this one, let me know. Related to this job, I'm working on the user/password set when the JMS manager is deployed. The mechanism that works for the XML state manager is not ported yet. Additionally, Since 2.3.4 will ship with the Hibernate SAR I am considering using that as the persistence abstraction for the JMS persistence manager, so that there is no need to maintain a JMS-DS SAR for each database. [JBoss-dev] [JBoss IDE] - Re: newbie help
yes, the compute method needs to be in your component interface... It seems to me that you are fairly new to EJB in general. In which case I think are going the wrong way about learning it. It's not like many languages or other parts of Java.. There are many rules that need to be followed. You will find it VERY discouraging if you try to write EJB's by trial and error. The problem you're having now is XDoclet is not creating your Fibo.java correctly... the problem will likely be with the @ejb.interface-method attribute above the compute method in FiboBean.java. (Eclipse was correct in that you need the mothod defined in the interface, but it missed the RemoteException in the throws clause, but again, XDoclet should have taken care of that). http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=3823896#3823896";>View the original post http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=posting&mode=reply&p=3823896>Reply to the post --- SF.Net is sponsored by: Speed Start Your Linux Apps Now. I think you should really consider using an already developed opensource portlet container such as Apache Pluto or eXo portlet container instead of writing your own JSR-168 portlet container from scratch. It will save you a lot of work and make it much easier to get the JSR-168 TCK compliance certification from Sun. [JBoss-dev] [Nukes Development] - Re: MySql setup.ddl is broken (again)
Hi Dennis, Your post once again shows that the DDL stuff is one of the most fragile parts of Nukes. It's obviously error-prone to keep the setup.xml (from which the setup.ddl seems to be generated via XSL; see nukes/nukes/src/resources/setup-xml2ddl.xsl) and the EJBs all sync'd up; and it's an unnecessary waste of precious time for the few core developers we users are all depending on. And it ignores one of the key strengths of the platform (j2ee/jboss) that brought us together here. I stated my views on this in the thread: http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=45576 but stopped pushing because I don't want to interfere with the 1.0 release. ~~~ But here's a new idea: I'm willing to volunteer 20 hours (and maybe more) over the next week to help move Nukes away from this DDL mess prior to the 1.0 release. (There would be many advantages to releasing a clean Nukes that does all it's database setup thru CMP; see above thread for a list. IMHO, this 1 improvement could double the success of the Nukes 1.0 release, by making it far easier for people to get it going, on a wider variety of databases.) If I were further along, I might be able to do the whole thing :), but I'm not -- i still haven't gotten an integrated Eclipse-JBossIDE-CVS-Nukes environment setup properly. I'm a newbie IRT contributing to the codebase, but I'm putting a few weeks full time on Nukes stuff starting this week, and want to help make Nukes a good solid platform we can all build on. Maybe, if you're willing to work on it with me (I think your SQL expertise is stronger than mine), and we get guidance from Julien and a starter template from some of the JBoss CMP gurus, we could shift the whole DDL thing this week??? I'm willing to do much of the grunt work, if others who are more expert than I am give us a really good pattern to follow. IMO, the work boils down to: 1) setting up the XDoclet tags for table create & destroy, identify primary key, to determine when indices are to be set up (Julien said that he uses index to "speed up queries and relationship traversal"), any constraints (Julien said none are used), etc... 2) translation of the SQL statements (considered as initialization specifications) into pure XML representations of the initialization data, and embedding the resultant XML fragment into the relevant setup.xml 3) from the proper place in the code (installer?), accessing the setup.xml, walking the XML subtree created in #2, extracting the data into data objects to use in initializing the EJBs, and making the EJB invocations to create & initialize the Entity EJBs (and thus persist the data into the tables). Anything I've missed? (If others are interested, let's decompose these work items further in this thread. ) My strength would be more in #3, but if a JBossCMP guru did a good example for 2-3 entities that I could use as a pattern, then I could apply it to the other entities and handle the #1 & #3. What do you think? How do you feel about #2? -- Howard http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=3823918#3823918";>View the original post http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=posting&mode=reply&p=3823918>Reply to the post --- SF.Net is sponsored by: Speed Start Your Linux Apps Now. I have removed all the .ddl files from the CVS, now they are all generated through the XSL template. I have reproduced this error with JBoss 3.2.1 and 3.2.3, but it should exist in the entire 3.2.x line. [JBoss-dev] [Nukes Development] - Template Changes have broken clean build
It seems that the nukes-template-sar.mf file is broken in the template module. At least when trying to build in my windows environment. The only difference between 1.1 and 1.2 is the whitespace. I am developing on a windows environment and it looks like the /r/n line ending has bitten me. I usually use textpad which supports unix endlines but I was using netbeans and it obviously is not handeling things properly. I feel really bad for this, I thought I had tested the template module thoroughly before checking it in, but got bit by this. I would suggest using 1.1 since this file actually didn't change in any other way. I will make sure that my linefeeds are unix from now on.
