Dear All The works my Jesus did for me the past two days. Wenesday evening me and my sister had gone to our Mother's place and we had a nice journey together. We reached at about 8:00 AM but we had a good sleep during our journey. Praise him. There I had a chance to meet my aunt and chechi from U.S. I went to Jose Uncle's house.He passed away following an accident a few months back. I could not be there then. It was a very tragic death as he was going to invite everyone for his son's marriage.I went spoke with them and was able to be with them.Praise the Lord on the highest. I came back safe and sound and Lord took care of my Vehicle that I had entrusted to a friend.I had good sleep on the bus too. Today morning since it was the Birthday of my dear sister and also since I might miss mass in the evening I went for the Holy Mass after all the journey. This is mighty miracle as it is his power not mine. [JOYnet] Church is the body of Christ
Hi Joynet friends, We see more than 15,000 (this is not an exact number) churches scattered around the world, all professing to be the true church and finding fault with all others. The Acts of the Apostles, Revelation and the letters of St Paul provide us with hints about existence of different churches. As Shreil and Shija and many others pointed out the Church is the body of Christ and different denominations are the parts of the body. There is no dispute about it. Why and how all the denominations came to exist is part of history now. But all churches with apostolic traditions have authority derived from Christ by ordination and faith. The moot question is why do they fight each other and throw dirt against each other. Most of the divisions in the church today have something to do with leadership struggle. Faith has had very little role in the division and subdivision of the church. This is where the ecumenical movement and apologies of the Catholic church have relevance. Let different churches learn to behave like parts of the body and help and console each other, feel the pain inflicted on one part or the other and the Head of the body will provide the healing quickly and effectively. If anybody knows some good Ayurveda Doctors please let me know it. Hope all are preparing for Easter. Last week we went to a Calvary here in a remote area for the Way of the Cross. It was a wonderful experience. Then Sri Lanka is now moving towards Peace and prosperity. last day prime Minister Visited Jafana which is a historical event. After this Civil war started nobody dared to visit jafana and Mr. Ranil done it. Please pray for my Sri Lanka. I will try to write more later... Today's Scriptures: Wisdom 2:1a, 12-22 Ps 34:17-21 and 23 John 7:1-2, 10, 25-30 http://www.nccbuscc.org/nab/031502.htm Reflection: There are many ways in which Jesus presents Himself to us. Most of them are unexpected. Sometimes we don't even recognize Him. The people in today's Gospel reading failed to recognize Jesus as the Messiah because they had EXPECTATIONS of what the Messiah would be like. Sheesh! Expectations can sure mislead us! Yes, we can expect God to love us and do good for us, but when we have expectations about HOW and through WHOM He should love us and do good for us, we usually end up disappointed and feeling abandoned. Jesus is present when we suffer, but if we expect Him to remove our pain quickly to prove He cares about us, we will fail to recognize what He is doing that is more loving. We want short-cuts to healing and short-cuts to happiness, but God knows when this would be detrimental for us. Despite what our expectations insist upon, He is present to us in the long-term plan, for which someday we'll be very grateful. Jesus also comes to us in the people we don't like, but since we don't expect Him to show up in jerks and other sinners, we reject Him. It takes effort to find Jesus in persons who are behaving very unChrist-like. But He is there. He is teaching us to love the unlovable. Jesus comes to us in many illogical ways. We expect that everything God does and asks us to do will make sense. But it didn't make sense to Mary that she should become the mother of the Messiah while still a virgin. It didn't make sense to Joseph, either. And it's not logical that God would use a sinner like me to bring you these daily reflections, especially since I don't have a formal college degree, let alone a doctorate in theology. And neither is it logical that you are the right person to do the tasks that God has set before you. But if we say NO to God's plan, we are saying NO to an awesome experience of presenting Jesus to the world. Jesus is presenting Himself to you in unexpected ways today. Look for Him. Here's how to find Him when you can't see Him. Make a list of all those areas of your life where it seems like God has left the room, closed the door and forgotten about you. Wherever He seems to be failing you, abandoning you, or dismissing your needs, this is where Jesus is presenting Himself to you in UNexpected ways. He is not standing where you're looking. Turn around and look in a different direction. You might need to turn toward a direction you don't like.
