Thank you for those links.

I have a question regarding MIME types - is the HTML only supported ? Can I add
to the mime-type more MIME types?
Let's say, MIME types for cHTML, xHTML, WML ?

[JBoss-dev] [Design of JBoss Profiler] - starting and stopping the profiler

2005-01-17 Thread eitangur
Hi

I started using the profiler today, which appears to be an amazing tool.
I have an issue when I start/stop the profiler:

After using CTRL-Break to start and stop the profiler for the first time, I
need to restart jBoss AS and delete c:\tmp folder, in order for the profiler to
start working again. Otherwise I get the following message:

When I try to use the JMX console to start/stop the profiler, I get the
following exception:

[JBoss-dev] [JBoss JIRA] Created: (JBIDE-114) CLONE -InvocationTargetException saving xdoclet/pack configuration

2005-01-17 Thread rohit trivedi (JIRA)
CLONE -InvocationTargetException saving xdoclet/pack configuration
--

 Key: JBIDE-114
 URL: http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBIDE-114
 Project: JBoss IDE
Type: Bug
Reporter: rohit trivedi
 Assigned to: Marshall Culpepper

SourceForge Submitter: thogr .
After using Eclipse + JBOSS IDE a couple of months
suddely the generation of ant-files from xdoclet and
packaging configurations fails. A dialog pops up with
the error:
Failed to save configuration.

java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException

And from that day it never worked again.
Now I have to edit these ant-files manually, which is a
pain. I really liked the config-dialogs.

I have upgraded to the Jboss-IDE 1.2.4 today, but
I didn't see any improvements on this. Still the same.

I have Eclipse 2.1.3 on Windows 2003

 I made a typo in my ejb-jar.xml file so it didn't match the
 ejb-link within my webservices.xml file. No complaint
 from JBoss on deployment on this.

2005-01-17 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
You need to implement code.

You need to look at the request content type and provide the correct chunk.

For now, user portlet, role portlet, forums portlet... only support HTML. It is
not a priority for us to render WML or any other content-type. Contribution is
always welcome though :)

 It would be nice to specify in the hibernate session
 factory jmx definition a hibernate interceptor(or maybe
 list of interceptors) to use when creating the hibernate
 session.
 For example
 mbean code=org.jboss.hibernate.jmx.Hibernate
 name=jboss.har:service=Hibernate
 ...
 attribute
 name=Interceptorcom.mycompany.hibernate.MyHibern
 ateInterceptor/attribute
 /mbean
 As far as I am aware it is not currently possible to use
 an interceptor with the current jboss integration.

Are you *certain* you are making this call within an on-going JTA transaction?
Is that transaction owned by the TransactionManager bound under
java:/TransactionManager?

Line 171 (where you are getting this NPE) is attempting to register a
transaction Synchronization with the current Transaction which it gets from the
TransactionManager. Either the Transaction or the TransactionManager are null
here, which is a usage problem.

Later versions added better error messages on this condition.

I ran a short scenario (less than 5 mins) on my AS, and then started analyzing

After completing 99% of the job, I got:

This was after I configured my AS with JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -Xms128m -Xmx512m

Any ideas?

2005-01-17 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Did you deploy jboss-profiler-noAOP.sar or jboss-profiler.sar depending on what
version of JBoss you are working on. (You are running 3.2.6 you should use
noAOP)

I just tested the noAOP.sar into 3.2.6 and the JMX worked fine.

I've used jboss-profiler.sar also into 3.2.6 and I've gotten a deployment
error. (That's maybe something you should consider. Maybe you are using this
package with 3.2.X).

The Ctrl-Break doesn't support PAUSE (only STOP) what means you should restart
you app-server for capturing more events. The JMX supports PAUSE fine.

It looks you produced lots of Objects.

At this part, I'm basically calculating the releases on GC operations for
capturing object releases finding memory-leaks.

You could try to disable the Calculate releases on GC operations what would

I use jBoss-3.2.5, and I put in the jboss-profiler-noAOP.sar.

As for the CTRL-break - thanks - that explains why I should restart my AS every

As for the console - do you simply use the start / stop buttons? Maybe I'm
using the wrong service module - which are you using?

Thanks :-)

[JBoss-dev] [JBoss JIRA] Updated: (JBREM-35) Servlet Invoker - counterpart to HTTP Invoker (runs within web container)

2005-01-17 Thread Tom Elrod (JIRA)
 [ http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBREM-35?page=history ]

Tom  Elrod updated JBREM-35:

Fix Version: 1.0.1 final

 Servlet Invoker - counterpart to HTTP Invoker (runs within web container)
 -

  Key: JBREM-35
  URL: http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBREM-35
  Project: JBoss Remoting
 Type: Feature Request
   Components: transport
 Versions: 1.0.1 beta
 Reporter: Tom  Elrod
 Assignee: Tom  Elrod
 Priority: Minor
  Fix For: 1.0.1 final

 Need a servlet invoker that will be the same as the HTTP Invoker (which is
 its own web server), but will run inside a web container (such as Tomcat) as
 a servlet. Will then process request same as HTTP Invoker after
 doPost()/doGet() called.

[JBoss-dev] [Design of Messaging on JBoss (Messaging/JBoss)] - Unreadable messages JDBC3 Persistence Manager

2005-01-17 Thread trickard
I posted this in user but got no response. Maybe somebody has some ideas here.

Messages left in a topic with a durable subscriber when jboss is shutdown will
never be sent/received. They appear in the message count in the jmx console but
if mq must go back and load it from storage the message will never be sent to a
receiver. Post restart, when a subscriber connects with the appropriate
clientID and subscription name if an internal ref to the message does not exist
PersistenceMgr.loadFromStorage reads the jms_message_log table using keys
messageid and destination. The destination value for topic messages with
durable subscribers is '*' in jms_message_log.

  |  try
  |   {
  |  c = this.getConnection();
  |  stmt = c.prepareStatement(SELECT_MESSAGE);
  |  stmt.setLong(1, messageRef.messageId);
  |  System.out.println(x + messageReg.getPersistnen
  |
  |  stmt.setString(2, messageRef.getPersistentKey());
  |
  |  rs = stmt.executeQuery();
  |  if (rs.next())
  | return extractMessage(rs, 2);
  |
  |  return null;
  |

The messageRef.getPersistentKey returns the destination from jms_reference_log
(clientid, name, and selector), the row is never found and the function returns
null.

This also blocks any new messages that are added after the startup. When a
subscriber connects and attempts to get messages either synchronously or
asynchronously the system throws a null pointer exception due to the code above
and never gets past the first message.

Messages written to topics with durable subscribers that are read before a
shutdown work as the system has an internal ref of some sort and does not
attempt to load from storage.

Is there a patch that makes this work anywhere that anyone knows of or should I
just switch to JDBC2 which does not include the jms_reference_log table and
hopefully works on restart

[JBoss-dev] [JBoss JIRA] Updated: (JBREM-30) Better integration for registering invokers with MBeanServer

2005-01-17 Thread Tom Elrod (JIRA)
 [ http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBREM-30?page=history ]

Tom  Elrod updated JBREM-30:

Fix Version: 1.0.1 final

 Better integration for registering invokers with MBeanServer

  Key: JBREM-30
  URL: http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBREM-30
  Project: JBoss Remoting
 Type: Task
   Components: transport
 Versions: 1.0.1 beta
 Reporter: Tom  Elrod
 Assignee: Tom  Elrod
 Priority: Minor
  Fix For: 1.0.1 final

 All the invokers (socket, rmi, http) need to be registered with an
 MBeanServer so can be configured and managed via JMX. Configuration has been
 added to the invokers via service.xml, but is not direct, meaning that it is
 the Connector that is really the service mbean, so the invokers have to be
 registered separately. This is fine if running within JBoss and can lookup
 the JBoss MBeanServer (same one used by the microkernel via the
 MBeanServerLocator.locateJBoss() call). The problem arises when running
 stand alone and not within JBoss AS. Need to figure out a way to handle this
 case.

Thank you, it works almost 100% fine.
I can activate / pause as much as I want to, but after pressing stop - I need

Is that a normal behavior?

[JBoss-dev] [Design of JBoss Profiler] - Re: starting and stopping the profiler

2005-01-17 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Yes... that's intentional.

By the stop Im closing all internal files and releasing them to a immediate
analysis.
The pause would leave the files opened, so you could restart the data-capruting.

Just one thing. When you told you would have to restart the AS, I understood
that you AS still running OK after you've stopped it, but you can't profile it
any more. If your AS is dying by the stop there is something wrong, but I
didn't understand that this is what's happening.

Clebert Suconic

[JBoss-dev] [Design of JBoss Remoting, Unified Invokers] - Re: remote object data and behavior

2005-01-17 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Hmm. Not sure I fully understand what you are asking, but will take a stab at
what I thinking you are looking for.

There are two ways in which to pass (or receive) objects in any remote call; by
reference and by value. By value means that the object being passed is
actually marshalled over the network, including all its state information. The
end result of passing an object by value is that there will be two instances of
that ojbect in memory; one within the client's vm and one within the server's
vm. When the receiver of the remote call (the server) gets this object passed
by value, it will act on this object locally. So this means if the server sets
a value on an object passed to it, the client will not be aware of this change.

The other way, pass by reference, means that the actual object instance is not
passed across the wire, but instead, a remote proxy of it. So when the server
gets passed the proxy, it will appear to the server that it is making calls
locally on the object, but for each call it makes, the proxy will make the call
across the network to the original object in memory on the client. Thus is
there is only one instances being maintained, which is in the client vm.

Hope this is what you were asking for?

-Tom

 AbstractInvoker should use Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader() to
 initialize classbyteloader. Currently it uses
 this.getClass().getClassLoader() which assumes that jboss-remoting.jar and my
 classes are loaded by the same classloader, which is not always possible. In
 my case, jboss-remoting.jar belongs to one Eclipse plugin and EJB3 client
 interfaces to another and I get ClassNotFoundException whenever I try to call
 an EJB.

 Also need to check the CVS commit history as seem to remember that Bill might
 have made this change to fix a problem that could occur is classloader is
 from a SAR that re-deployed.

[JBoss-dev] [Design of JBoss IIOP on JBoss] - CSIv2 or any security

2005-01-17 Thread bonoc
I know that 3.2.x doesn't support CSIv2. But I believe that 4.0.x does -
correct? We are stuck on 3.2.3 for now. I am using IIOP.NET to connect a C#
client to our secured ejbs (and there lies the problem). I need to somehow get
security working. I know I can write an EJB interceptor that extracts the
user/pass out of some piggy-backed data (such as for WebSservices we stuff in
soap header). Where can I write extra header data on each call so that I can
extract it and manually authenticate?

Thanks,
Chris

The latest JBossAop supports prepare annotation tag. We will need to test it

[JBoss-dev] [Design of JBoss Portal] - Re: JBossPortal (Nukes 2.0) on JBossAS 4.0.1

2005-01-17 Thread Egarcialopez
It was yesterday!
The jar is in the nukes thirdparty directory, but the build.xml in the core
module (line 68) still points to the JBossAS directory, because
jboss-hibernate.jar is not defined in jboss.hibernate.classpath
@tools/etc/buildfragments/libraries.ent, so the build is getting the library
from the general classpath.

I guess that the reference to jboss-hibernate.jar should be omited in
core/build.xml (line 68), and added to tools/etc/buildfragments/libraries.ent,
let's line 43.

I hope this helps!

JBossCacheAop nees a customized interceptor option
--

 Key: JBCACHE-54
 URL: http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBCACHE-54
 Project: JBoss Cache
Type: Feature Request
Versions: 1.2.1
Reporter: Ben Wang
 Assigned to: Bela Ban
 Fix For: 1.2.2

In designing the implementation of http session repl using JBossCacheAop, there
is a need to add a customized interceptor (in addition to the CacheInterceptor)
to handle specific session request.

This feature can be generalized to a generic customized interceptor chain that
a user of aop can add to his own. Idea then is the chain (of which starts with
the CacheInterceptor) will be added as a dynamic aop interceptors.

Also, the UserVO extends PartyVO which extends BaseVO. Not sure if the
inheritance is causing the issue or not.

[JBoss-dev] [Design of Messaging on JBoss (Messaging/JBoss)] - Re: Unreadable messages JDBC3 Persistence Manager

2005-01-17 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
You were ignored because (like others before you)
the post is redundant.

It was fixed back in November.

CVS is your friend:
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/jboss/jbossmq/src/main/org/jboss/mq/pm/jdbc3/PersistenceManager.java?rev=1.9view=log

Always check the latest version before posting.
It avoids wasting people's time with duplicate work.

[JBoss-dev] [JBoss JIRA] Commented: (JBREM-39) start connector on new thread

2005-01-17 Thread Tom Elrod (JIRA)
 [ http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBREM-39?page=comments#action_12314721
]

Tom  Elrod commented on JBREM-39:
-

Nope. The socket invoker manages threads manually (as is done with the pooled
invoker). The http invoker uses the oswego PooledExecutor. The rmi invoker
does not have any direct interaction with thread management.

I wouldn't mind adding ability to plug in threadpools, only problem is how to
make this generic? Would want to be able to accept jboss, oswego, etc., but is
no standard interface for these, right?

 start connector on new thread
 -

  Key: JBREM-39
  URL: http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBREM-39
  Project: JBoss Remoting
 Type: Task
   Components: general
 Versions: 1.0.1 beta
 Reporter: Tom  Elrod
 Assignee: Tom  Elrod
 Priority: Minor

 Overload start() method of Connector so takes a boolean. If true, will start
 connector using a new thread, otherwise, will use current thread.
