[JOYnet] My comments on WE will do

2002-03-08 Thread Ravi Vaz

 Hi Joynetters,
I recieved this mail a year ,year and half ago..It has all the characteristics of a
chain mail..
Especially the threatening verse from the bible..which is always attached to such
emails to make it sound credible..
Let us not waste time over such matters..let us ensure that we do not send any chain
mails no matter how good and right intentioned they may seem..

[JOYnet] my comments on "God will supply all your 'Needs'"

2002-03-08 Thread Ravi Vaz

 Hi Joynetters,
Our dear sister Priya is absolutely right when she points out that God will Supply all
our "Needs"
and not our "Wants".
Becoz he is a loving god and a loving father who knows our needs even before we ask
him...
imagine a scene at lunch time.. the child wants to eat ice-cream or chocolate and not
food..
As a parent what would u do... wont u be firm and fulfill the need of the child and
give him food or will u satisfy his want and give him the chocolate..?
The child is small and doesnt understand that a chocolate or icecream cannot satisfy
hunger or nourish the body..that is what the parents are there for..(Sometimes even
the parents also dont understandthat is another matter..;-) )
Same case with God..Jesus says.." If u who are evil..know how to give good gifts to ur
children...how much more will the heavenly father"
We need the holy spirit to identify the needs from the wants...
Or may be the childlike trust in him..allowing him to make the choices for us...(very
difficult trust me...after all "Its My Life..")..
Love and Prayers

Priya Joy <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: “And with all his abundant wealth through
Christ Jesus, my God will supply
all your needs” - Philippians 4:19

Once in our prayer group we studied and discussed the same scripture. One of
our elder members advised us to claim HIS promises, which are already
waiting to be given for us!

Oh, my goodness! I have a lot of needs so I thought of making use of this
grand opportunity to claim the right of a daughter from the heavenly Father.
Days went by…but I didn’t get any answer for my prayers. With out any
hesitation I went on putting forth the same requests in my prayer. Later I
sensed my prayers are in vain. Therefore, I approached Him to find out an
explanation for His turning deaf ears to my pleas.

Thanks to my helper, the Holy Ghost! Who inspired me to re read the
scripture. My eye struck where these words were written –“All your Needs”
Yes! He promised me in scripture that – He will satisfy my “Needs” but not
my greedy, unwanted and unlimited craving for comforts and luxuries.
Holy Spirit helped me to discern a new meaning.

Friends, if you have any ‘Needs’ which are not fulfilled after your fervent
prayers, you have to find out whether your needs are really good or
acceptable in His view. We are sure that God will provide us everything,
which is good to us and will give Him glory!

Let’s seek the help of Holy Spirit to guide our paths to ask all good gifts
from the Abba!!

Let’s sing together confidently -“Jaahova Jairah my provider
His grace is sufficient for me….
My god shall supply all my needs
According to his riches in glory
He will give his angels charge over me
Jahova Jairah cares for me…..”

Praise God!

[JOYnet] protection of the heavenly Army

2002-03-08 Thread Shobith Thomas

Dear All

It has been a long way since I wrote to all of you.The past three days were real
deserted.Wenesday I started with Jesus. I made a small mistake by making fun of my
friend. But then I do not from where a sudden guilt came in. Evening I went with
Fr.Johnson and Seyin to the Missionaries of Charity centre. We were planning for an
Outreach and Praise the Lord that he arranged everything for us. Praise the name of
the Lord as Praveen,Joseph and Joshy made a good Confession

Thursday was a day of much blessings.I went for the Holy
Mass and Ajish had come with Ron.This day I was able to share about the prayer of
submission with Ajish. I had told about the tour problem and till today the Good Lord
had kept obstacles.Anup and his Father who were in case were rescued.Praise the
Lord. But still that gut feeling and I could not share my problem with Ron as he had
gone for the prayer crusade led by Dr.Roger Housama

Yesterday was the day on which My Jesus Really Overpowered me by the power of is
Mighty Spirit.Morning I receieved my Christ and I was feeling a great. But then that
guilt feeling. In the evening I was invited to a party at a wayside hotel near to our
Church at 7:00 PM.On fridays we have adoration at 7:00 PM and I thought I had to
go.But I had to be present for the party too.But I went to church and I told Jesus to
take my silliness. I had a great desire to testify for my Jesus. Jesus gave me a
chance and I would I leave that out (njan athu veruthe vidumo). My friends asked me
where I had been and I happily told them that I had gone for the Adoration. This is
not my power but the power from above.

After the prayer I got an opportunity to speak with Ron and we
shared a great time .Praise the Lord. Ron was going to meet someone that I didnot
think was a good idea. Ron asked me if it was okay and I told that I do not know. So I
told Jesus to take care and today morning after having the body and blood of christ I
was giving the prayer (after communion and when priest raises the body of Christ) to
Ajish. Fr.Johnson came and then I saw a miracle right in front of my eyes. Ron asked
Father whether it was right to go to meet that man.Fr.Johnson enquired whether he had
to cut classes for it and Ron said yes. Fr.Johnson asked him to avoid the meeting and
I told Ron that it was the answer to his query.

Today during Mass I had the same old guilt and I asked Jesus to help me and suddenly I
remebered St.Micheal the Arch Angel was the commander of the heavenly Army and asked
Jesus to sent him to me and I had a small vision I saw him coming with the Army of
God. Then another fear about my future and I again found that St.Micheal was sent by
Jesus to help me.

I found a lack of personal prayer in all my troubles.
When thinks seems troubled. Just Submit

Please send all your prayer request to [EMAIL PROTECTED] so that we shall pray for
them in our night vigil today. Please give names if possible.

with love and prayers in christ

[JOYnet] Re: WE will do

2002-03-08 Thread Mathew Joseph

Hi Rosemary, Jose mathew and others,

I think this chain mail has come to JOYnet about an year back.
I have seen this same mail more than twice earlier too.

I don't find it logical to believe that someone will stop producing
a movie, if you write your name on a chain mail and circulate it
on the internet!!! Ofcourse, if that news is truth, there is nothing wrong
in airing our opinion against such movies. But chain mail is not the
solution
for that

That is why I believe it is a waste of time and resource if we circulate
such chain mails, especially in JOYnet

Prayer to Lord Jesus St. Jude

Oh! St Jude apostle and martyr great in virtue and rich in miracles near kingsmen of
Jesus Christ. Intercessor of all those who invoke your special patronage in times of
need to you. I have recoursed from the depth of my heart and I humbly beg to whom god

petition (mention your petition here) and in return I promise to make your name known
and cause you to be invoked. Amen.

Miraculous Intercession to St. Therese

Oh! Glorious St. Therese whom almighty god has raised up to aid and inspire the human
family. I implore your miraculous intercession. You are so powerful in obtaining every
need of body and spirit from the heart of god. Holy mother church proclaims you the
prodijy of miracles. The greatest saint of modern times. Now I fervently beseech you
to answer my petition (mention your petition here) and to carry out your promises of
spending heaven doing good upon earth. Of letting fall from heaven a shower of roses.
Little flower give me your childlike faith to see the face of god in the people and
experiences of my life and to love god with full confidence. St. Therese my carmalite
sister I will fulfill your plea to be made known everywhere and will continue to lead
others to Jesus through you. Amen.

Prayer to Holy Spirit

Holy spirit thou who make me see everything and shows me the way to reach my idol you
who gives me the divine gift to forgive and forget the wrong that is done to me and
who are in all instances of my life with me. I in this short dialogue want to thank

[JOYnet] God will supply all your 'Needs'

2002-03-08 Thread Priya Joy

“And with all his abundant wealth through Christ Jesus, my God will supply
all your needs” - Philippians 4:19

Praise God!

[JOYnet] When I Think My Load Is Heavy

2002-03-08 Thread mable mathew

When I think my load is heavy,
And I can't carry anymore,
I think about the heavier cross,
That His poor shoulders bore.

Sometimes I fairly stumble,
Beneath my troubled load,
But then He stumbled more than I,
As He walked down Calvary's road.

My face is wet with falling tears,
My forehead tight in thought,
But He had blood upon His brow,
>From the crown of thorns they wrought.

My friends have but abandoned me,
They are no longer near,
But He had been forsaken more,
And they taunted him and jeered.

I pray to have such strength as His,
To be led by Jesus' hand,
He suffered far more pain than I,
Yet, He obeyed His Father's plan.

[JOYnet] why don't we try??

2002-03-08 Thread Priya Joy

It is a fact that a successful man possesses great psychological and
spiritual understanding.

One of our prayer group members shared how a farmer became successful after
a series of failure in his life. First, he was a successful, later he began
to lose his harvest. He used all the scientific methods to improve the
scientific cultivation. but nothing worked out and he decided to sell out
his land. That critical time he happened to attend a retreat. There he
heard –“Go in to all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole
creation.” (Mark16: 15). In addition, word of God never fails and it always
brings forth-good fruits. He thought why shouldn’t I put this verse in to
practice?

He arranged 2-3 loud speakers and played spiritual tape in his garden. Yes
he was preaching good news to all the trees. Days went by. His neighbours
ridiculed him. But he had the firm faith that word of god will never fail
and bring forth the good crop. That year his harvest was far beyond than his
expectation. The Bible says, according to your belief is it done unto you.

The above sharing inspired many of us and one of my friends decided to put
this idea in to practice. She began to preach the good news to the mango
tree, which never bore any fruits…in Kerala, the season for mangoes had not
yet come. (Season is month of April-May) still my friend’s mango tree had
already “3” mangoes on it! That friend is none other than our Annie Berly!
If She can try that, why don’t we?

Let’s preach the good news to 'all the creatures' and wait for the good
result. If there is any area where you are a failure “Preach good news” for
a minute daily and wait for the wonderful result!

Praise God!

[JOYnet] Re: Re:Re:(JOYNET)WOMAN'S DAY

2002-03-08 Thread Josun Jose

Hi my loving bretheren and sisteren in Jesus,

Wish you all a happy and wonderful barbers day... May this year prove to be
an year of soaring profits and ground-breaking hairstyles... Oh goodness
me!what have I done... I'm sorry!!!,... today is womans dayI
forgot... not barbers.the reasons being, I got my hair cut the other
day on a discount coupon.. I look like a chicken dipped in water! (more
about that later) my mom and my two sisters also forgot. So no problems!!

I'll give the conclusion to Gregs joke.whoever that blessed soul was, who
coined that PJ must have had the harrowing experience of getting an horrible
kick on his buttocks, from a woman!!!:) (greg, I honestly didn't mean u ok.
I know u haven't!)

Sometimes When my mom feels that me (or my bros) taking undue advantage of
my two sisters.she admonishes her daughters ."look here my girls, don't take
everything lying down like that.u've got stand up and let them (4 bull
dogs!!) know that u can't be tossed around like this, after all how far can
men go without us?... A maximum of 1 generation:)" True isn't it?

I subscribe to a humourous ezine and here's what they send me today. I hope
it brings a chuckle..

Woman's Quote of the Day:

"Men are like fine wine. They all start out like grapes, and it's our job to
stomp on them and keep them in the dark until they mature into something
with which you'd like to have dinner with"

Men's Counter-Quote of the Day:

"Women are like fine wine. They all start out fresh, fruity and intoxicating
to the mind and then turn full-bodied with age until they go all sour and
vinegary and give you a headache.

Yeah, woman is the most beautiful creation of God, infact I feel God spent
overtime creating woman. Aye ladies don't u agree with me

Wish all u women of God, a happy womans day. U are all simply beautiful.

Love always in Jesus, Mama Mary & St. Joseph

[JOYnet] A Milestone in the Jesus Youth History..

2002-03-08 Thread jyfamily

Hello every one,

I am writing this from Delhi.
I am filled with the beautiful memories of the most joyful moments I had in my life in
Jalandhar with 140 Bishops during the CBCI (Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India)
last night. We ( Raiju, Anu [Shelton’s wife] and I ) reached Jalandhar yesterday
morning and we were heartily welcomed by Fr.Kurian Mattom (former Principal of St.
Thomas College Palai; Jesus Youth Pastor of Palai zone, now the Principal of the first
Christian college in Punjab).
We went to the Bishop’s house and they took us to the Seminary where the CBCI meeting
was going on. At about 7.15 PM, the newly elected Vice-precedent of CBCI, Archbishop
Mar Jacob Thoomkuzhy gave a very good introduction on Jesus Youth and invited us for
presenting our “National Intercession Campaign of Light”. Archbishop ended his
introduction like this - “they put us to shame by sending the Fulltime young
Missionaries to all the parts of India” . Anu gave a beautiful presentation on Divya
Jyothi and the brochures were distributed to all the Bishops. After the presentation,
all the Bishops stood up and the President of CBCI, Archbishop Cyril Mar Basalious
recited a beautiful prayer. Then all the Bishops together blessed the candles. (We
carried 5 candles with us as a symbol of thousands of candles to be distributed all
over India in the coming months).
After that Archishop Cyril lighted the huge candle and and handed it over to us. When
he lighted the candle something beautiful happened – one of the Bishops started
singing “this little guiding light of mine..” and all the Bishops sang the full song
together. We never thought of getting so much time in that tight schedule. But finally
it became such a solemn and prayerful function. All of us were feeling the strong
movement of the Spirit in that hall. I know many of you are praying for this..

Soon after the presentation many Bishops came to the back stage for expressing their
appreciation in the work we do. The Bishop from Amaravathi told us he would have given
a much better introduction for Jesus Youth since he was very happy after sending his
youth for our Tribal youth Exchange programme. On our way back, I met a Bishop from
Bihar( who is basically from Kerala; but settled in Bihar for the last 40 years) and
he put a sign of cross on my forehead and told me he is so happy with Jesus Youth and
is very proud of us.. We came back with lot of good experiences like this..

I think this is a very important step in the history of Jesus Youth. We got this
opportunity and blessing when it was rejected for many other officially approved
Catholic organizations. We have never even got an opportunity to address the KCBC
before.. ( all credits should be given to Raiju who followed this up with different
Bishops continuously and to our Eddychettan who was there in meeting the Bishops and
preparing everything..)
Now I think we have to be more committed to the Church in our activites.. The Spirit
is working on making the theme (which we took for the last National gathering) come
really true…“ Jesus Youth – to serve the Church as a Missionary Movement..”

Sharing the joy of being together in prayer,

In union with Jesus and Mary,
Manoj Sunny

2002-03-08 Thread greg dsilva

Dear Jason,
Thanks for your message, its interesting. With this I am
sharing two thoughts that have come to my mind.
1)When is MAN'S day celebrated? We also should give
women a chance to wish us for the difference we have
made in their lives.
2)IT IS SAID(I do not know for sure)but it is
said, that when God created man He rested for a
while. After that He created woman and since then till
today neither has God rested nor is man resting.
THANKS TO THE WOMAN'S ERA THAT has KEPT AND IS STILL
KEEPING GOD AND MAN CONSTANTLY BUSY.
